@jeffgordonsmom1730 Dear Jeff Gordon’s Mom, I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Gordon, and I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for Jeff being my favorite NASCAR driver and an incredible source of inspiration throughout the years. From the moment I watched my first NASCAR race, Jeff's skill and determination on the track captivated me. His journey from a young go-kart racer to a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion is nothing short of legendary. The way he handled the No. 24 Chevrolet with such precision and grace made every race a thrilling experience. His achievements on the track are remarkable, but what truly sets him apart is his character off the track. His sportsmanship, humility, and dedication to his fans have always stood out to me. I have always admired how he took the time to connect with his supporters, sign autographs, and make everyone feel valued. His commitment to charitable causes, especially through the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation, has shown me the importance of giving back and making a positive impact in the world. I had the incredible opportunity to attend a NASCAR race in person, and witnessing him take the lead and cross the finish line first was a moment I will never forget. It solidified my admiration for him and inspired me to pursue my own dreams with the same passion and determination he displayed on the track. Even though his racing career has concluded, his legacy continues to inspire countless fans like myself. I will continue to cheer for the No. 24 car with pride. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Gordon
Thanks for filming this I work at the sheriff office in hazelwood haven’t been able to go out and see for myself. Your doing a better job than the media at reporting this
People don't understand that the beach can drain out but this here is mud soup for the most part sand is easy but this mud is way different I hate you did not go and check that car😊
Thanks for the ride. I lived in Bethel 10 years ago. My house was a couple hundred feet above the Pigeon River--the river was at the bottom of my driveway. When I moved there, I thought the Pigeon was such a cute, little, gentle river, more brook than river really--around 40' wide and never got above 3' deep where I was; just right to wade around in on a hot summer day. In 2004, we had two hurricanes (Frances and Ivan) hit back to back. I had a front row seat to exactly how the wide but shallow valley I lived in got formed. From 40' wide, that river became a raging beast, around half a mile wide. The town of Canton was underwater, and the whole county was devastated. But not as bad as this. This is terrifying. I am so sorry for all the flooding and destruction. I live in Cherokee Co. now. We were very lucky to escape this nightmare.
As painful as this footage was to record you are so appreciated for documenting it. My sister lived in Wayne’s like and now Marshal, my heart goes out to you all.❤
I have a cousin in North Carolina, and I'm very concerned for her, her daughter and son in law and their daughter, my cousin's granddaughter. Her son in law is serving in the military. Please keep them in prayer. Her cousin is worried for her!!!!
Hiiiii, I’m from a Tropical Country, lived 12 miles in on the Bank of an Amazon River,no Roads,no lights, Rice Farming and lots of Vegies and Fruits, very populated, houses were built 8’ above ground,I remember One Flood where there was 5’to 6’ of water under house. My Father had to take a least a 100 of Cows across the River to higher ground, not all of them made it,we had our dogs, chicken, ducks, cats, goods for food, vegies, what ever we could, watching this honestly is than what we went through, omg, the devastation is overwhelming,I’m so sorry for these affected by this horrific Flood,God Bless, thanks for sharing,🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Bryan, thank you for posting this. This area Bethel/Cruso is our home. We have wanted to see the effects and you are the only one who has done this. It is devastating but we are not the only ones. We are praying for the many families and homes that no one has been able to get to yet. Again thank you.
Very sad for you all, can only offer prayers to help healing and mending ASAP. Your reporting is worth a lot and very well done - I think it means more than the noisy networks. Thanks for recording it for us all to see, and hope it raises awareness and that HELP is being given.
Thank you for covering this area. I'm from Canton and still have family off 110, Clyde, Asheville, and other areas impacted by this tragedy. I don't live there anymore and have been worrying non-stop, and the only way to cope is by watching footage. So, thank you again. Praying for everyone.
Thank you so much for posting this video. We used to live Waynesville and many of the places you showed I know well. I wish the whole community a quick and speedy recovery! Mountain folk are a different breed, you all will persevere!

