    Hi, I'm coming to Medellín in 3 months from the USA & I plan to stay for 6 months and find a job once I get there. Is the tourist visa easy to get in Colombia?
    Or, should I get a student visa if I plan to stay 6 months and take Spanish classes?
    Besides a passport, do I need a visa at all?
    Also what do expats carry around for identification if they are only there for 3 or 6 months? Carrying a passport around is dangerous!
    Do you get a ID card when you get there?
    Thank you !

    I’ve missed something here, u arrive in January get 90 days, then an extension for 90 days, then ya about end of june start of July, I got all that, then u said “go and come” and then mention august, dose that mean leave and return from Colombia? Go and come 🤷‍♂️.. and then u said from august to December agin it’s the repeat 90 days and then extension... it’s the middle part between the 2 180 cycle that’s every unclear .. a reply would be extremely appreciated.! Started following u about a week ago, and this video is just what I need to know but not totally understand.. thank u

    • @HowToExpat
      @HowToExpat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The go and come back only works over new year, because the "clock resets" on new year. So if you arrive in Janaury and spend your 180 day you CAN NOT come back in for this year without a visa. Hope it helps. Sam

    • @TnStrading
      @TnStrading 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How To Expat hi, appreciate your reply .. so there is a July to July way I hear.. that would give me 12 months going by what u mentioned, but when the next July comes around I would have to leave for 6 months and then would only get another 180 days from January to July the next time around .. is there anyway around this

      I was confused about how I get my initial 180 days until I replayed the video. You said there is a way to extend a normal 90 day visa. You said it is explained in a link below. For me? I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to stay that long anyway. But thanks for the information.

    So can you work online for a foreign company instead of working at a place in Colombia?
