Not only can I snooze my alarm in my sleep, but I can walk across the room and turn one off. So I downloaded an extreme alarm clock app... Now I can also solve math problems on my phone to snooze while dead sleep.
I tried that. I just turned of my phone🤣 I have an alarm on my phone and on an alarmclock at the other side of the room. Oh and one in my bathroom. All of them go of at 6:00, 6:02 and 6:04. Its works for me.
When I was in high school, I placed an alarm outside of my parents door and set my phone alarm to go off 1 minute before that one would. Every morning, I got up real fast to deactivate that other alarm before 1 min XD
I think I'm going to start off small and aim for 7am daily. 😅 Struggling with depression right now and taking better care of myself. I get sleepy after I eat breakfast and journal, but never allow myself to go to bed again. I start my day with gratitude by kissing my pillow as soon as I wake up. 💛 Thank you Amy.
First thing I would say that I'm sorry about my bad English, but I think I could help you. Amra what about you Try to sleep a nap in the afternoon between ( 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. ) for just 30 minutes because you don't wanna get in deep sleep and wake at 3 a.m. :D so just 30 minutes for just Charging your energy. and That's it! hope this helps you, and I recommend that you search about it more. Good Luck!
I turn off the alarm while still asleep. So I downloaded an alarm app that doesn't stop the noise until I solve some math puzzles. Then I became the master of doing the math very quickly to go back to sleep. It's tragic
you need to try an app call Alarmy. In order to turn off the alarm you need to take a picture of something you choose. I choose a pic of my fridge, and i dont have any choice of wake up every morning to take the pictureof the **** fridge. Also, you can not snooze for more than 3 times, and you cant´t turn off the phone when the alarm is ringing, and btw it sounds like a nuclear alarm or something.
That's exactly my situation! I'm using an app called Alarmy and it's a godsend! The only difference being now, from time to time, I have to up the complexity level of puzzles. It helps me to get out of bed, kind of. It also made me better at math, now I'm noticing that I can count quicker in my mind without reaching for a calculator all the time.
Sometimes when I don't have to wake up I set an early alarm just so I can experience falling asleep again. When the blankets are cold and everything is silent....its wonderful
Tiffany Chan I did that same thing and it was awesome! I studied before bed and then woke up and took a quiz on everything I studied the night before to really solidify it! Good luck!
I’ve been waking up at 5am since watching this. It’s been 1.5 month now. I use the Sleep Cycle app, and it actually helps me not to feel like a zombie the whole day like the normal alarm. And I go to bed around 1030pm. Waking up early has changed my life positively. I usually find myself running out of time, being panicked because of that and then develop a habit of having panic attack for no reason. Now I have more time to learn new things, do what I need to do, feel more confident. Just like Jocko Willink said: “Discipline means freedom “.
As a Muslim, we ve 5 prayers per day, each prayer takes around 5 minutes, the first prayer is the earliest one, for example for now it is at 4:45 am, the time of prayer is changeable over the year, because of the daylight difference, day is longer in summer than in winter. So technically a conservative Muslim wakes up early all the days of his life. Peace and love to all, it's just something from our culture that I wanted to share.
Can I ask why you have to pray 5 times a day and at certain times ? In my christian faith praying is a blessing (as I’m sure it is to your faith), to have the opportunity to build a relationship with God as we thank him and ask him for favours. But instead of structured prayer times It is in our hearts to pray and seek God at our own will whenever we please.
Rachel Ann97 You can pray whenever you want but not less than those 5 times, why 5 times, from my point of view, it's to spread the minimum over the day to keep your heart in touch with God, I personally experienced it, it gives you such an amazing feeling, and it was one thing that helped me fighting depression. I hope I could reply to your comment,
Pretending to be happy when you're in pain is just a definition of how STRONG you are as a person ..... all those people fighting against depression every single day to actually live their lives again - you guys are perfect !! you are weathered and strong enough to breathe again . Time heals every pain . self - pity gets you nowhere ..... so just get up now and love yourself soo hard so that even your anxiety gets jealous of you . I pray for you guys . May God heal everything . I love you guys 💜
This alarm is the Kobe Bryant of all alarm clocks.. Jus watch this video in this link to fully comprehend the excellence and get you one, you will never have to worry about waking up late ever in your life again th-cam.com/video/BIICbyXW5cM/w-d-xo.html
The 5 second rule and hopping out of bed is a great one. There are so many benefits of waking up early that can be experienced when you do so. I'm so thankful for how productive I am every early morning. Cheers!
I want to wake up to do bible study or spend time with God and scripture. The reason I do this is because when people wake up, they don't have the mindfulness to go against every bad habit or mindset they may have in the day. For example, I might go to work honestly dreading the day but if I read a scripture that says, "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!" I believe that I can change my views and outlook of my day. I also wouldn't mind writing an affirmation for myself and meditating on it over and over again in the morning! Not to mention how much pleasure I would get by waking up and taking a Long nice shower and doing all I need to do ahead of time so that I don't go to work late and so that I get some personal "me time" in the morning! ^_^
Carolyn Timberlake actually opened the comments cause I wanted to add mine about having morning devotions and just giving that time to God! Glad to see your comment! God bless you 😘
I want to get up earlier so that I actually have time to do my hair and make-up, read, have a nice breakfast and hit the gym. I usually wake up at the last minute and accomplish nothing before I head to work
I don’t do it everyday, but I’ve made it a habit of waking up at 4:30am to catch a train to a nearby town for a 6am workout. Sounds crazy, I know, but the train ride gives me time to catch up on reading, collect thoughts, and the endorphin rush charges me to attack the day. I also love chatting with the regulars and staff, so being a people person makes me WANT to do it, too!
I love this. Living close to everywhere I need to go has eliminated any kind of commute to my day, so I need to figure out how to get that same kind of me-time.
Why: I want to *feel* the time. Want to spend time with my plants, Breathe, Journal, read, take care of my pet fluffy, learn Spanish, Exercise/Yoga. I'd set a goal for the day that basically would be my mantra for the day- Something to focus upon And a weekly mantra would be some Quality I wanna see in my future self It can be as simple as smiling more or being confident or working harder Spending time with God with a candle/incense stick to calm my mind and talk to God about all my worries n tensions And then I d plan my day :)
Well I’ve mastered the ability to wake up early .The secret is you have to sleep early . You cannot rake up early if you sleep late . Your body just won’t wake you up that morning.
