Imagine how painful for snow it must be when hearing Katniss sing it, and it being broadcasted all over the country. His first love wrote that song for him, so it must be really sad

This Version is so much better than the edulcorated one in Ballad. Rachel Zegler is EXCELLENT in this movie but she lacks one thing: tenderness. And this Hanging Tree version is so much more about two lovers finally living together. The guitar makes it so different than the Mockingjay Movie version, which is what 65 years of oral transmission should do. Transform a peaceful song into a hymn of revolution
This version is more of a ballad than the original. Sounds very nostalgic, like I’ve been in the past. When reading the book and listening to this, I can feel Lucy’s loneliness so much. It’s like she’s dealing with heartbreak and feeling of loss, but she knows she must face it no matter what. Tho in the original, it sounds more of a dark folk song where Lucy expresses angst. She had a hard life and still needs to fight for it to survive. Her soul is good but she must do terrible things to stop her sufferings. Both versions show how strong Lucy is, as a person. Great job to both Maiah and Rachel! ✨✨✨

Just finished the book and found myself here. I must say, this is an absolutely amazing adaption of the song. I kind of expected it to be the same as the cinematic version, but this is by far better. I'm probably going to go listen to all of your other adaptions now.

It appeared to me you took the effort to look like how Lucy Gray would, after the games, a little gaunt, a little terrified, with eyes that have seen things people shouldn't see. i keep coming back to this. i feel like there's such soft darkness to this version, it's not really a serious rebellion song like in the hunger games, it feels like more of a tragedy yet hopeful and with that same attitude that lucy gray has throughout the book and i love it

This is so beautiful!! Have been waiting for this for months and it was definitely worth it! Everything was perfect, the arrangement, the meadow, you! It appeared to me you took the effort to look like how Lucy Gray would, after the games, a little gaunt, a little terrified, with eyes that have seen things people shouldn't see. The eyes of a victor. The games left an impact and you represented it so well, the whole atmosphere of this video being a little different from the rest of her songs. i keep coming back to this. i feel like there's such soft darkness to this version, it's not really a serious rebellion song like in the hunger games, it feels like more of a tragedy yet hopeful and with that same attitude that lucy gray has throughout the book and i love it
