    I have both the IXO5 & the IXO6, the IXO6 is streets ahead of the IXO5. The IXO6 is quieter than the 5 & much more comfortable in the hand. Even though both versions have the direction switch on the top, the 6 is a much smoother & easier to slide switch. The switch on the 5 is a bit harder to move with your thumb & has a notchyness to it, the real deal breaker on the 6 is the variable speed & much better light that also comes on just before the tool starts spinning. Both the 5 & the 6 both spin at the same speed of 215 rpm, it does sound as though the older 5 model is spinning faster but its simply noisier giving the impession its faster. I know this as I tested both drivers with a tacho on them & got 215 rpm on both.

    My little, but powerful, Black&Decker is dead. That's why I bought the IXO 6 two days ago and it's great for what it is.

    I have a 2013 IXO. Can count on one hand the number of times I've had to charge it. Great tool for small jobs in the house you don't want to bother going to garage to grab big power tools for.

      It’s a great tool... the newer versions are improvements, but 90% of it is just turning whatever bit is inserted.
      And that hasn’t changed since the first version.

      Thanks!
      The IXO is a great tool and the 6th gen is a good deal better than the 2nd gen as the video shows... and if they added a torque limiter in the 7th gen it would be perfect. :)

    Would you say the new one is worth twice as much as the old one? Currently the old one is £25 whereas version 6 is twice as much

    • @sterntechdaddy
      @sterntechdaddy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say yes… but I’ve never owned the 5th gen model - I jumped straight to the IXO 6 from the IXO 2 in the video.
      If you’re tempted by the accessories then consider the IXO 5 I instead.
      They look a bit strange on the IXO 6 and clearly weren’t designed for it.
      They made the IXO 6 fit the accessories rather than the other way around.
      I’ve made a video about that too.
      The IXO 6 is great, but I wasted a load of money buying the accessories so I’d say get the IXO 5 if you like the accessories, otherwise get the IXO 6.
      🙂

    Moving the switch was a horrible mistake. Now you either need to use two hands or change your grip to change directions. Absolutely idiotic decision.

    • @sterntechdaddy
      @sterntechdaddy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a juggle to change direction on the IXO 6, but I was always flicking the switch on the IXO accidentally - which is potentially more damaging.