2:34 Amy: "turn off all your screens" me * turns off iMac * ... me: so what do I do now Amy? ... me: Amy?? ... ... ... ... ... ... Amy, are you still there I'm scared :/
I have taken your advice and have gotten my butt out of bed at 5:00 a.m. the last 2 mornings. I have been to the gym by 6:00 a.m. and back home to get ready for work at 8:00 a.m. I feel fantastic. Thank you for the motivation to make it happen. I hope it sticks.
I've been watching these kinds videos the whole day and you're the only one who's honest about how hard it can be to get up so early. That's why I really like your video
I am a master of turning of alarms... I will set one on my actual alarm clock, one on my phone and one on my telephone and snooze all of them for one hour and if I don't wake up then, I fall asleep. I hear you already "put your phone on your desk so you have to get up" but my urge to sleep is so strong that I turn it of and go back to bed.
there's an alarm called Alarmy on Android. you have to solve mathematical problems/click a picture of a place/shake the phone 40 times to shut it off, and trust me you do want to shut it down because it's loud enough to wake an entire household.
set up several alarm clocks in different parts of your house. I set up one in my bedroom (far away from my bed) and one in the kitchen about 10 minutes apart. After I turn off kitchen alarm I have breakfast for the first thing in the morning lol breakfast wakes me up like nothing else haha
Your video entered my life at the exact moment I needed it; I am in the process of trying to rebuild my own life, and this is one of the steps I have been struggling to take. I will be taking each and every one of these tips and applying them to my life, and I really want to thank you for bringing them to the attention of those who need it.
You always say "Go after the life you want." - I know to do that I need to exercise (I'm a big boy) and the best time is in the morning. My alarm is set an hour earlier and I made a bed for my phone in the room next to mine. I'm going to do this!
This is great !!! I used to work out every morning until my job changed my schedule and I have to be at work early morning:/ I truly miss exercising in the morning. You should make videos to track your progress! Maybe it will inspire others?
Many years ago, I was an early riser and I loved it. I think I'm finding the motivation to go back to it. I, need and love, the gym - just gotta get there!
My morning ritual begins with a glass of warm water, taking my vitamins and doing the face routine while the coffee is brewing. Then I stretch and do my exercise routine, take my meds, and spend about 5 minutes writing down what I am grateful for or what I appreciate. Then I go through my planner and sort out my day, week & Month. My why is sleeping still - he's 6 and he's my world. I get about an hour of me time before he wakes up. Egads! This is quite a change from a year ago. I'm getting better sleep, going to be earlier than I have in a long time, and able to start my mornings in a way that helps me be more productive and is helping me reach my goals to create a better life for my son and I
Kimberly Gypsy LoSavio this sounds really great. I do recommend that anyone drinking warm water (you may already know this) heats the water themselves, and doesn’t drink hot water from the tap. Hot water heaters often contain bacteria and do not produce water that is safe to drink.
unfortunately my most morning time goes to preparing school cloths for my lazy brothers never the less doing mine and waking them up !!!!!! after i saw your video i thought why am i doing this to my self this is self abuse i am waking up early any way but this is my time ! i have to make my time worthwhile and beneficial to my self. i have written as many to do lists as my hair count and non of them was completely checked. all because i was giving my time away for others. thank u so much foe waking me up latterly you have saved so many ppl by saving time !
4.3 Hall it has a light that gradually turns on to act as the sun rising. It wakes you up more naturally and not startled with an alarm. But it does still alarm just Incase the light doesn’t wake you. I don’t dread my alarm anymore.
Emily Martin i find them worth everything (given I have the luxury to afford it). During the winter months there would be no sunlight. But the sunrise alarm clock light somehow wakes my body up due to gradually bringing in brightness into the room. I highly recommend it.
_I noticed that the earlier I go to bed the easier it is for me to wake up early in the morning. Perfect time for me is going to bed at 10 pm and then I can wake up 5 or 6 am easily. Especially if it's summer. Winter might be a bit more complicated._
Tip...I make my bed as soon as I get up while I’m still half asleep so a) there’s no time to dread it and b)I won’t be tempted to crawl back in. With my extra time I’m finishing my second novel...and I’m 57! No time like NOW...life moves fast!
4.3 Hall On Feb 14 I released my first novel Marie Antoinette and The Hidden Door of Versailles (available on Amazon and B&N). I don’t have a title for my second book yet but it takes place in the FL Keys 🐠 I’m halfway finished with the first draft, then the real work begins. 5:00am works well for me!
Thank you Amy. I need more time to work on my TH-cam channel and online business goals so this helps me a lot. Love your energy "It's 5oclock in the morning..."
I wake up at 5am because the gym is too damn crowded for me to go after work! Lol my fear of exercising in front of/near people is my motivator. Plus I want a rockin bod.
I have been binge watching you this weekend. So glad I found you. I am probably old enough to be your mother, but you are a very knowledgeable woman and I love your enthusiasm and how you present the smart "shit" you know!!! Shit being a positive term. You go girl!!!!
Jacqueline Leib Same here! I'm definitely old enough to be her mother, yet still need the info she puts out there. I'm reinventing my career after a bit of a break.
awarenessvillage I am on my 6th year after taking a break to raise my boys. It was scary, fun, challenging, frustrating and everything else. I am very happy that I took the break and am happy that I chose what I am doing. I love to go to work everyday and I wish the same for you. You've got this!!!
I've started getting up at 5am to work on my part time degree and my TH-cam channel. The amount of extra work I am getting done is amazing! Thank you for all of these tips, some days, I REALLY need them!
Great tips! I always get up at 5:30, make myself breakfast and get ready for the day, so that when the rest of the family (husband and three kids) wake up at about 6:15 I am wide awake. I am actually contemplating getting up even earlier to have some writing time. I usually write in the evenings, but half an hour in the morning wouldn't hurt.
And my tip is to actually make it a routine. Make the change and stick to it for at least 20 days, and it will get easier. When it programmed into your head it will stop being a struggle.
How old are your kids? Mine are quite young (younger than 3...) and I usually am up once or twice/night to nurse or change a bed.... and even though I think getting up early would be very good for me... I am just toooooo tired at the Moment.
Mine are 12, 8 and 5. The two youngest still wake up at night, but are happy just being tucked in again. It's rough when they are as young as yours though. Hang in there, and don't demand too much of yourself. Naps are great, by the way! :)
