This video brought back memories of when I was a little girl. My granddad (my paw) worked at Thoni’s gas station. My daddy would take me there to see my paw. My paw wore a belt with a silver dispenser. He would always give me change from that belt so I could get an ice cold bottle coke from the machine 🥰 I miss those days and my paw. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, videos like this certainly do take us back to our childhoods. I am glad this one brought back some fond memories for you, of your grandfather. Great times!
Yes, those drink machines sure do take us down memory lane. When we first heard the piano, it was hard to talk over it for the video. We thought somebody was playing it, until he demonstrated it for us a few minutes later. Thank you for watching!
This brought back so many memories from my childhood. And, even later on! Do you remember when motel rooms had a bottle opener installed? Usually, it was on the door frame of the bathroom. More of your usual excellence. Got a good laugh out of your memory of the "Armstrong" TV rotator! God Bless!
If the video went off while you were watching it, I apologize. I realized I hadn't put a picture thumbnail on it, so I pulled it for a few minutes to get that done. It is back up now.
@christophersellars That's a beautiful area, as well. We were there 3 years ago. Ate at and reviewed a place called "Texaz Grill". It's hot in the summer, though.
I hate that I missed y'all this year, but I am so glad that I got to meet y'all at this festival last year. It was so freaking hot this year. Granite Falls will always be home to me, no matter where I live. When my mom grew up in Granite Falls, it was like Mayberry. I'm glad it still has the small town feel, even with its growth. I hope it always keeps the small town feel
Yes, we agree. We hope it always keeps that small town feel. We actually looked for you there Saturday, and I'm sorry that we missed each other. Hope you are doing well.
hey just getting a chance to watch this video hope you all weathered the storm and are safe hope you have electricity and no water or wind damage teresa says you are always in our prayers
We appreciate that so much. We are also thankful for the prayers, although there are people who were hit a lot worse than we were. We're up here at Mayberry Days, and we've had some wind and rain today, but most of it is gone now. Thanks for checking in.
@paulettebrochet2011 Yes, thank you. We are actually up in Mount Airy, for Mayberry Days. I think it was a lot worse at home than it was here. Not sure what we are going back to, but everything's fine with us.
A year and a half ago, we had to move. We now live on the outskirts of where an older Movie Star lived. There is only ONE traffic light in this town. The peace and quite is ABSOLUTELY wonderful. 7:01
Hi neighbors. We are Kevin & Linda you met at festival. Good to see our hometown on YT. Please add or Son and my sister to your prayers. They both have surgeries scheduled next week. See you at the tree lighting next😊😊
Yes, we certainly will pray for both of them, that their surgeries will go well, and they will recover quickly. We are also planning to be at the tree lighting. We really enjoyed meeting you both! Thanks for watching, and we will see you then!
Pop did taste better in the glass bottles and you took the empties back to the store and got like a nickel or ten cents a bottle you got back. 16 ounce bottles, great memories.
It was this past Saturday. I'm not sure of the date of next year's festival, but I would think it would be around the same time...around the 3rd weekend in September. The town's website will have that information close to the time. But it is something that we have every September. Would love to see you there.
Thank you so much looking forward for that next year then have a blessed and wonderful night always praying for you and your family in your church Shining Light

Yes, you just can't beat small town living! I'm so glad we don't live in a big city!
You guys, I luv yall. This town, let's just say Oliver Hardy. We are Blessed. 71 years old, my husband plus 3. Here still God calls us home.
Great video as always. Those old machines bring back memories.

@@NCMemoryMakers the one you work for
@TeachingHisWord Oh, okay. It's about 3 miles from there. It's not downtown.