Great coverage, Bryan. I'm originally from Waynesville, but retired in VA after 30 years in Boston. My family built a log cabin that is just below The Boy Scout camp in 1973. It was my sanctuary. So sad to see all of this. Thank you for your excellent videography. Love your old 4Runner! I bought one new in 2016 and I still love her. She has only 11,230 miles, so she will probably outlive me. Keep up the good work.
I’m so sorry for your heartache. You did a wonderful job describing everything though. May God carry you and your neighbors through this darkness and onto a path of recovery.
Thank you for this video. I'm born and raised in Canton. I moved to Wilmington 3 yrs ago. This is the 1st and so far ONLY video that I have seen from Haywood County. My mother and sister are still there and was completely cut off from communications until Sunday. Again, thanks for this video!
Thank you for the extensive footage. As a resident of the Appalachian Mountains in central Pennsylvania, these towns and rural areas you are showing look exactly like it does here in PA. So it feels personal. I've never before seen footage even close to the stuff coming out of North Carolina. Absolutely insane
My heart is breaking for ALL,who is effected by this hurricane. I live Colorado, but I have been on these roads and towns, when I used to transport horses and other livestock, driving in a 4x4 pickup, and trailer. I met so many wonderful people. I wish that I could be there to help. Many thoughts and prayers. God bless and be safe...
I have property and family in Haywood county…thank you so much for posting this..haven’t heard anything on news outlets about this county..mainly talk of Buncombe..blessings ❤
I grew up in east Tennessee, but my family on both sides were originally from the Canton area. I spent all Christmases and large chunks of summers there as a child. I had relatives with farms along the Pigeon in Bethel as well. So, I naturally wanted to see how the area was affected by Helene. Lots of info out there on Asheville, but not a lot on Canton. This is the best account by far of the devastation. Thanks for providing it, and I'm sorry for everyone affected by the storm.
Just heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing this Brian. The MSM sure isn't telling your story! I'm in Central Florida and we were blessed here, however this next one looks like it'll be heading for me this time. Please keep posting updates as you rebuild! All my prayers for all of your communities and families affected by Helene💔🙏💔
This is strange to watch. I never expected hurrricane destructions to be this bad. Sorry to those who have lost their beloved ones to this storm. Thank you Bryan for sharing with with the world. We hope your communities recover quickly. It's amazing how fast Americans have come together to support those hit hard in the affected areas. God bless
This is so hard to watch. i can't imagine what it's like living thru this and seeing the devastating aftermath in person. 💔 My heart just breaks for all the (people, animals, businesses, community's resources)that have been affected by this tragic hurricane. I wish i was able to offer some kind of resources to ppl in need. Unfortunately, im not able to, but i will keep everyone who has been affected in my daily prayers. God bless you all 🙏
Bryan, thanks for your post. It's easy to hear the emotion in your voice. So sorry your community had to go through this again. We love your town and will keep you all in our prayers. A friend in Murphy.
My mom, aunt, & uncle are in Madison county, off Hwy 209. I am praying for all y'all. She is leaving because her road has a partial collapse already and more is giving way daily. :(
@ianimal36 The force of the water and mudslides killed the livestock. They haven't been found locked in collapsed buildings, somel drowned in pastures, but plenty have been found in the river beds totally loose, not wrapoed in fence wire or even debris, but still DEAD. There was no place to TAKE THEM! You have NO GRASP of how bad this was. Whole mountain sides collapsed, bringing down trees, houses, cars everything! They had avalanches of water and mud, over and over. Roades and bridges are GONE.
Rough stuff. My heart breaks for the mountain communities of Western NC ( and Tennessee).I see the relief helicopters flying supplies in from Charlotte to Asheville right above my house…Be as strong as you can be, y’all.💕
Top notch footage and great explanation where you are and well done documenting where the water is/was. I am sorry for the losses the people around you have to endure. All the best for your recovery and rebuilding the place. I can only vaguely relate what it must feel like to see THIS MUCH devastation.
