As a former subscriber of Hello Future Me, I have to say that I am very disappointed in him, and what he said about some of you guys was incredibly dishonest, hypocritical, and poorly researched.
Saying Shalla-bal was Silver Surfer "in the comics" is still giving it too much importance. She was a Surfer for two issues of a spinoff comic that wasn't even about the Surfer or the Fantastic 4 specifically. This would be like saying T'Challa was the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy "in the movies", except it was really just a episode or two of the What If show.
I know you guys already wouldn't care about an apology from Hello Future Me himself (well, Random Film Talk wouldn't anyway lol) , much less some random commenter on TH-cam, but I would like to apologize for actually liking the "wokebros" segment of his video due to my heavy bias towards his content (which I've been watching for quite a few years now, and he can make some pretty good and even thought-provoking stuff up until the other half of his recent video), which caused me to frankly ignore this feeling i had when i first watched it that he was being very disingenuous towards most if not all of the creators mentioned in the video and actually agreed with it until recently. Needless to say I am very disappointed that he choose to do that and disappointed in myself for turning off my brain toward it and not pointing it out to him like a lot of people already did . You and Random Film Talk are amazing youtubers that provide some really great content and I look forward to your future videos!
The best of the ironic/hypocritical self-owns by Hello Future Me was the constant critique of the so-called 'Woke-Bros' for taking clips of RoP out of context to make an erroneous/agenda-driven point, then doing exactly the same thing when using examples from their videos.

Didnt watch his Rings of Power one because glanced at his Avatar one, and he wasnt very critical--was way too lenient a critic imo. I dont ever retain memory of movie scores unless theyre instantly iconic, like the scores from LOTR, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Usually when i take notice of a score, its because its doing a terrible job being apart of the film. To me a good score is a score that your brain unconciously accepts as fitting the world your currently inhabiting and therefore doesnt stand out in any way. Maybe Im alone in this but thats how I see it.
I think Disney/Marvel should have just gone with the character Nova, a female herald of Galactus, which I think has a better design than Surfer's to boot.

Glad Hello Future Me pulled off that stunt so I end up finding this channel (I knew most of the people here but didn't realize you stream together here) ... I noticed something was really off about the video when I watched it, knowing now that the video was longer and he cowardly edited the parts where he attacked you its state makes sense, someone like him who is capable of pointing out HOW something is bad but unable to point out WHY it's bad only undermines his integrity by doing so, he comes off now a spineless coward who is willing to delude himself and lie to stay in the good will of his "tribe". Also, how can you spend so much time talking about Godzilla and not mention Godzilla Minus One!?

If you don't have an answer that works in the story (just because someone was something for one time doesn't mean you can just take them and recreate the story with then where they previously weren't) the only other answer is an agenda, you want to send a message, in this case The Message. Platoon as a guy who is heavy in to quality storytelling you should read Fantastic Four 48-50 you may feel differently about the Silver Surfer after that. He is one of the most intelligently written & emotionally complicated characters Stan Lee & Jack Kirby created. Has the patience to break down things like how long characters are in a piece of media, and how much them being a bad character is going to affect it. Riot is fantastic at world building and character writing, unfortunately their games are far from what I consider good. Edit: Episode 3 of "The Last of Us" on its own is one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen. I consider this one of the best and most fleshed-out love stories I have ever watched from Western media. But in the context of the series, it is a waste of time considering that no one learns anything from what happens, and all it contributes to the rest of the series is a truck that lasts one episode, a rifle/pistol, and perhaps some ammunition. I would watch a whole series about Frank and Bill, but only if it is a real part of an overarching plot.
I love that you guys will simultaneously say it's the best werewolf transformation scene put to film and turn around and say it's the shittiest film ever but only by 2004 standards, not 2024 standards. 😂 pick a fucking lane, guys.
