Wow - love this! What an honor - it’s like being done on behalf of all the fans out there that experienced the same as this was a movie and series that has been in my life for 40 years as well
40 years?? I remember renting the video as renting movies had just started being a thing. The scene where Freddy's arms grow in Tina's dream terrified me!
I first saw the original Nightmare On Elm Street with my father when I was 2 years old It was the scene where Freddy was killing Tina and she was slapping at his face and it comes off and I said to my father "Daddy why does the bad man have pizza on his face" It is a memory that I hope I never forget Thanks for 40 years of great memories
Jamie and Neve got their legacy films, let Heather have a proper one! One connected to the first that could start a new timeline. I realize there are part 3 and New Nightmare. But just as there is Halloween 2 and H20, I'd love to see Heather and Robert get another shot at a new film ie Halloween 2017 but obviously better.
Seriously I enjoy watching videos of the behind the scenes of Nightmare on Elm Street and most importantly I really enjoy seeing both Robert Englund and Heather Langenkamp together I can see they're such good friends until now. They really made Nightmare on Elm Street an iconic horror movie franchise thank you the both of you.
I could see one scenario where he comes back as a weakened, old Freddy, but as the film goes along he gets a couple victims and he gets stronger, younger and then it switches to the new actor as a real passing of the torch.
It's so nice to see these legends. I was 10 y/o when I watched "nightmare on elm street" for the first time with my dad and a decade later I watched it again alone and it spooked me even more. I like Heather so much, she resembles my mom (coincidentally born the same day). Nancy, her character was so brave.
The original A Nightmare On Elm Street is my favorite film in my favorite franchise and it's beautiful to see Heather and Robert together! I can remember the first time I rented it from the video store and how the tape snagged right after Tina says "Please, God!" and it wasn't until years later that I found out Freddy's response was "This is God." Chills. Love this movie and Nancy is the best final girl ever. She suffered no fools. Wes Craven was a genius and is sorely missed.

Wow oh wow I am so so surprised that those two still hang out with each other all these years later they are like a family that is a good thing for them and I am happy that they still remember each other
Seen alot of Robert throughout the years, absolute legend that guy, but it was really nice to see Nancy. Haven't really seen much of her at all since she was in New Nightmare, as a kid when the original movie came out, I thought she was soooooo pretty and my goodness, she still is!
Great interview! I love what Heather said about having a strong female lead. That perspective made it so unique and interesting to watch. This angle stood out from all the other horror films back in the day!
I saw this in the theater when I was fifteen....it cannot be forty years later...you both look incredible....Thank you for an incredible scary movie that was only possible because of your immense talents!!!!!!
I remember back then at Comic Con, standing in front of Robert Englund, the dude who destroyed my childhood and scared the crap out of me. I wanted an autograph but was very intimidated and i could barely speak. So i told him my name for the autograph. And what did he do? Complimented my girlfriend for her looks and her clothing. So he basically stole my childhood and almost my girlfriend. What a Chad.
Since Robert appeared in season 4 of Stranger Things, I wish there was a way Heather can be on Stranger Things 5. Fun fact: Nancy Wheeler was based on Heather’s iconic Nancy in the Nightmare on Elm Street series. It broke my heart that Nancy was killed off in later NMOE movies. 😭
Probably the best movie experience I had in a theater was seeing Nightmare on Elm Street. You could hear a pin drop in the audience that is how much everyone in the theater was mesmerized. Great movie!!!!
Great interview! Annnnd, how about one final Nightmare film? Come on, come on! Ti West as director, shot on older film stock, practical FX, Nancy surviving Dream Warriors (Kristen's power helped keep her alive while the paramedics arrived in the "group" room. Funeral scene was just a dream, hence why Neil could see Amanda... again), Freddy makeup like 1 and 2, a dark and scary tone like the first three films. It's not too late. Robert isn't too old, not if the script is written to accommodate him. Low key lighting, the right Freddy makeup, a girdle and OG Freddy is back. He can even have minimal screen time, but spread around the film so that his presence feels bigger. A great Nightmare film doesn't need to have Freddy bouncing around all the time and doing crazy stunts either. Less is more.
Well, which do you want? You want Freddy 1 or Freddy 2? Cause the makeups for 1 and 2 are VASTLY different. He looks nothing alike in those two films. The molds from 2 were reused for 3 and 4, but degredation of the molds due to reuse caused him to look a little different in the subsequent two films.
@@ConstantineFurmanI’m pretty sure the movie won’t be the same Since Wes craven passed away 😭😭😭 without him directing the Freddy movies there not the same he likes them goryyyy and gothic
@@cinemacola6398 He's one of the only directors out there who has a similar style to Craven. His editing style is similar, as is his camera work and framing style. He even lets his characters walk out of shot while the camera holds still, then cuts to the next shot with his characters appearing from the side, camera racking focus on them as they enter the shot. Very much how Wes did the original Nightmare (Nancy walking in neighborhood at night, past camera, camera hold still, cut to sharp focus on police precinct, camera still, Nancy enters frame, rack focus from precinct to Nancy, etc). Very mysterious and fluid editing and directing style with often little camera movement. This modern style of constantly doing slow in camera zooms (Real zooms from the 70's were better, as they usually actually moved the cameras in, often at least. Dolly shots really) or always moving the camera is very tiring and annoying to watch, and Ti wouldn't do much of that. Ti also is one of the only directors lately to use older film stock, and make something truly unique like House Of The Devil. Even though I don't like the look of most digital movies when compared to how movies used to look, Ti's films have a better digital look to them than most current films. They cost little and look far more cinematic than much of the other bigger budgeted digital films of late. Give him 50 million for a Nightmare budget, and he'll make a damn good looking film that evokes a traditional visual tone and aesthetic! Cast an A list female singer in a role, release the film in either late summer or mid October, and the box office will skyrocket. 200 million domestic, 150 overseas, at least! I think with the right script, cast, and one of New Line's OG Elm Street producers on set, Ti would have the right ingredients to make a truly excellent and special Nightmare film. He'd think of something inventive to add, something like shooting the finale of the film on the original 84' film stock, to really mess with our heads, and would do it in a subtle way so that we don't spot it right off the bat. If I was an exec and the Nightmare right's issue was settled (How much does the Craven estate want? To me, while highly valuable, the Nightmare rights aren't worth more than 300 million), Ti would be my first choice for director, and definitely in my top 3 list of potential directors. Chuck Russell was originally in my top 5, but his Witchboard film doesn't look that great, not visually at least, and Nightmare film needs to look old school and creepy. Ti could do it!
1984, Dam! what a year for first in the series movies, the first A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Terminator, Ghostbusters, The Karate Kid, Police Academy, Gremlins, Beverly Hills Cop, The Never Ending Story. Never see the likes of that again.