Thank you Bryan for your excellent video/commentary of destruction in your town. We cry and pray for everyone there. God sees all things & WILL help y’all. The world is praying for y’all. We send our love, prayers & aloha from Hawaii. God bless🙏🏻
Thank you so much for showing this. I’m a native Cantonian ,no longer live there but still have family there. The devastation is so much worse overall this time. This was heartbreaking to see. New subscriber here.
As much as I appreciate what you have shown us, I cannot click the LIKE icon. What you and the people of that region went through is horrendous. We get floods here, and some are bad. But I don't recall getting the amount of rain that hit your area. Be safe and may you all recover as soon as possible. I went back and liked this so he gets the promotion from TH-cam. I hope the people experiencing the destruction get all the help they need.

Thank you so much for doing this video. I live in San Diego and could NEVER imagine the reality of what happened. I've donated money to one of the organizations who is lending aid. I wish I could do more. God Bless you all.
Thank you for posting. I drove home (Haywood County) on Oct 1, so about 5 days after the storm hit. The main roads were okay, but there were still roads closed in Canton, long lines for gas, and I imagine cash only business. I drove in to check on family that I couldn't get in touch with. I guess all the cell phone and phone exchanges were down. My moms house was okay, but I didn't go to Jackson County. Will be heading to Sylva and Cullowhee tomorrow. Frog Level in Waynesville had definitely see high water which flooded all of those buildings. There appeared to be quite a bit of flooding near Eagles Nest Grocery and Hazelwood Elementary too. I hear things, at least in the city limits of Waynesville, are getting back to normal. The more rural areas will likely be challenged for a while. Glad you're okay. Again, thanks for posting.
I have liked his video. I am praying for everyone in this disaster!!!! I know the people affected as well as helping have to be overwhelmed!! I am just seeing the damage and asking God for His help for His purposes. ❤
Good morning watching from Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘 Sending best wishes for your communities Condolences to friends & families to those lost in path of Hurricane Helene So utterly devastating for all & all wild life, livestock & family pets ho have lost their lives as well 💕💕
The propane tanks are from homes or camps. The large tank going down the river is a fertilizer storage tank from a farm. I hope and pray for the best. Stay safe!
Thank you for filming this. Unreal. I'm so thankful my family is okay in Asheville that has been completely ruined. Heart breaking to see so much damage through NC. Praying for all the families. 😭🙏
Hey Bryan, my name's Brian too btw, and I'm a neighbor of yours living in Reidsville, NC, about 20 mins North of Greensboro, NC. I'm 44, married with 2 little kids, a 10yr old boy and 7 yrd old little girl, and brother my heart goes-out to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours brother. Know this, the Lord protected you. May the Holy Spirit comfort you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding, in Jesus' Perfect and holy name, Amen. There are new opportunities in the wake of this to be of great service to God and to His Kingdom. Wanted to tell you that you have a very clear and concise way of communicating, and also an easy to listen-to voice. You have an exceptional talent for "conveying" your thoughts, observations, etc. I believe that on this platform, if you told people the good news of the gospel, I believe you could lead many precious souls to the Lord. I'm glad you're okay and your family I'm believing are okay. God says "Fear not, for I am with thee.". So don't waste any time "worrying". If anything whatsoever gets too desperate in your area, whether a civilian issue or govt issue, there are ways and means for requesting assistance in whatever capacity deemed necessary and right according to the wonderful law of this land, The Constitution.
We'll get through this! Tough ole mountain folks don't go down easily 👊 Just so grateful that my family is safe. Frog level looked crazy Fri morning when we tried to go out from Love Ln in Waynesville...everything was under water. My parents live on Lake Logan where it meets Edward's Cove...Flooding above and below them but they were okay. My daughter lives in downtown Canton and the water was only a few yards away from their building. As bad as it looks I think we were more prepared this time, at least we tried to be...hard to truly prepare for a natural disaster 🙏
Prayers for all ya'll in the mountains. Prep by having a propane stove and plenty of propane. Gonna take a while to get the power back on. Are CB radios still a thing?
