Welcome to the Chesapeake, with your 6+ foot draft. Many years ago we said a Welcome to the Swedish boat CANTELLA. It was the start of several years of a great friendship. Torsten wrote several books about their cruising. I asked if my husband and I were in the book. He said I'd have to get the book to find out. Last year I was able to get the book from Sweden and in Swedish. I only speak English but Google speaks them all. We were there in the book. We had lost contact, but with the internet I went looking again and learned that both are now gone. Wishing you fair winds (and deep enough water.)
Thank you! I've never heard of Cantella, but will sure look it up! How cool that you are in their book, and good thing Google could do the translation ;) But sad to hear that they are both gone! If I read the book, how do I recognise you?
Thats a helicopter carrier, not a US aircraft carrier. It's likely a WASP class but could be an America Class if one happens to be on the east coast. ( Last I knew both were on the west coast )
@@linneasailing it's crazy how large they are, the aircraft super carriers are even more massive. Those helicopter carriers are about the same size as most countries "aircraft carriers". Look up "US Wasp class LHD" and "America Class amphibious assault ship" -"The Wasp-class is a class of landing helicopter dock (LHD) amphibious assault ships operated by the United States Navy"
You two girls look like you are having fun
Always having fun ;)

This is pretty cool actually :D Thanks for the explanation!
The bay can be quite dangerous with summer squalls.
Are there a lot of squalls in the summer?
@@linneasailing Not a lot, but worth keeping a careful eye on surroundings.
Its not usually gray. I spend much of my time out there wearing sunglasses. If you are heading north, Reedville is a nice spot to anchor.
Glad to hear in! I think we might have been there a bot early in the season to fully enjoy it...
