Hi everyone! This is my musical arrangement of "Deep in the Meadow" from the Hunger Games and the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins! I hope you like it :) I did my best to create a Lucy Gray version that sounded like the original with some modification & tried to make it feel like a soothing lullaby. Love you all! :)

@Millyra eh, not really. Jen is a bit pale compared to the book version but Katniss wasn't coded as a Native or person of any color. If she were, there's be much more to it than olive tone. It would be explicit, like in Rue's case.

I don't know music theory words, but I really like how you go "up" at the end of each verse like "where I love you" and "they'll wash away". this is so soothing to listen to
This song makes me think of the moments that she and Snow spent together, and breaks my heart think of how it ended and how those moments meant nothing after all.

Deep in the meadow is the song I imagine singing to a little kid or to someone who cant sleep. It was really beautiful and I dont know if there are anymore lucy grey songs in the book but I have really enjoyed hearing your interpretation of her songs. Keep singing your song!

I'm sorry to hear you suffer from anxiety too- it can be so hard sometimes. Music is an amazing way to help sooth and heal! When I first started making music, I just explored on the piano, playing notes and finding chords. It was really soothing. Writing songs becomes easier the more familiar with notes and chords you are, so I'd start there :) (writing poetry can be a good place to start too)
I write the most when I'm just sitting in a quiet spot with an instrument. I let myself explore however I'm feeling and follow those emotions and thoughts as I noodle on an instrument. Sometimes nothing cohesive comes out and other times things start to fit together- words and melodies and pretty soon a song will begin to form :) like carving a statue - it takes time to whittle it down and get the details right.
You already have everything you need to write music inside your heart and mind. It just takes time, patience, and self acceptance. You got this❤
If you don't know how to play any instruments you can try listening to instrumental music and practice writing lyrics and vocal melodies to the music you hear :)