I’m definitely an early morning person. I get up at 3:30am. It sounds awful, but it took a little while as I was seeing in-person clients and was commuting an hour. Now that we moved closer, I still get up at this time but now use that time to start writing and reading. When going to bed, I put “do not disturb” on, set 4 alarms, and sit my phone screen down before lying in bed. As soon as I get up, strong coffee is my friend and walk my pups. Nice little brisk 15-min walk while sipping on coffee does wonders. :) most of the time, I’ll then read someone else’s blog or watch someone’s video who’s made it where I want to be and that really motivates me to get started. I’ll then start with the one thing I want and need to finish for the day. Love these tips!
Around 11. :) I also take naps when I can and on the weekends (mainly Sundays since I work with clients on Saturdays at 7am), I sleep in until about 8 or 9. Just depends. I make it a point to listen to body when I'm tired though.
I wake up at 5am every day to leave at 7 for work but this was great motivation for those times when I try to talk myself in to sleeping late! My why is to have a quiet morning for yoga, meditation, and journaling to start my day off easy. I also take this time to plan my day both at work and at home. Great tips thanks!
i came to watch your videos today because i decided i needed a change in my life and i thought hard about what’s the one habit that if i can kick it, it would improve my quality of life and i found that if i was just better with time and woke up earlier i would be able to improve my quality of life because it’ll teach me discipline, to be time conscious and be able to deliver things on time. i’m attempting to build this habit and see what changes it does for my life. thank you for this ❤️
I'll set a goal to wake up at a certain time, say 445, and I'll wake up at that time, and then feel proud of myself that I could do it and reward myself by sleeping a little more.
I find drinking 2 pints of water before bed and setting an alarm at 5AM works.... you wake up with the alarm but your bladder SCREAMS and you goto the bathroom.... DONE!
So I have ALWAYS been a morning person. I love getting up early, and totally an old lady, cuz I am in bed by 9pm every night. That quiet time is beautiful, before the sun comes up (or in the summer for us in ND as the sun is coming up). That is my prayer time, journal time, gym time...me time. I get some water first thing and since it's cold it just wakes my whole body up. Throughout Lent I'm fasting caffeine (which is hard) but I'm finding my body doesn't NEED it...I'm in control of that. So go drink some water!!!
Make A Difference Pictures I agree. When she said no one likes waking early I was like uhhhhhh I do ☺️ I HATE rushing in the morning etc. Love the peace and serene, and taking my time in the mornings.
I have also always been a morning person. I'm less of a morning person right now only because I have babies who don't always like to sleep at night. 😆 but once they do I get right back to the morning stuff.
Nikki Schumacher Official I really am glad I'm not the only one. I love my morning time, I'm sure it will change a little once kids come but for now I'm going to keep soaking it up.
I woke up at 5 a.m. for many years, mostly because I had to in order to workout, have some prayer/Bible study time, get ready and get my young son to school before I went in to work. A year and a half ago I changed jobs, moved so my son could ride the bus and I was closer to work. Then I started getting up at six. But there are still so many things I want to do in a day, like morning pages and a financial check in. You have inspired me to get up earlier again. I'm aiming for that 5 a.m. again, working every day/week to get a up a little earlier. From this video I really loved that 5 second rule tip. Putting that into play tomorrow!
Our brain loves when we sleep, so it can do it’s thing, without us distracting it. You know, process info, creating weird alternative realities and stuff... luckily, my bladder is way more powerful than my brain... 😏
Literally watching this at 6 AM. I always tell myself that I have to get out of bed. I can take a nap in the noon if I need to, but waking early is a must. Doing things that I love to do before work gives me motivation to wake up. And tbh practicing FAM (fertility awareness method) helps soooo much with keeping up with the habit. Taking temperature every morning gives me enough minutes for my mind to wake up. Advantage right there.
One of my 2020 goals is to wake up at 5am every morning so I started Christmas Day to get into the routine. I've been waking up and almost immediately going for a 60-90 minute walk because I don't get any fresh air in my work day and spend most of it standing still. By the time I get back from my walk it's the time I'd usually get be getting up and ready for work so I just continue with my day as normal. I've been pretty lucky with the weather so far but hopefully by the time I get a bad day I'll be in the habit of going and won't fall back on excuses.
Rina Sôma Same. Which is practically throwing your life away. The night has better things going on. Nothing is open or happens at 5am except maybe the gym and even that’s iffy because not all places will open that early depending on where you live. Stores aren’t open, restaurants aren’t open, you can’t drink, the birds chirp and it’s annoying as hell, traffic is awful and school buses are everywhere. What’s the fun in being up in the morning? Nothing.
@@catcat3964 Not everyone likes the bar scene. I'm much happier being awake when mostly everyone else is asleep, it feels like I can finally think without extra noise
Gingy The Cat • I think waking up at 5 has its own benefits. Waking up isn’t for fun, it’s to get things done faster or maybe do something for school, or work. People who wake up early also tend to be more productive and organized! I wake up early for school. It really puts me in a great mindset and starts me off with my brain awake!❤️😋
This is something I'd LOVE to start doing! I'd probably spend my extra time either editing youtube videos, or working on my art project so I can get the grades to go to my dream university. I definitely need the extra time!
I love this for myself and other people with a similar/the same chronotype but I really feel for those of you who are wired to sleep at 2am and wake at 9am. You the real MVP for fitting yourself into our early work and school conditions!!! Because chronotypes are real and some ppl just aren’t going to be as productive in the AM and that would suck :(
Omg, my girlfriend and I got up early this morning thanks to this video and I am so excited for the week ahead - I've got loads of time back in my day! Thanks for the inspiration
@@bellasayo4948 lol I’ll admit I never started. I went to sleep and then woke up late and the pattern has continued ever since lol I’ll get it together eventually though.
I feel so fresh when I wake up early in the morning! ♥️ I feel that living in a big city, time goes by so fast, but getting out of bed early and staying active (morning run, cooking, running errands, finishing up hw, stretching, reading some interesting material, listening to podcasts, visiting family, going to the pool, reflecting, etc.) before work or a doctor's appointment has you left with so much more free time for yourself✨
Thanks for the tips Amy. An extra tip that has have worked for me is placing my alarm clock on the other side of the bed room. Its helps with getting the body out of bed and you're less likely to hit the snooze button!!
Ok. Because of you I am listening to my first audiobook EVER in my car on the way to work (started today!) and it’s so good (5 second rule). But I must ask: are you really getting up at 5 every day lately, and how early specifically do you go to bed to make that possible?
