The Allman Brothers were the best. Without them, an entire genre of music may have never been.

they sound like what we today call "progressive", and they were. New mix of different genre's and the members were ALL superb, just a perfect storm of talent. They always gave credit to who they learned from , were influenced by, etc. They grew up listening to old school Blues, R & B, Jazz, rock, country, etc. They sought it out - on record, inconcert, in person, etc. They are YOUNG here (I think Gregg was 20/21), and so talented cause they all started early with the music they loved.

@@anthonyantanaitis1720 I had a connection to the ABB, appreciate them so much. I think even more now when I think on how much better they are than 80% of what's considered good these days. And, I do like some music today. It had to be true talent then - no flash, no auto tune, etc. They are the real deal. I'm enjoying Gregg's autobiography as well.

Without question. I left my parents home for good and drove across the country for two months in 1995. I spent 60 days with this album, Eat a Peach and Greatest Hits. When GA died 3 yrs ago, it was the first time I was personally crushed by a musicians’ passing. Not a live performance anywhere that equals it.

The video, and audio were different. Just mashed together, to try their (the TH-cam editor) best, to make it look good.
The Greg parts (vocals) were easier to edit. The editor had *no* idea when it came to Duane’s guitar. It was a different song, in some parts.

My dad was in the Air Force in the mid 70s working at the base hospital. I don’t recall if it was a guy he knew from his side job at a local hospital or a civilian working at the hospital on base, but either way, the dude was Jaimoe’s cousin. He got my dad and a couple friends into the concert and they watched them perform from behind the stage. Unfortunately it was after Duane and Barry died, but still... I can’t imagine how awesome that must have been.

It's good to remember that the one guitarist Eric Clapton wanted to play in a supergroup with after his last supergroup, Cream, was finished was Duane Allman. For people who really know guitar, he is high up there in the all time best guitarists lists. So they formed Derek and the Dominoes, there was no Derek in the band, it was a combination of their first names; Duane and Eric. Even though Eric Clapton plays the solo riffs in Layla after Duane died, Eric has said that Duane played them on the studio album.