It's crazy because where we live on slightly higher ground we never even lost power...only for a couple of hours early Friday morning, but I have friends that still don't have power or water. One lives at the bottom of Cruso and the other at the top of Lake Logan. Certain parts of the county are destroyed and others left untouched. Praying for our neighbors 🙏
Hi Bryan, thank you so much for sharing this. Our place is across from Camp Hope and this is the first we've seen of what's going on up 276. If you've got more film from when you were up there I'd be grateful if you shared it. Seeing this is very hard but not knowing what is happening is even worse. Stay safe and thank you again.

Heartbreaking scenes from Haywood County in Western North Carolina, where flooding and storm damage from Hurricane Helene have caused widespread devastation. The impact on the community is immense, and my thoughts are with everyone affected. Praying for safety, resilience, and a swift recovery for all those facing this difficult situation
Omg I used to live on hwy110 going into Canton. I grew up in Waynesville so haywood County is where I lived 31yrs and I'm 43 now. Nothing looks the same anymore MY heart and prayers go out to all the survivors and families of missing loved ones.
My Daughter lives in Clyde, NC just outside Canton on high ground and she is safe. She managed to find enough signal to get a text out to me after the storm. Thanks for the posts on Haywood County.
Thanks so much for posting this. I just moved from Bethel less than a year ago. I lived off of Cathey Cove road, and you started your video right at the intersection of it and 215. Crazy.
My heart breaks to see all the destruction. Praying everyone is safe.glad u r showing other parts of n.c.that was impacted.the news media just shows ashville
Thank you for sharing this. I was raised in Bethel, but live in VA. My sister lives in Peters Cove and I have had no contact since Thursday. I heard from my nephew in Candler that they are all ok. Just wish the phones were working. Our news up here is focusing more on Asheville. This gives us an idea of how severe the destruction is.
I lived in Haywood County for 13 years. Moved back to West Georgia in '06. Have friends in the Bethel area. They aren't far from Jukebox Junction. Within sight of it actually. I remember many floods while living there, but nothing to the magnitude of this. My thoughts and prayers for all the families who have lost their loved ones and for everyone affected by this storm. Blessings from Georgia 🪶✨
I've not been in Haywood County for a long time. Looks worse than the tornado damage from the tornado I think like in 2004ish...Thank you for the video. Hopefully the community will come back stronger and be more closer knit.
My sister lives in Clyde and my mom in Waynesville. I went to Canton middle and then graduated from Pisgah in '02. This is a gut punch, I feel like there have been multiple 100 year floods in the past 20.
i am sick to death about this...i have sent money to real efforts on the ground....this is going to take a long time to restore....everyone that lost your houses do not sale your property....stay there and rebuild the americans that are true and patriotic are behind you. i am several states over and i am praying daily for you.
I agree with you, the mountains are still gorgeous and beautiful, just rearranged. Everything can be rebuilt and create jobs doing so which will help the economy and employ Americans.
Thanks for showing what it looked like before the hurricane actually hit. See that people tried to leave and couldn't. Hopefully people got to higher ground before the flooding happened.
Thanks for getting out and around and showing us here on the other side of the world, in Australia, what you are going through. The "main news" never comes close to what you're doing.

Thank you Bryan for high quality video.
Rough stuff. My heart breaks for the mountain communities of Western NC ( and Tennessee).I see the relief helicopters flying supplies in from Charlotte to Asheville right above my house…Be as strong as you can be, y’all.💕
Prayers for all of us in the southern states.😢 our devistation is terrible.
Thanks so much for the video.I appreciate your professionalism. I've seen alot of videos and yours is top notch! Prayers for everyone.