I don't wake up at 5. I wake up at 6:45 (I moved from 7:15 recently). I usually go to sleep/get tired around 11-11:30. A 5am person may sleep around 9 or 10pm
It's a struggle to even wake up at 7am to pack lunchbags for husband and kids & prep kids for school...and now that I'll be working an 8-5job with an hour commute to office, gosh I need more than a shaking to wake up 5am! These are helpful tips and is hopeful I can work it out putting kids early to bed too.
It's so cool that I'm watching this video again this week! This was the first video I ever watched of Amy's, and I was diggin her vibe so much that I watched from the very first video on this channel all the way through. I'm not quite caught up yet (this video was posted 5-ish months before I made this comment), but this week I started actually getting up at 5am to do a 30 minute cardio session every day, and then start my day right before work, so it's serendipitous I'm getting to it again this week. After watching this video the first time, I was able to start getting up at 6:30, and then zoned out watching youtube for a while before work (not the best time spent, but a HUGE step forward from being late to my 11AM's in college). I showed this video to my sister a bit more than a week ago, and was motivated to start going after the total life that I want, including being fit, rather than just obsessing over career improvement. Three of the five workdays this week have started off with cardio, the fourth I specifically did not do cardio because I had a workout class later in the day, and this morning I was able to meet an old friend for breakfast because I have gained the ability to wake up so early! Thank you, Amy. I love watching your videos and have learned so much for you. I am so happy that you made the pivot to including lifestyle and productivity, because it has helped me, who will probably never own my own business (because of my chosen dream-field) to learn about myself, and helped me to go after the life that I want. I wish you all the health and happiness, and look forward to growing with you in the future!!
Thank you for this video! love it💗 I tried this and it‘s like you have the extra time working/studying or doing things before the whole world starts waking up and this feels so good!!
Waking up early is my favorite thing in the world! Watching the day wake up is amazing! I happen to live in Hawaii so it makes it a little easier than getting up on a cold morning in the Bus!
This video it’s what I really need, struggling atm with waking up early, with my 10 months old daughter mornings are the best to have some time for myself
I appreciate the tips! While it’s a great idea to put your phone in another room - MANY of us have college age kids or older parents / sibling/ family members, making it impossible to follow this rule. Since letting go of my landline, my smart phone is the only means of communication in an emergency, I choose to keep it in my sleeping area. Before he passed away, my older brother was in a nursing home (young w Alzheimer’s), I often received late night calls requiring my attention. When my daughter occasionally calls late night, I WANT to be there for her. For me, personally, while I understand the advice, that tip from Arianna and you just doesn’t work in my (and others in my situation) - sandwich generation
So use a blue light blocker and the DND function (allows only certain numbers to ring through). My adult daughter, the kids still at home, and my parents can ring me. The idea is to get off the smartphone, and other electronics, so you can actually fall asleep.
Your life is so complicated and full of emergency calls. You should just change your number to 911 I WANT to be there for my daughter. Why did you scream want?? We can all hear you.
I try and wake up at 2am in the mornings to pray and read the Bible. Never thought I could do it but with discipline it is possible. My routing is soon to change due to new things happening so I will do the 4.30am or 5am wake up time. I am not a morning person and I need my coffee but you are right, if you have the "why" answered and you have goals to obtain then it makes things so much easier.
Turning off the alarm ⏰ unconsciously? Nooo I can easily have it ringing right beside me every 5 min for 3-4 hours and still sleeping like a baby 👶 I most likely will wake up from my angry family /roommates etc.
I've done both. A sleep specialist told me to multiple alarm clocks in my room that go off at different timea because I kept turning off the first one in my sleep. Turns out if I can't reach the alarm from my bed, I'll just learn to live with it and go back to sleep.
Your video popped up on my home page so I thought I’d check it out because I have trouble getting up in the morning and I need me time. When you said go to bed earlier I said to myself this lady is crazy because she obviously has no kids. I have a 2yo and a 5mo and even if they are both asleep the 5mo will wake at least once or twice but I kept watching and even if I can’t get to bed much earlier I do see the value and rewards from getting up early. At least my family doesn’t get up before 8 or 9 so extra time in the morning will be great. Nice video.
Thanks for your video! I feel like a lot of 'how to wake up early' videos are made by those who are early birds by nature so it is refreshing to watch someone who gets how night owls think. Next week I am starting a new job that requires me to wake up at 5 am to make the train--I was kind of doubting myself before, but with more info and prep work like this, I have a lot more confidence about getting it done. Overall, waking up early is a good incentive to not sleep the day away and be productive, a true blessing at it's core 🙂
I used to think I was just a lazy night owl. I saw this video 2 days ago and today woke up at 6am, even though it's my day off! (Normally my sleep rhythm would be 03-12.) It's a big identity change and I hope to keep this up. In the past 2 days I've been more productive than for the last two weeks put together. Thank you!
I love your vibe more every year 💛
And there’s so much I’m doing with my extra time in the morning but one thing is reading 🙂
Mariah Gle
Reading is one of the biggest things for me to! Right now, reading @garyvee #CrushingIt :)
Reed's Wellness and Fitness Training awesome! I’m reading “psycho cybernetics”. It’s amazing
You got pinned by Amy. Well, you got a new subscriber.
Mariah Glenn Reading is absolutely wonderful! That has also been a perk of waking up earlier for me!😻
Not only can I snooze my alarm in my sleep, but I can walk across the room and turn one off. So I downloaded an extreme alarm clock app... Now I can also solve math problems on my phone to snooze while dead sleep.
Haha !! 🤣🤣🤣😂
I tried that. I just turned of my phone🤣
I have an alarm on my phone and on an alarmclock at the other side of the room.
Oh and one in my bathroom.
All of them go of at 6:00, 6:02 and 6:04.
Its works for me.
LMAO good one!
lol XD
This is the funniest comment I’ve read today 😂😂😂 what is the app though? I want to learn to do math problems when I’m sleeping!
When I was in high school, I placed an alarm outside of my parents door and set my phone alarm to go off 1 minute before that one would. Every morning, I got up real fast to deactivate that other alarm before 1 min XD
wow, that's actually genius
Haha you are genius!
THAT IS GENIUS
Genius.
did you ever not make it in time? and did your parents ask why there was an alarm outside their room? 🤔
amy: start going to bed early
me: * watching this at 1 am *
Lmao

