But the thing is though. Those changes WERE in canon intentional. It was supposed to make em more marketable to the public so that more peeps went to the park. That and their genome was incomplete, they had to fill it in something.
Also he recognizes the massive impact these films have had on advancing the science and our understanding of these animals. The obsession with dinosaurs that these movies helped fuel has led to an entire new generation of scientists who grew up with the original and untold millions in grant money over the years.
I want to have a job like him it's like my dream ever since i was a kid, taking a course in college same as him, but I ended up, taking education major in english, fulfilling my parents dream I mean they should atleast let me choose P.E but, well 🙂😶🙃

I hope you can still reconnect with your passion in some way, even if not as a paleontologist. Volunteering might be a great. Museums, reptile sanctuaries, etc. There are even people with TH-cam channels where they play with dino toys and have huge followings! So there is always a way if we think outside the box. I know it's hard to make time for those things and everyone's situation is different. My son has been in love with dinosaurs since 3 yrs old. I always think about how most of us don't get to follow our early dream careers. I hope that even if my son grows up and does other things for a living, he can find fulfilling ways to stay connected to what inspires him. Here's to your love of dinos!

Well, elephants aren't big hippies, neither are rhinos, or buffaloes, or moose, and definitely not hippos. Coming near apatosaurus would be same as coming near 10 times bigger African bull elephant.
And probably also not true to real life. Hippos, elephants, moose, and rhinos are all large herbivores...and are all 3 times more likely to turn you into a statistic than your average predator during a close encounter. I cant imagine walking up to a wild sauropod being a very smart idea
That kid was me up until I had to decide where to go to college and discovered paleontology is NOT a lucrative field and because of fossils being continually found by advancing research or destroyed by unfavorable conditions, it's increasingly unlikely you'll actually make a huge break through nowadays :/

The Pterosaurs evolved to have flight with thin bat like wings. The development of feathers in the theropod dinosaurs happened slowly and is believed to initially to have been for warmth/protection. Flight is believed to have developed almost as a by-product of having feathers in the small, tree climbing therapods, that took first to gliding. I guess the Pterosaurs didn't have the morphology to develop feathers so maybe the avian dinosaurs began to out compete them.

Actually, that's not true. If you're referring to the time that stegosaurus first appeared to the time that Tyrannosaurus first appeared, then yes, you're right, but the last stegosauruses? Stegosauri? Whatever, died off about 100 million years ago meaning that they lived closer to each other than we do to T-rex.

While it's true velociraptors were no where near the size they have been depicted in these movies... there was a species that was: Utahraptor. I believe they just called them Velociraptors because the name sounded cooler.

But they did that as a cover-up to justify the slander on Donald Gennaro. The book: - had a separate, non-lawyer character for the cowardice (Gennaro once had a much better personality; this enraged the filmmakers, who punished him severely) - had Cearadactylus (wasn't even replaced with Pteranodon, just cut entirely) - called these things Deinonychus (the more accurate name) Jurassic World: - WHY DIDN'T THEY START SAFER!?
Why tho? There are already dromeosaurs that are the same size of the Jurassic park ones if not even bigger, it would be pointless to modify a much much smaller animal in order to make it bigger when it’s cousins were already that size or larger
The best thing these films have done was to instigate so many children to study Biology, Science and Paleontology. The mistakes made were not such a big deal compared to the amount of researchers that they helped to create.
I have a Bachelor's in Paleontology going towards a Ph.D and I can confirm I am one of those kids that loved dinosaurs ever since I popped out of the womb lmao I'm also going to volunteer at the Dino Institute at the Natural History Museum, so perhaps I'll see him there?? This video is really inspiring though, I can't wait until I actually get my dream job in this stuff!!
Velociraptors are actually supposed to be deinonychus. That’s why grant is digging up their bones in Montana rather than Mongolia where the real velociraptor is found. The movie creators wanted deinonychus but didn’t like the name so they changed it to velociraptor.
Best part of this video is he's not a snobby scientist that criticizes everything for not being 500% accurate. He's well informed and knowledgable, yet knows when and when not to throw his weight around.

The brontosaurus didn't even exist... it was an apatosaurus with a brachiosuarus skull attached... it was a hoax by a paleontologist who didn't want to fall behind his competition.

@@joshtatko4806 Birds are absolutely reptiles, just go ahead and look up the phylogeny for any bird and you will find that they belong to the class reptilia. Birds (aves), turtles (testundines), snakes and lizards (lepidosauria), and crocodiles, caimen and alligators (crocodilia) are all reptiles belonging to the class reptilia.
The Pterosaurs evolved to have flight with thin bat like wings. The development of feathers in the theropod dinosaurs happened slowly and is believed to initially to have been for warmth/protection. Flight is believed to have developed almost as a by-product of having feathers in the small, tree climbing therapods, that took first to gliding. I guess the Pterosaurs didn't have the morphology to develop feathers so maybe the avian dinosaurs began to out compete them.

Actually, that's not true. If you're referring to the time that stegosaurus first appeared to the time that Tyrannosaurus first appeared, then yes, you're right, but the last stegosauruses? Stegosauri? Whatever, died off about 100 million years ago meaning that they lived closer to each other than we do to T-rex.

In Jurassic Park canon, the velociraptors were genetically modified to achieve a larger size.
But they did that as a cover-up to justify the slander on Donald Gennaro. The book:
- had a separate, non-lawyer character for the cowardice (Gennaro once had a much better personality; this enraged the filmmakers, who punished him severely)
- had Cearadactylus (wasn't even replaced with Pteranodon, just cut entirely)
- called these things Deinonychus (the more accurate name)
Jurassic World:

The best thing these films have done was to instigate so many children to study Biology, Science and Paleontology. The mistakes made were not such a big deal compared to the amount of researchers that they helped to create.

Velociraptors are actually supposed to be deinonychus. That’s why grant is digging up their bones in Montana rather than Mongolia where the real velociraptor is found.
The movie creators wanted deinonychus but didn’t like the name so they changed it to velociraptor.

The brontosaurus didn't even exist... it was an apatosaurus with a brachiosuarus skull attached... it was a hoax by a paleontologist who didn't want to fall behind his competition.
Dude.. it's actually an apatosaurus, brachiosaurus has their noses between their eyes, but the apatosaurus in the video has nose in front of their eyes, at the end of their face..
@@Masteroftheweb It was a camarasaurus skull. And fairly recently they decided that some of the apatosaurus skeletons they have are different enough to merit a different name so they used brontosaurus. So this dude is actually right for now.
