Unboxings, fixes and advice used for showcasing customer repairs and builds.
I'm not expecting many views for my videos because they will often look at very specific issues that I've come across when repairing, upgrading or building customer computers.
Some customers really like to know what the problem with their PC was and how I fixed it. So rather than explain things over an email or a phone call I decided it was more efficient to make a video instead.
Sometimes these might be the same specific issue that you, the viewer, are having.
If you find anything interesting or helpful then click Like and Subscribe to say thanks!
Using the Ko-fi link is a small price to pay if my video saved you from your local PC repair shop charges.
And if you dislike something then have some e-courage and explain why in a comment. Especially if you think I've got something wrong. I won't mind and it might even help me get better at this.
But if you swear in your comment I probably won't approve it.

OpenRGB with Multiple Fans and Other ARGB Devices *GUIDE* in English.
This is how to get multiple ARGB devices working together. Seven ARGB fans, graphics card, RAM, motherboard LED's and a case strip. It's about buying what works rather than getting what you've bought to work. There's a difference.
The PC also has an NZXT Kraken with three LED fans and a SoundBlaster AE-5. There's also a Logitech mouse which OpenRGB also detected. I wasn't expecting that, but as my hand is usually covering the LED's when the computer is on it's cool but not important.
Generally...
I'm using NZXT CAM to control the CPU cooling and L-Connect 3 for the case fan profiles. There's a balance between cooling and noise so being able to adjust fan curves is important.
You need CAM for the Kraken screen anyway so for simplicity it also controls the fan LED's.
Sound Blaster Command sets the AE-5 logo lighting - no strips are connected to complicate things.
Everything else is controlled by OpenRGB with the Effects plugin. This configuration didn't work with SignalRGB as I describe.
I'm not sponsored by anyone and there are no direct links in this description, but here's a list of what to buy if you want to assemble your own sever fan ARGB system.
The case is the Lian Li 011D-XL but any case that includes an ARGB strip should also work.
The GPU is a Palit GameRock series card which has a separate ARGB cable.
The RAM is Corsair Venegance PRO but any RAM with ARGB should work.
The fans are Lian-Li SL-INF 120. There's one regular and six reverse blade. You'll need the controller I mention and the CoolerMaster splitter cable.
The reverse blade fans are really what make this look so nice!
If Lian Li is watching... sell the Reverse Blade SL-INF 120 fans as a pack of three with a controller please!
I'm never going to get rich from this, but it is nice to get something... So if you've watched this video and it influenced or helped you then please click Like and Subscribe.
You can also buy me a coffee using the Ko-fi link if you think I deserve one...

New Laptop Setup Guide *STEP BY STEP* in English (Windows 11 Version)
if i have a pc but want to reset it to do a fresh windows 10 install. is it ok to not have an internet connection?
You’ll need an internet connection later on, but for the initial install not connecting means you can setup using a local user account rather than having to have to use a Microsoft account. 🙂
Does it have wifi?
This version doesn't. But I think they do make one with wi-fi. www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B760-P-WIFI-DDR4 Not sponsored btw... just being helpful. 😊
only what i see there is cluster fuck of cables...
Getting obsessed with things you can't see isn't something I participate in. When the cover is put back on they vanish! There's actually over 50 cable ties used to group things up - and the cables were loose to show the connections for the video. They've been clipped up and are a lot tidier now the construction is finished. But it doesn't matter as the case is designed so the cables sit in the middle area anyway. There are vents on either side for the PSU/Drive HotSwap caddies and the fans. These areas are completely clear of cables.
Love it, we'll played Nic
Thanks! I get calls like this everyday. Maybe I'll record a few more... 😂
To be or not to be, that is the question

Thank you…. I have this problem too… finally…
Glad it helped.
Very informative and clear. Thank you 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
IF you skip the 'CONNECT TO YOUR NETWORK' step you will not be asked to setup a MS account. HORAH! @ the 'CREATE a PASSWORD' prompt, just hit NEXT. You may have to click it a time or 2 before the installer will blow on by to the next step. NOW, you wont have to enter your pswd every bootup. Unless of course you like that sort of thing. !
See 6:14 - this is what I do in the video. You can still use a Microsoft Account to sign into Edge and/or OneDrive after the Desktop appears though. But not having a password on a local account means that updating is much easier as it doesn't stall after a reboot. :)
Thank you so much Sir 😊
Glad it helped.
Thanks Alot. it really works. I was trying to resolve it from hours but i didn't. your video resolve my problem.❤❤

