It’s because some people do not think it’s a big deal about their personal info or activities being viewed by someone in China while they got what they want from this app. They never thought of big data can track everything, influence people, but just think of themselves at the moment. Wait until it opens all the ports in their phones and start talking to them by itself before they know it’s serious.

One tip to know if your worried about tracking is that all big apps track you outside the app, If your using iPhone you can turn it off easily by going to Settings > Privacy > Tracking > then turn off Allow Apps to Track

Here in India we banned it as a protest over China building a dam around the Indian boarder and then opening its gates and flooding an entire Indian village in Arunachal Pradesh followed by Chinese killing our soldiers in a brawl over geopolitical dispute and we took action straight away by boycotting Chinese apps among other products.
Also on my visit to China the Chinese TikTok had a lot of constructive content about science, math, engineering, art and not to mention promotion of business on it which was rewarded, compared to western TikTok version where a lot of stuff was just opinions, people talking about their relationships failing, random dance videos etc and even with quality content about business promotion were shown they were shown very less compared to their random counterparts.
But then again maybe you guys have it different in the US so I cant really say much
Everyones for you page is curated to show them videos they watch. Havent seen any dance or relationship videos in a long time. Mine is mostly about current political news, investigstive journalism, my niche hobbies and some tv show stuff
So A) India banned it for political reasons just like the US is about to do even if we're pretending otherwise.
B) The CCP has an extreme amount of control over everything, especially online. More control means less freedom. This is their attempt to forcibly mold the citizens (including kids) into the people they want. Guess what? People will go elsewhere for fun content. They're not going to spend hours watching math or science. (There are ways to get around the Great Firewall of China.) Who wants to watch that after spending all day at school? And there is content on TikTok with those things. It's there if you *want* it. That's the great thing about TikTok is that it gives you what you want rather than force feeding you what an oppressive government thinks you need to have. You want vids on engineering? Go for it. There are plenty.

Most businesses even small businesses don’t use TikTok as the major social platforms. These protesters are a handful of people. I mean look at them. They need to walk around the block. it’s not that we are crying over a app… a lot of people have made a living off of Tiktok and have had their businesses grow because of it. So banning tiktok would be taking away their livelihood. I have learned so much about my home business because of tiktok, have met so many people willing to help me with my business. I have seen news footage not seen anywhere else and some pretty cool life hacks that have made my life easier. That is something worth being upset about. None of the people in congress represent me as a person. You know who tracks and hacks into our lives?? Our own government. You think banning tiktok is gonna keep you safe?? 😂 Please.
This! Old men just want to see girls in bikinis and thats what their tiktok shows them. But it has incredible content and allows much easier connection to people with similar businesses, hobbies or interests. It gives a direct line of communication from small businesses to their customers. There is so much great information on there to be found. Investigative journalism thrives on tiktok.
@@Wulture absolutely agree with you! It would be a shame if they ban it. On the flip side, I had to delete twitter cause of the absolute gross content (bestiality) that came up on my feed one day. Where is the regulations on that? I had to make sure my son didn’t have a twitter account. Twitter is banned in our home.
@@Raynecolwell yep. And the bill isnt only about tiktok. From what I understand it gives government broad powers to ban any social media they dont like to. The language of the bill is in need of serious overhaul because it is scary.

Their Terms and Conditions are ridiculous! Have you read them? They can take and monitor your keystrokes ! If the terms and conditions were different, this wouldnt happen.
