  • Can the fanttik NEX L1 PRO beat the Bosch IXO 6 to become the best mid range electric screwdriver?
    Watch this and find out!
Here's the timings... and some extra comments...

You can buy cheaper electric screwdrivers. You can also buy more expensive ones.
But in my mind the IXO 6 was the one to buy before the NEX L1 PRO came along. It's the price point where you get a good product that will last and do the jobs you want without being excessive.
Why buy a Ferrari when a Lotus Elise gives you the same thrills and change?

I've also done a full unboxing for the NEX here: • fanttik NEX L1 & L1 Pr...
The IXO 6 is a great tool, and I bought one years before I got the NEX L1.
I also haven't considered the extras you can get for the IXO in this video.
    See here: www.bosch-heroes.com/en/ixo/i...
Not sure why the people in the image are finding the spice mill grinder so much fun, but the rest of the range might be appealing to some people.
To be fair to Bosch, there is a torque adaptor for the IXO 6 for an extra cost. I've not tried it out and the IXO light could also be covered with a bit of tape to reduce it's intensity.
I'm never going to get rich from this, but it is nice to get something... So if you've watched this video and it influenced or helped you then please click Like and Subscribe.
Bosch will need to up their game for the IXO 7.

You can get a torque adjustment accessory attachment for the Bosch which makes it more useable for less aggressive requirements. Also some other accessories for drilling, right angle screw-driving and for working near corners plus others are available. It’s certainly surprisingly powerful for such a compact device. Can’t replace a bigger more powerful drill driver but for small jobs around the house, flat pack assembly and awkward areas it’s pretty handy.

You can indeed get accessories for the Bosch… and that’s an interesting selling point… but…

The NEX has torque built in and the IXO accessories were designed for an older model - so they look a bit strange on the Gen 6 IXO.
But you’re right about having a ‘proper’ drill. The IXO isn’t the only tool you should own… there’s a range of household jobs.
I found most of the accessories for the IXO largely pointless - I only really use the cutter on the rare occasions I get a large cardboard box that needs to fit in the recycling bin.
I also use the charging holder… which effectively means all other accessories become a chore - the IXO won’t fit in it when any of them are attached.

Was considering one of these until I seen the Ferrex from Aldi, excellent piece of kit, also has a torque as standard👌☕️

      Yup…
I already owned the IXO and Fanttik sent me the L1 PRO for free to review.
Otherwise I’d probably get the ALDI one too…

Not having any luck purchasing the Nex L1 Pro in the UK. I see this review is over a year old so are they defunct as far as the UK market, now?

I can't say for sure... but 've just had a quick look and I can't find it for sale anywhere in the UK.
You could try asking on: fanttik.com/

I thought the NEX L1 Pro is more noisy at max rpm

      @sterntechdaddy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great point - and something I didn’t consider.
It does sound more ‘mechanical’ than the IXO.
Bosch have obviously spent time muffling the noise and in that respect it is better than the NEX.

      @@gasolin75 I don't own an IKEA Fixa - so that's a helpful video.
Note that its for an older IXO model - not the IXO 6.

@@sterntechdaddy Majoir difference is variable, adjustable speed but torque and rpm should be the same, personally i would like something a little faster like 50% higher rpm ad adjustable speed, have had the ixo 4 since 2015

    • @sterntechdaddy

@@gasolin75 Isn't the battery better on the IXO 6?
It's not something I'd consider as I've never had a job for my IXO that lasted longer than the battery.... especially when I just pop it back on its charging stand when I'm not using it.
I quite like the RPM of the IXO 6 - with higher RPM you risk shredding screws and screw holes - but that could be handled by a torque setting.
Generally, I like not having to be too focussed on the tool and what damage I may do if I lose concentration when I'm working.
That's where the NEX fails... as its electronic and not mechanical torque, you get full torque for the first second of use - something I demonstrate in the video.
The IXO is about right for me... whizz the screw in faster and easier than doing it manually and then give it a tweak with a screwdriver just to check it.

To be fair, I use my IXO more than my L1 Pro.
And it looks like the basic L1 has been discontinued too.

I loved the older IXO more than the 6 tbh - on the 6 it is not possible to reverse direction without using two hands (fiddly recessed switch)
