    I don't have the type of money to buy a built vehicle like this but I appreciate when a client has a high ceiling budget when they come into the shop. Larry's channel has developed into a top tier "non domestic" automotive enthusiast channel

    • @shoveI

      It's good when wealthy people actually spend their money though, that's the only way any "trickling down" could ever stand a chance of working. We should always encourage people with money to enjoy life and spend the money - that puts it in the hands of the people who build these cars and all the parts in them.

    Isn’t it fascinating how a single vehicle can ignite such a diverse array of opinions and desires? From dreaming of an accessible version for the everyday enthusiast to appreciating the sheer engineering marvel, it’s clear we all share a deep love for automotive innovation. But here’s a thought: what if brands took note and started creating more accessible versions of these engineering feats? Imagine a world where more of us could experience the thrill of driving something truly extraordinary, not just the ultra-wealthy. Would you prefer a more accessible, albeit less specced, version of this masterpiece, or is the exclusivity part of the allure for you?

    • @tonyguerrero8644
      @tonyguerrero8644 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed. Was just thinking “imagine an accessible version 😮”. Standard Carrera, 991.1 MT. Oof.
      As well as other manufacturers.
      This one just rocketed 🚀 to the top of my list.

      I guess the paradox is always: if you take something truly extraordinary and make it less specced, it's not so extraordinary anymore?
      like, the more accessible version of this is a macan for 1/10th the price, or... a FB marketplace el camino with a lift kit, or...

    • @rahulsudhir666
      @rahulsudhir666 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exclusivity is definitely part of the allure. No question about it. The thing with this is the conversion costs. But I understand that it predominantly has to do with the really high specialist labour charges in the US. Just as an example, you can get a 997 Turbo or a 991.1 Turbo S used, get the KW Clubsport 3 way shocks with custom elements can be had in around 20-22k USD n set up for your particular needs or application. Setting up the remaining stuff such as underbody protection n bash bars can be done on a budget too. But the difference will come when it comes to setup expertise cos this man's been building race winning cars for Pikes Peak for ages. I don't think any large manufacturer will take that much interest n put effort in putting together a product which will cater to such a niche market. That being said, if you're not fussy about makin 800bhp, you can always head over to Tuthill Porsche n get an OG 911 in rally spec n with a manual for about half this asking price. They cater do both ends of the spectrum. Want a Carrera RS spec stripped out car with intricate interiors n Singer level work done, you have their 500+k USD restomod cars but they do deal with their older conversions around the 150k mark.

    i had to pull up the info on the "safari-esqe" KMR 991. KMR build incredible stuff but E-Motion being a more boutique type builder this car is really hard to be classed with other safari builds. this is closer to the Tuthill/Singer car or maybe Tj's car but even that doesn't classify it. I really had to go thru this video and stop it and try frame by frame to really get an idea of what this is. this is not a safari build this is a 100% purpose built fully fabricated off road and street car that nothing was left to chance. its so thought out and being that Joey was some type of suspension and motorsport savant for Porsche motorsport means this is so far beyond a simple turbo safari. its mind blowing to see and attempt to understand the ergonomics and the strength/reinforcement that's been done to tie this all together. its not buying a shitload of parts off a shelf its fully incorporating the mechanics of a road car then integrating a weird off-road motorsport type of construction based around a gt3 race car. its nucking futz. just mind bending to integrate everything so it is still a by design bigger turbo missle that can do what a street car does but only relatively aggressive off-road desert settings. again its unbelievable. holy shit pickles I want it!!! id be in jail in 1 hour or less I pretty sure but what a road hour it would be! cheers

    how utterly ridiculously killer!! what a weapons grade build just like the cup bodied turbo. just off the scale... way the f**k off any scale you could measure porsche coolness with. now what makes me see that theres never been a doubt that Joey knows cool shit...the gt2 tips and exits are a true measure of whether a turbo build is wicked. out of the park Joey, out of this world. this thing is out in another galaxy. i cant wait to see you huck this thing. what limits uptravel like a bump stop would on a prerunner truck? id love to build cayenne prerunners but that not even close to how badass this has got to be. another truly exceptional project from concept to completion this is as top notch as it could ever be. out-f**king-standing sir. cheers

    • @MrPimpmygun
      @MrPimpmygun 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HJK242 kelly Moss has been the leader in rally Porsches for decades, actually race used in mass scale, Russell built makes a great all carbon Baja build, Phillip Gemballa, or just Gemballa makes the Marsienne, a modern 992 based 959, raised and all on rally tires. Singer made the ACS but then Porsche sued after Top Gear featured it. That's why big companies don't do modern rally Porsches, the Dakar was always in the works and Porsche isn't afraid to go after people cutting up 991's and 2's to do Dakar spec cars. They're just more discreet then Ferrari about it. Also that's not true, there's a single Dakar that's doing a circumnavigation all off-road right now, Dakar around the world. They're very capable cars, another great example is SupercarRons Dakar, a fellow TH-camr, they send theirs and it does great. It's not the cars, it's the people buying them that are too afraid to have repairs on their Carfax because it'll lower resale value. Some are being hard, but most are garage queens, and that's not the Dakar fault. Don't hate the player, hate the game, every limited car for most people is an investment tool first and a car to enjoy second.