I think I'm going to start off small and aim for 7am daily. 😅 Struggling with depression right now and taking better care of myself. I get sleepy after I eat breakfast and journal, but never allow myself to go to bed again. I start my day with gratitude by kissing my pillow as soon as I wake up. 💛 Thank you Amy.
keep it up ❤️
Wish we can share our experience!! Together x
i have school and im also struggling
I love this ❤️❤️ Good for you ❤️❤️ I hope you are feeling better a year on from posting your comment x
Why wake up before 7 if you don't have to be at work? I only want to wake up at 5 because I need to eat before work, and I have to be at work at 7am
How to combine waking up at 5am and going to bed at 1am? Because both are my favorite productive times
afternoon naps :)
Try polyphasic sleeping, look it up
Sleeping in phases maybe
You can sleep in two chunks... sleep early, wake up at midnight, sleep again at 2 and wake up at 5.
so just 30 minutes for just Charging your energy. and That's it!
hope this helps you, and I recommend that you search about it more.
Good Luck!
I turn off the alarm while still asleep. So I downloaded an alarm app that doesn't stop the noise until I solve some math puzzles. Then I became the master of doing the math very quickly to go back to sleep. It's tragic
Nani Marques Castiglio lol but now you can say sleeping longer has improved your IQ 🤔😉😂
Nani Marques Castiglio 😂😂😂 i hate math. I would go bury my phone and go back to bed!
Nani Marques Castiglio 😂😂😂 that's hilarious lol
you need to try an app call Alarmy.

