  • This is short 3 minute video about my Zoom Lecture and Workshop.
My Lecture and workshop are even better now with all the practice. I now use 3 cameras, one on me and the quilts, an overhead camera to demonstrate how to cut and rearrange the blocks and a close up camera on the quilts so everyone can see the the designs in more detail.
If your guild is interested in a lecture or workshop please go to my website at questioningqui....
Or you can email me directly at brita@questioningquilter.com.
I am also be offering this lecture and workshop in person.
I live in the greater Philadelphia area but don't mind travel.
    Brita

This video really drew me in. I think your presentation here is a little more low key than the others I've watched. I think I've watched them all - several times. They are a perfect length - I don't have to schedule time, I can watch one on the fly. Instructions are very clear and east to follow. Again, love the lower key presentation. Really eager to see the next one. Thanks for doing this.

I am so happy that you like the videos. This is the first quilting video that I did and it is a promo for my guild lecture. I joined Global Quilt Connections and the wanted a 3 minute video describing the Zoom lecture that I offer to quilt guilds. I had really no idea what I was doing. But after it was done and posted, it made me realize that TH-cam videos were something that I could do. It took a while before I started making the tutorials, but this was the start.

The black and white quilt was a real surprise....the pattern dances. I think you should call it MIRAGE as it dances like the distant landscape on a very hot day. 💞💞💞.
Just started watching your channel after it popped up on my YT feed. I'm hooked! Love the way you are experimenting with ordinary blocks to make really creative quilts. 💞💞💞

I am so happy that you like my videos. I call that black and white one, 4-Patch illusion but your suggestion is really good, sorry I didn't know about your suggestion sooner.
Thanks so much for subscribing and for all the kind words.

@@QuestioningQuilter what are the size of the squares. I'm trying to do one of your disappearing 9 patch but it's not coming out right. It could be I'm trying to see with a cast on. Lol

@@dianaalkire7031 One of the really fun things about Disappearing 9 Patch blocks is that the math is really easy. The blocks are cut into quarters.
Take the size of the center sewn square and divide by 2. This will tell you how far from the edge of the center block to cut
For example if you make a 9-Patch with 5" charms the center block of the 9-Patch will measure 4 1/2" because of the seam allowance. So you would cut 2 1/4" from the side of the center block, then 2 1/4" from the bottom of the center block.
Let me know if this makes sense.

How do you cut the last block?

    • @QuestioningQuilter
      @QuestioningQuilter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The last block is a disappearing 4-Patch and is cut just like the other ones shown. I have a pattern for this quilt on my website if you are interested.
