Hi thanks for making those informative videos. My question is if you leave prior to the 90 days does the Clock stop can you have the remaining days to re-enter if you wish or is it 90 days automatically and you just lose the rest.
Good question, the clock does not 'stop' as you describe. You could be a business man that comes every weekend for 6 months out of the year and that person would never have to renew the tourist visa because they only stay for 12 days out of the year. They would simply come and go with several tourist stamps in their passport. Hope that answers your question.
Can you do me a favor and answer a quick question for me. I have five days left in the year of 2023. Technically I have 175 days visiting and I renewed my visa extension for the extra 90 days the last time I was in Colombia can I technically go back to Colombia for the remaining five days? This will be my third time coming back
@@laurenlagringa I arrived in June 2024, and immigration did not ask me for anything other than to show them my passport, not even my onward flight ticked. However, on the checkmig form, which you must fill out online before your flight, did ask for my date of onward flight.
I am going on Oct 10th, kind of like the fictitious guy in your example. So you're saying that my extension won't be for 90 days bc it is based on the calendar year. So my extension would be valid for about 2 months ? How about this: what if I have a 2nd (EU)passport ? Can I exit and re-enter with that or will they know I'm the same guy ?
If you come on Oct 10th and stay for the full 6 months (requesting the 90 extension before Jan. 10th and you stay then until April 10th) you have to leave the country at that time. But you can do the 'visa run' and spend the rest of the 6 months you get for the year of 2024 and stay until July. No matter when you do the renewal of the 90 days or the visa run, you are allowed up until July (6 months) to stay in the country on a tourist visa. But 1 tourist visa cannot be longer than 6 months. If you do the visa run, it's because you're getting a NEW tourist visa. Hope that make sense!

how long do you have to be out of the country in order to come back? the remainder of the year?
What about not being vaccinated? Can I still go
You would need to check the airline although from family and friends visiting recently they have not asked for any proof of vaccination.