I do the same is the best feeling in the world
I don't expect anyone to see this, but I want to use that time to study for a placement exam so that I can become a doctor
Tiffany Chan Good luck! I hope you make it!!
I just watched this video tonight and saw your comment. Good luck with your studies, Tiffany. You can do this!
Oh goooood luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck YOU CAN DO IT stay motivated !
Tiffany Chan I did that same thing and it was awesome! I studied before bed and then woke up and took a quiz on everything I studied the night before to really solidify it! Good luck!
😉 good luck
I’ve been waking up at 5am since watching this. It’s been 1.5 month now. I use the Sleep Cycle app, and it actually helps me not to feel like a zombie the whole day like the normal alarm. And I go to bed around 1030pm.
Waking up early has changed my life positively. I usually find myself running out of time, being panicked because of that and then develop a habit of having panic attack for no reason. Now I have more time to learn new things, do what I need to do, feel more confident.
Just like Jocko Willink said: “Discipline means freedom “.
When you wake up?
When people are like “What time do you wake up?” I’m like “5am” and they are like “OMG”
In my head: I WAKE UP at 5...but I only GET UP at 7. 😂
Asha and Shade yep😛
I don't even want tell People because they would judge that 🤔
@@lailamossemann8316 are they though? I'd be very impressed with the person if she tells me that she wakes up at 5am in the morning
i wake up at 4am and im 14 lololol
@@derederesan_5539 yeah, that's not super impressive as a kid. If you can do that at 30 then that'll be impressive
Great tip to share! 👍🏻
Rose Quartz
Thanks
Can I ask why you have to pray 5 times a day and at certain times ? In my christian faith praying is a blessing (as I’m sure it is to your faith), to have the opportunity to build a relationship with God as we thank him and ask him for favours. But instead of structured prayer times It is in our hearts to pray and seek God at our own will whenever we please.
Rachel Ann97
You can pray whenever you want but not less than those 5 times, why 5 times, from my point of view, it's to spread the minimum over the day to keep your heart in touch with God, I personally experienced it, it gives you such an amazing feeling, and it was one thing that helped me fighting depression. I hope I could reply to your comment,
Food Engineer thanks for sharing 😊
Depression leads to oversleeping . Sad :(
Akansha Priya depression leads to oversleeping and 3 hour depression naps right after getting up and eating for me.

