    I just looked up this company " Litefighter" and heck Stokerman, iam impressed, all of their equipment is D.O.D. approved and are Mil-Spec. The tent your reviewed is only one out of many other they carry, they also have a single Man like the "ICS" I was talking with you and Jayson about.
    Thanks for the lead. You mentioned in your video about doing product reviews for outdoor equipment. It wouldn't hurt sending the company an email, maybe they would take you up on the idea???.

      I may, we'll see. I've reached out to a few organizations but I think my fish tank is too small. I hope to get my hands on one of their single man tents within a month or so.

    Great review. Thanks much. However, you did not point out the most obvious feature of the LiteFighter 2 and that is its camouflage skin. In a world where yellow, blue, red and all kinds of Dayglo colors prevail, a camper is hard pressed even to find a solid forest green tent which meets his needs. The fact that here you have something which is an excellent tent AND is stealthy seals the deal for me. I have passed on literally hundreds of tents whose features I loved but which stuck out like a sore thumb. Unless you're car camping in commercial or state parks and don't care about being seen, or one is mountaineering in snow fields where high visibility is paramount, camo is the way to go. Because this is such a rare feature today, it really needs to be emphasized. Thanks again!

    Looks like a nice roomy, well constructed tent. For the price, it is a bit too heavy for long haul backpacking, you can get a similar sized tent that weighs around 3 lb. As far as two person vs. two man, like marriage, I prefer one man and one woman lol.

      Price, durability and weight. Find me something that preforms well in all 3 categories and that would be a unicorn indeed. Ultra durable and light....but super high cost....ultra durable and moderate cost like this for the materials, but heavier. Extremely light and inexpensive, not going to last you too long lots of corners cut. I've been through many a cheap tent some for several seasons but they all start to fail before long. I really like this tent. Not bad all the way around.

    Got a Litefighter 1 recently for $224. Will be giving it a try in a week or so. The center poles are a pain to attach to the rainfly which is my only complaint so far.

      @STOKERMATIC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great deal!

    • @mtpstv94
      @mtpstv94 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Randy Candelario Well I've had a problem. The short pole that attaches to the rainfly is very very difficult to attach the tent and rainfly. It's very VERY tight. Also one of my carbon fiber poles outer shell split after about 3 nights of use. Unfortunately. Really hoped to take it on a thru hike, but of course it is a slight bit heavy. I was willing to accept that and do it anyway but with the poles splitting I'm not sure I can rely on it.

    • @RB-xv4si
      @RB-xv4si ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mtpstv94 based on you essentially saying that one of the poles in unreasonably difficult to install and that the composite started splitting apart after a few nights of use, it stands to reason that you possibly used the wrong pole in the wrong location, over stressing the composite. There’s just no way that should be happening on a high-end tent like this. I bet it was the pole that attaches to the rainfly that started splitting apart, wasn’t it?

    • @mtpstv94
      @mtpstv94 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RB-xv4si I never installed poles incorrectly. That's pretty hard to do. They never even needed to be stressed at any point. It also wasn't splitting apart in the way you are probably assuming. The outer shell started to split/peel off. Something I was able to more or less just apply tape to.
      What is difficult to install are the short ends that attach to the rainfly. Those are two different things. The grommets aren't far enough apart, making it an extremely tight stretch. Those poles never damaged.

    Hey mate, love your videos. I'm considering buying the LF2 but I'm wondering if will fit into the side pocket of the backpack I'm buying (Kifaru 44 Mag)
    I know the dimensions of the tent packed are 19" long and 8" wide. But could you tell me if it's able to be squeezed in to be less than 8" in width at all? Cause I believe the backpacks side pocket is an inch or 2 under that. Would be a huge help 👌

    What I don't like about it: for just a little more than retail price, you can get a two-person (4 without stove) 4-season teepee tent with stovejack for 3 1/2 pounds. I personally don't think the LiteFighter series is a particularly good value for civilians, even on the used market, as there are NEW two-person tents that offer better features for less money and less weight. Personally, if I'm investing $500+ in a tent, it's going to have a stovejack.