Pretty good video. Thanks for sharing! Anyone not in the know, Touchpoint is part of HP Support Assistant (which I find to be very intrusive in and of it self). Take care all and be safe out there. Be kind to each other!
It mysteriously got left behind after HP Support Assistant and other HP related software was uninstalled... on newer machines it might get removed more cleanly. :)

Glad it helped. If you want make the fix a bit less messy then see the follow on video. Link in the description.
What the office Suite you use, because Im using Libre Office But I have issues with the touch pad (as same open office ) ❤❤
I use Office 2021 because I really like Outlook. You should try calibrating your touch pad - they work better if you do that. And hardly anyone does this… 🙂
It says when I tried this and only I get is error 5 - access is denied.
Have a look at the follow on video...

I tried, Dism /Online /CleanUp-Image /startComponentCleanup & this did not work for me.
Have a look at the follow on video. Link in the description. 🙂
what do i do if after typing list part only the reserved and Primary partition is showing
Have a look in Disk Management to see how the partitions are arranged. It depends upon what stage you were at when this happened.
It is a wonderful device, but I am facing difficulty with keyboard shortcuts, and now I cannot use my device because I was not able to put @ with my account. How can I put the @ sign with my email? Please reply?
Check the keyboard mapping… if you have a UK keyboard and a US key map then the @ isn’t where the keyboard says it is. And vice versa. 🙂
Few of them comes as pending restart and remaining all are completed What to do ??
Restart and then run Windows Update again... sounds like it working... Just keep running it until it says you're up to date. 😊
This worked mate, cheers!
Glad it helped. Check the follow on video if you want to tidy up a bit.
Thanks Nic, for the new and updatet fix :-)