Mine leads to oversleeping and not washing my hair for 2 weeks...
@@esteragodfree3772 I sleep all day with my depression and anxiety. I feel like we are triplets now 😥
Pretending to be happy when you're in pain is just a definition of how STRONG you are as a person ..... all those people fighting against depression every single day to actually live their lives again - you guys are perfect !!
you are weathered and strong enough to breathe again .
Time heals every pain .

The 5 second rule and hopping out of bed is a great one. There are so many benefits of waking up early that can be experienced when you do so. I'm so thankful for how productive I am every early morning. Cheers!
Ok lets do this!
*Turs on 5 am alarm*
*Alarms sounds*

Carolyn Timberlake See, this is encouraging for me. Amy’s talk is fab but reading your comment has helped also. Thank you, this will be my ‘why’. 🙏🏻😊
Carolyn Timberlake superb
I want to do it too! :D Bible study at morning when nothing distract you is the best

I usually wake up at the last minute and accomplish nothing before I head to work
Samantha OLEARY MEEEEE TOOOO!!!
Vlog Girl me to God help as!!!😔😔😔
I don’t do it everyday, but I’ve made it a habit of waking up at 4:30am to catch a train to a nearby town for a 6am workout. Sounds crazy, I know, but the train ride gives me time to catch up on reading, collect thoughts, and the endorphin rush charges me to attack the day. I also love chatting with the regulars and staff, so being a people person makes me WANT to do it, too!
now THAT's impressive
Yeah! To have a reason is a pretty strong motivation
DarkfoolDave Thats so great an cool
Oh my God, this is like the most supportive community I’ve ever dealt with! Thanks, guys- all the best to you on the road to awesomeness!!
I'd set a goal for the day that basically would be my mantra for the day- Something to focus upon
And a weekly mantra would be some Quality I wanna see in my future self
It can be as simple as smiling more or being confident or working harder
Spending time with God with a candle/incense stick to calm my mind and talk to God about all my worries n tensions
And then I d plan my day :)
You madecmy day with this! Thank you! 💃
I will be doing daily devotionals in the morning as well as walking my dog and studying to be a Psychologist before I go to my full time job!

So would I! Nothing to do... So I know I'll go back to sleep.
Haha even me i'm struggling with this problem 😂😂
I've been watching these kinds videos the whole day and you're the only one who's honest about how hard it can be to get up so early. That's why I really like your video
I am a master of turning of alarms... I will set one on my actual alarm clock, one on my phone and one on my telephone and snooze all of them for one hour and if I don't wake up then, I fall asleep. I hear you already "put your phone on your desk so you have to get up" but my urge to sleep is so strong that I turn it of and go back to bed.
Josephine De Smet Admitting there is a problem is the first step to a solution!
Five Cents Matter true lol!
maybe a good idea!! thank you!
there's an alarm called Alarmy on Android. you have to solve mathematical problems/click a picture of a place/shake the phone 40 times to shut it off, and trust me you do want to shut it down because it's loud enough to wake an entire household.
set up several alarm clocks in different parts of your house. I set up one in my bedroom (far away from my bed) and one in the kitchen about 10 minutes apart. After I turn off kitchen alarm I have breakfast for the first thing in the morning lol breakfast wakes me up like nothing else haha
Totally random but you have the perfect radio voice!!
True. Reminded me of Jenna Marbles in a way (voice).

To wake up early I put a drink of water on top of my phone so when I turn off my alarm I have to pick it up, so I drink it and then I’m awake xx

DrLevelUp it helps also if you set your workout clothes out the night before
Have you tried intermediate fasting ?
When the video tells how to wake up at 5 and you are struggling to wake up at 9...

