    Hey and good luck getting rid of the Cancer. Wife just went through it also we got it out of her now so hoping it does not rear its ugly head again. Ive been super lucky and not had to deal with it knock on wood. Hope I never do. Keep your head high and keep hiking. nothing is better for you then loosing the weight and exercise.

    just so you know... those are called Vestibules. Festivals are a place some people use their tent and their tent's Vestibules. Sorry to nitpick, just wanted to help you avoid that mistake going forward. Im a big guy 6'3" and 350+lbs with a LF1 as well and I would have loved to have seen this video before I bought mine a year ago. This exact market (big guys hiking/camping/backpacking) is relatively unexplored and therefore a great market to tap into. You're on the right track. Keep it up.

    Thanks for the review, one of the best I have seen on this tent. I’m with you brother, I,m a retired Air Force guy that had a bunch of back issues that caused weight gain due to zero activity. Things are better now and I’m back under 280lbs and dropping all the time. I agree there is not much out there for big guys, I use mainly surplus stuff for my gear. For a sleeping bag I use the softy elite one from Snugpak, it has a baffle system that opens it up to fit a bigger guy. I live in FL so I only need the level one but they make them all the way out to a four season bag. Keep up the good work Brother.

      Thanks for commoners. Sorry I took so long to reply. I had some health issues but I want take the time to replay to everyone that took the time to comment. I use the enlightened equipment quilt. I sleep on my stomach and toss and turn so bags feel to stuffy for me. I hated the army mummy bags.

    • @bdfh1962
      @bdfh1962 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigguyshiketoo3732 I have also moved away from a sleeping bag, living in Florida I used to spend most of my time laying on the top of mine, but again not really needing a quilt I use the Snugpak Jungle Blanket, it has a soft textured side that feels almost like fleece and the other side is somewhat water repellent and as a blanket it is much easier to regulate the temperature during the night. The other benefit is that if needed you can sleep with your boots on without messing up your bed.
      Glad to see you back looking forward to see more videos

    I just paid almost full retail for this tent! Two guys in my unit have these. They were issued to them in a different unit. Ours will not be getting theses anytime soon if ever….. I have wanted one for a long time. They are a vast improvement over the ICS. I am so excited to try it out.

      Sorry it took so,long to reply. I had some health issues but I am trying to catch back up with comments. When I was in we didn’t have single tents since we were medical unit with large tents. So,e units had those cot tent combos which were so awesome but they were too big to pack in your gear and were sent with the unit equipment. I wish I knew about this tent when I was still in the military. I am kind of old school. I came in we still used the canvas shelter halves.

Not much room to move around so I will use mine for short hikes or weekend trips where I plan on using a tarp so I have a place to hang out outside the tent. I am thinking about (translation: try to talk my wife into) to get the 2 person version of this tent. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I have mine. Let me know please.

    Nice review man! Its an awesome tent! I've used its predecessor the ORC ICS (Improved Combat Shelter) one man tent in ACU digital camo. Great little tent too, but can't sit up very well (Condensation was bad) and its about a pound and a half heavier than the litefighter 1 tent. I noticed they recently changed the hub design material of this tent. It used to be metal now its plastic (Lighter?). So i think if your not using the cot attachments you could just cut them off. Being careful of course and then ditch a few of the stuff sacks. You could get this tent just below the 4 pound mark by doing so, if weight is an issue for you. But you do need the groundsheet so it evens out. Pack size is a bit on the large but if you separate the tent poles from the tent body and rainfly you clear up alot of space in your pack. Just put the poles in your side pocket of your pack (if you have one) and the rest in the main compartment. Our soldier use these tents! They are worth the money! Great balance of lightweight, livable space, easy setup, packability, durability and weather resistance! They do sell a 4 season conversion kit for this tent aswell but i think if your careful and have a good sleeping bag ext you would be ok without it. If your living in the tent your gonna need it. Stay safe! Hike on!!

    The basic and most important tool when it comes to survival and bushcraft is a healthy body and physical fitness unless it is done for pure fun.

    • @bigguyshiketoo3732
      @bigguyshiketoo3732  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I didn’t know better I would think you just called me fat…hope that wasn’t your sentient. But must say to be fair I would say being physically in shape and healthy body is not the most important think. I would say it is the mental toughness to push past pain. I was in the military for 22 years spending many months in the field and also several tours in a war zone. It is not always the studs that make it through tough training. Matter of fact it is the guys no one thought we’re to impressive that’s make it. Ego gets in the way for many fit people who rely too much on their physical abilties instead on their mental abilities. And when things get really tough your going reach full physical exhaustion and those that can push through that win.
      Watch all those reality tV shows and you will see the fit people tap out while that chubby guy is the last one standing. So yes I agree that’s e all should strive to be healthier I would causation judging a person by their waist size.

    • @gnozis33
      @gnozis33 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigguyshiketoo3732 First, yes you are fat my friend, but I don't judge people by their weight, but it is definitely a sure sign that they eat their emotions more than they eat to stay alive, which implies a psychological problem and weak character. I have at least 20 kg extra, and I'm honest with myself, I tell myself "hey you're fat, you're torturing your heart and your body", when someone tells me I'm fat I don't blame them because they're right. You said that the most important thing is a healthy psyche...well, along with a healthy psyche comes character, moderation, and discipline. Otherwise, separating those things could be characterized as cognitive dissonance. My ability to survive has dropped by double since I gained weight despite having a decent knowledge of survival skills. It's not survival to drive a jeep into the forest and set up camp. For me, survival means putting everything I need in a backpack weighing up to 40 kilos and often walking 15 km a day, but now that's impossible. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Serbia, we speak very openly but not in a negative sense, while Westerners, by our standards, are very introverted. I agree that weight is not the key, but in a real survival situation, physical and mental fitness is key, not fancy gear. Stay big guy, but I'm more rooting for your health.