Top notch footage and great explanation where you are and well done documenting where the water is/was. I am sorry for the losses the people around you have to endure. All the best for your recovery and rebuilding the place. I can only vaguely relate what it must feel like to see THIS MUCH devastation.
Best video I've seen so far. Thanks Bryan.
Thank you for this. I live near you on Sonoma Rd. It breaks my heart for all the people that have lost so much!
Well hello neighbor, I live in the curve of Old River before Wells and we share a ridgeline. Appreciate you doing this video.
We will recover! “Canton, Cruso, Bethel, Clyde, Waynesville, Maggie Valley and JCreek STRONG”

Thank you for doing this. It is so very helpful. I appreciate the risks you took to help keep everyone informed and safe.
Having been raised in Haywood County, this makes me sick. I have made donations, but feel that it not enough.
FANTASTIC FILMING !!! Thank you!! 😢
Thanks to all the local people filming the awful flooding. So sad!
Good morning watching from Western Australia 🇦🇺🦘
Sending best wishes for your communities Condolences to friends & families to those lost in path of Hurricane Helene
So utterly devastating for all & all wild life, livestock & family pets ho have lost their lives as well
💕💕
The propane tanks are from homes or camps. The large tank going down the river is a fertilizer storage tank from a farm. I hope and pray for the best. Stay safe!
Did you ever think of hydroplaning in mud?!
Thanks for sharing and sorry for all your losses.
Thank you for this coverage of the indescribable loss in our beautiful communities of Haywood County.
So sad for some of the most beautiful countryside in the US
Thank you for filming this. Unreal. I'm so thankful my family is okay in Asheville that has been completely ruined. Heart breaking to see so much damage through NC. Praying for all the families. 😭🙏
If you need a shoulder to cry on…
Hey Bryan, my name's Brian too btw, and I'm a neighbor of yours living in Reidsville, NC, about 20 mins North of Greensboro, NC.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for showing and your narrating of the massive damage.. God bless you all. Beautiful back there!
Really good, one of the best ive seen. Love how you told days, dates and places. If your not from there it really made it better
Thank you! That's my goal, to cover things clearly so people can understand the scope of the damage.
@@AskforBryan did you see this comment? I think it's worth looking at.
and thanks for your video, sorry for the hellish weather mod attack on you
good people, that is what this was.

Seen much on the news?
Seen huge coverage of Melvin?
The roads up here in Western North Carolina are a mess, or iffy. But the big thing is all the hotels and restaurants are closed! The media would be inconvenienced by coming here.
At my house, in West Asheville, I have a weather station, we got 1 YEAR & 4 MONTHS of rain in 3 DAYS."
Thanks you for your informative video, I think you are so brave to drive around after the aftermath of what was such a dangerous hurricane. Be safe in all your videos. May God keep you safe, and rebuild your town. This too shall "pass"
Heartbreaking. Continued prayers 🙏
Very tragic, but Excellent video. Every word comes out clearly! You have a very good voice!
This is sad. My cousin used to have a bakery in Waynesville when she lived there. It was nice there. I'm praying for everyone in western North Carolina
Whitmans? Loved it !
Thank you for documenting this for historical purposes.
Brian I live in Affton Missouri my heart goes out to you and everyone with you thank you for the video and Godspeed
Heard someone say it is a 1000 year flood.
i am sick to death about this...i have sent money to real efforts on the ground....this is going to take a long time to restore....everyone that lost your houses do not sale your property....stay there and rebuild the americans that are true and patriotic are behind you. i am several states over and i am praying daily for you.
AMEN!
Im so sorry for what happened to you and the community..... Prayers to all of you.
Thanks for getting out and around and showing us here on the other side of the world, in Australia, what you are going through. The "main news" never comes close to what you're doing.
The work to clean up is beyond daunting im exhausted just watching your vid and thank you
Agreed. There's a long road ahead.
As a North Carolina native it hurts me to see this . Love my home state praying for you all
God bless 🙏 you ...prayers from Chicago ❤