Hi Nic, your first vid was very well. Al went flawless. Do I have to follow these settings to?
Technically it’s a good idea, but home users probably won’t notice anything if they don’t tidy up the messy fix a bit. 🙂
Great tutorial Nic Thx 4 that
Have a look at the follow on video… it’s a more technically correct tweak to this fix.
@@sterntechdaddy I will thank you 😊
Will this corrupt my win 10 22h2 bro early i tried another option it completely destroyed my motherboard
It won’t if you follow it correctly. It’s messy as explained, but technically it’s the simplest and easiest fix for this error. See the follow on video for a tidy up. 🙂
Does this fix (0x80245006) error code too? My recovery partition is 911 MB, wouldn't that be enough to allow the update?
That's a separate error related to Windows Update. There's a few suggestions for commands that reset Windows Update if you search for the error code.
@@sterntechdaddy I've searched/watched several videos and gone through all the steps and nothing has worked. I've manually downloaded and installed the .CAB files myself and nothing has worked. I'll keep searching and hope to find a solution one day.
Does it say which specific update failed?
@@sterntechdaddy No, nothing shows as having failed. My Windows 10 hasn't updated since Sept 2023 (September 12, 2023-KB5030211). I get the following message: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80245006)". I am running Windows 10 version 22H2 64 bit.
Are you using a VPN? Or Sophos?
What spyware do you use, please .
If you mean which Antivirus software do I use, then I don't use any! I actually disable the Windows AV and run my systems without and antivirus software running at all. :)
Hi what do you mean by window AV , I have always had mcAfee .
Windows has Anti Virus (AV) included for free. :)
Still put mouse on usb.. Still not working. What's the problem
Have you tried a USB keyboard?
Thank you for your excellent video. I can suggest a very quick method, just heat the metal part, even with a hat dryer. The glue melts a little and comes off very well.
Other people have suggested using heat… I’m a bit reluctant to apply heat to 40 year old plastic… 😜 I found the glue used had deteriorated so the metal plate came off pretty easily without having to risk anything.
Fantastic demonstration! We are in the process of upgrading the ram & HD on one of these. Thanks for the video. Thumbs up!
Glad it was helpful!
@@sterntechdaddy if you don’t mind, what made you change your mind on Velcro versus the cage for mounting the hard drive?
Anything involving glue will deteriorate over time... so although the Velcro is pretty solid and will stick to itself really well, the glue used to stick it to the chassis isn't. There's natural chemical deterioration, but also the possibility of thermal creep - where heating and cooling affects the glue and the weight of the drive might cause it to slide and then fall off. This can't happen if it's screwed into a proper 2.5" to 3.5" adapter. :)
@@sterntechdaddy All good points. We’ve already completed the upgrade with the Velcro. Will let you know if any of that happens. Thanks for the video and feedback.
This is what I see! C:\WINDOWS\system32>reagentc /info Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration Information: Windows RE status: Disabled Windows RE location: Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: d7dbd599-....-11ec-....-d8bbc...0003 Recovery image location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition5\RecoveryImage Recovery image index: 1 Custom image location: Custom image index: 0 REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful. C:\WINDOWS\system32>
So the WinRE partition is the fifth partition of HDD0. 🙂 That’s the one you resize by shrinking the partition next to it. Follow this video… then check the follow on video to tidy up the messy fix.
I have 2 recovery partitions, is there anything I need to adjust or change before starting this fix?
Make sure you adjust the WinRE partition and not the OEM recovery partition. You can run reagentc /info to identify the WinRE partition. Then take a look at the follow on video. Link in the description.
@@sterntechdaddy So I can just leave the 2 recovery partitions (1.12GB and 20.82GB) as is? And just shrink the NFTS partition to 250 mb
Use the reagentc /info command to determine where the WinRE partition is. Then use Disk Management to find it and check how big it is. You shrink the partition next to it by 250MB and then add that 250MB to the WinRE partition as shgown in the video. The 20.82GB partition is the OEM recovery image - I tend to delete that to get the space back. It's the factory image with the version of Windows the device was sold with - not much use if the hard drive breaks as it won't work, and if you restore Windows using it then you'll end up with a very out of date version of Windows and loads of OEM bloatware. If your laptop is older then you might get Windows 8 or even Windows 7 - not Windows 10 or 11. But it delends upon how old the laptop is and if you bought it new or not. 1.12GB is pretty big for a WinRE partition if the reagentc command identifies it as being the WinRE partition, but the messy fix may still work and get Windows Update to install the problem update. If you're not sure what you are doing then don't do anything... you should pay a local tech person to sort it for you.
thankyou
You're welcome!
Worked like a charm, thanks alot @Nic Bunting
Glad it helped. See the follow on video to tidy up this messy fix if you want to.

Have you seen the first video?
I actually can't even comprehend how grateful I actually am! I've not had Windows updated for months due to that I've had problems with monitors flickering or the second monitor won't even turn on, buzzing or humming sounds coming from my microphone when I'm playing on Steam, I'm kind of hoping this fixes that issue but either way I greatly appreciate your genius! Finally part of the windows updated club once again. 🙏💯
It probably won’t fix the sound issues… but Windows Update will be a lot happier. 🙂
Probably won't fix it no. I'll try it tomorrow, literally only happens when I play a game on Steam, so weird! Hey windows being updated is definitely a positive.
Hi, I'm having problems connecting to my camera, I used it the first time and everything went fine, but now when I connect it it simply doesn't work anymore, it seems like the hdmi doesn't provide enough power, but when I connect a ubs it seems like it does too much energy, do you know how to solve it?
You need USB power for both the transmitter and receiver. Then they need to press the buttons so they sync. Then it worked perfectly for me. And still does. 🙂
@@sterntechdaddy I'm powering both with USB, but it still doesn't work, yesterday everything was fine, but now it can no longer transmit the image, on the computer it continues to work, but not on the camera, I don't understand and I don't even know what it could be.
If it's a laptop then check the display settings... if might not be giving a second screen output if it's got a laptop screen it can use instead.
This worked 100% first time! Thank you! :D

I have heard of people using microsoft accounts getting locked out of their laptop due to a problem at microsofts end (athough microsoft accounts don't require access to the internet to sign into the user profile on the PC) And the "reset your password through the microsoft account" thing doesn't even work properly half the time (ive even seen that go wrong in person, thankfully it wasn't my device, and as they didn't have any data stored locally on the system, i was able to initiate a factory reset of the laptop for them so that they could use it)