    Overall I love it. The only thing I don't like about the LF1/2 is the tan diagonal flap over the zip.. IMO it should be multicam like the rest as it makes the shelter that much more noticeable. The whole concept of multicam is to break up straight lines and single colors. But that's not a deal breaker, I still want to buy one...

    I noticed on their website that there's an "add on" that is available for this that they call a "windbreaker" that goes between the mosquito net base/tub, and the rainfly. I imagine that provides an extra layer for very inclement weather (rain/snow). I would like their website to be a little more transparent in that I wasn't sure if the "windbreaker" came with, or was extra $ until I watched your video.
    It looks very sturdy. This would be the absolute smallest I would consider cos my "battle babe" has to have her inflatable mattress ...
    Are you going to actually take it out and see how it holds up under actual use ?

    That is an awesome tent brotha! Do you have experience with the Eureka TCOP or Diamond Brand USMC 2 man Combat tent? It appears the LF2 is only a 3 season tent without a second layer besides the mesh to keep cold out and warmth in. The TCOP and USMC 2 man combat tent is superior in that respect I would think. Although I do know that the LF1 does have an optional and sold seperately windbreaker that can be attached to the outside of the tent. Do you know if the LF2 offers that as well?

    • @STOKERMATIC
      @STOKERMATIC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve used the Eureka. The LF2 in most parts of the country is a tent good enough for 4 seasons. IMO. But it does have some drawbacks. I’ve got the LF1 with liner I’m hoping to get out and use this winter.

    Pro tip for inflation: buy the expensive shit while it's cheap. You're gonna be paying gucci prices for bad gear when u couldve bought it sooner get a bag, tent, pad and sleeping pad now and some ammo. Lockdown 2.0 will drive the prices through the roof as the government has spent 16 trillion dollars since January. The stock market could crash horribly if our dollar goes under.

    Hello Stokerman. What a coincidence that you posted a review on a shelter, I've been educating myself on one person shelters during the last couple of weeks.
    What is your opinion about the current U. S. Army's "Improved Combat Shelter" (ICS) And the shelter you shared with us today?. I found the ICS tents ranging from $170-240 bones, that are graded from used (missing few parts) to unused (complete collector) grade with all components supplied.
    Just an FYI for those who aren't familiar with Military Surplus, or ANY Surplus for that matter, The term "Surplus" doesn't necessarily mean that the product is used and beat to death, it's a term also used to describe "Quantity/Overstocked" items, also when shopping for genuine Militaria, the word "Military Style" is an item manufactured to look like Military (Milspec) equipment.

    • @STOKERMATIC
      @STOKERMATIC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ICS are ok Eric - I mean, they are probably 3-4 lbs, and are going to be very similar in design to this one, only a single man style. $240 would be @ half off I believe. Lots of folks make 'em - but anything in the same price range is going to feature the same things: 8" tub, good zippers, fly w/portico, etc.

    • @ericdee6802

      @@STOKERMATIC That's what I have been looking at, a single Man. It would be interesting to know how much the Gov't payed for them?, But the two man you reviewed is a keeper, made in the U.S. by veterans is the way to go hands down. Not to change the subject, There is a small .22 cal rifle geared towards the Youth called "The Cricket" the company is owned and operated solely by Veterans and is designed to train our Kids in firearm safety and proper shooting technique, pretty awesome.
      Thanks for sharing and demonstrating the shelter Stokerman, let's keep our Vets occupied with positive purposes.🇺🇸✌️👍

      @ Eric Dee we in the Army use the lite fighter now but we still use the ICS I think both are good you just need to use it on the right time..lite fighter is good for summer and spring but you can get the windbreaker to make it a 4 season ten but the ICS is like a terminator it’s best to use it in the winter and fall but during the summer it’s ok too you just need to open one of the inner door and leave the outer mesh close just for ventilation.
