US social media is not banned in China. They left because they refused to comply with local Chinese law to keep all data on Chinese citizens inside the country. This is something Bytedance did with TikTok as they're all kept on Oracle servers in the US. US companies didn't adhere to their laws so they can't do business there.

Why is China talking about the US potential ban on TikTok when they can’t even allow Facebook, Twitter etc operate in China.

Additionally Douyin uses a different algorithm that promotes educational and lifestyle improvement related content, pushes down gaming, dance and music, and outright removes things like viral challenges, and promiscuity. All while heavily censoring political content. They are very different apps that just happen to be opened by the same company. TikTok ≠ Douyin.

its said that only time will tell..with that being said, and after over 2 months may I ask the same anchors to deliver if they stand with what they laid out to the public do the same and if they are willing to stand behind that today. I am personally troubled by the scilence and the anchors need to stand behind because the message is affecting over 160 million of my neighbors in my country. Mothers and fathers, single moms to older generations will lose their job along with major investors in a time our country is headed down the hill. This is not the case of 1 city or fewfamilies, but we are talking about over 50% of americans who are on tiktok. So for everyone who backed this ban needs to show us facts and evidence and not just what medias are saying. If you are risking people lives you need to be ready to be responsible and stay behind your words. We dont live behind a desk, behind a framework, behind politics, we live in a real society where I am still witnessing my 85 years old dad worry about insurance and work. We as peoople are very very serious than ever before because there has been nothing presented to us facts or evidence.

If TikTok is banned in the USA, it will be the best thing that has happened to the USA in the last 10 years. It doesn't matter who steals data or whether data is stolen. Almost everyone does that. Much more important is the influence on society and it is extremely bad. In my opinion, TikTok content is partly to blame for the poor state of US youth.
So you believe an app that shows videos is the reason for the state of American youth? It being banned is the greatest thing in the past 10 years? How is Tik Tok responsible for bad kids?