Got a sunrise alarm. Changed my life.
What is a sunrise alarm?
4.3 Hall it has a light that gradually turns on to act as the sun rising. It wakes you up more naturally and not startled with an alarm. But it does still alarm just Incase the light doesn’t wake you. I don’t dread my alarm anymore.
Me too. Don’t want anything else anymore.
I've considered getting one of those, but they're quite expensive... Are they worth it, and do you have any recommendations for cheaper ones?
TeriGigi what was your first novel ? What is your second novel?
4.3 Hall On Feb 14 I released my first novel Marie Antoinette and The Hidden Door of Versailles (available on Amazon and B&N). I don’t have a title for my second book yet but it takes place in the FL Keys 🐠 I’m halfway finished with the first draft, then the real work begins. 5:00am works well for me!
Thank you Amy.
I need more time to work on my TH-cam channel and online business goals so this helps me a lot. Love your energy

Whenever I loose my track I come here watch this video and start waking up at 5am the next day, Amy motivated me the first time so I know this works
How do you hear your alarm in another room?? I need my alarm next to my ear to wake me up.
Helsie Jefferson I usually put it across the room where I have to get up to shut it off . I sooo wouldn’t hear it in the other room lol
😂😂😂😂. This comment has been underrated!!!! Like. Yes! Right inside my ear 😂😂
i don’t even hear it even if it’s right by my ear. i have to have the alarm on vibrate so it vibrates my bed and wakes me up :)
Ikr that's what I'm saying
Reed's Wellness and Fitness Training what time do you go to bed to wake up that early?
DONE!
Pee power!
lol
lmaoo i do this too
what if you wet the bed
I wish this worked but I'd just wake up at 1 or 2 and pee
Kay Marie amen to not rushing!!!
Make A Difference Pictures I’m definitely much more of a morning person! I am 100% NOT a night owl. I’m just super grumpy if I stay up too late. 😂
Saved this video 2 years ago and just found it again. I am working on becoming a 5 am person! Thank you for the tips.
I read your comment first and then your name as "Your Bladder Strategist"...😑
Xaigo Co I’m actually a bladder action taker. No strategy at all there... 😏

Warm lemon water first thing in the morning is brilliant! I have had the morning lemon water ritual for many years now and it has been life changing!
Yes, I want to spend more time in my bible, meditate and some yoga poses…this is my “why”…now the next step is implementation!
Petty Blue genius idea! Thanks
Nikki Millar how is it going so far?
I am the master of turning off the alarm while I'm asleep. I have actually missed school because of this reason. Great tips, thank you!
I move through my days light-hearted and carefree knowing that all is well. I expect the best. I'm enough and i'm ready for my next best season!
To wake up at 5:00am I have to go to sleep at 8:00pm hahaha
Rina Sôma Same. Which is practically throwing your life away. The night has better things going on. Nothing is open or happens at 5am except maybe the gym and even that’s iffy because not all
places will open that early depending on where you live.
Rina Sôma 9:00 is also possible!
Same. And even then I don't feel like it when the alarm goes off.
This is something I'd LOVE to start doing! I'd probably spend my extra time either editing youtube videos, or working on my art project so I can get the grades to go to my dream university. I definitely need the extra time!
Damn its 5:00 am and I'm up..
Afterstaying up all night
knightmare Me too... I was planning to continue sleeping but I found this video and I'm just gonna start my day now :)
Lol
Alright guys it's not very hard you can do it
I love this for myself and other people with a similar/the same chronotype but I really feel for those of you who are wired to sleep at 2am and wake at 9am. You the real MVP for fitting yourself into our early work and school conditions!!! Because chronotypes are real and some ppl just aren’t going to be as productive in the AM and that would suck :(
Also watched this woman’s interview for the 5 second rule!
Omg, my girlfriend and I got up early this morning thanks to this video and I am so excited for the week ahead - I've got loads of time back in my day! Thanks for the inspiration

I’m like:
“I’m getting up, I’m getting up”
Then I fall asleep.
That’s what I say all the time!
I always start the day off with some yoga/ movement to wake up my mind and body :)
Ok. Because of you I am listening to my first audiobook EVER in my car on the way to work (started today!) and it’s so good (5 second rule). But I must ask: are you really getting up at 5 every day lately, and how early specifically do you go to bed to make that possible?
Another great book to read on waking up early: “The Miracle Morning”! So motivational!

Why is she so good at convincing me to wake up at 5 am
YOU ARE THE BEST TH-camR!!!! Never stop making videos, you inspire me to be a better person!!! Byeee
"how did my alarm not go off this morning???" - i actually snoozed it 5 times in my sleep.
i always get up at 4 am...........................to pee, then go back to sleep LOL
lolzzzzzzzzz hahaha
Jay 969 lol
and the sleep you get after that detour is the best. Has the power to convince one that a job or degree isn't that important..
actually i was kidding! i usually get up at 4 am to study chinese......though i'm chinese lol (no kidding)

Maria Yanakakis Weeks I agree with you! I need to be available for family emergency calls.
True
I was thinking the same thing
So use a blue light blocker and the DND function (allows only certain numbers to ring through). My adult daughter, the kids still at home, and my parents can ring me. The idea is to get off the smartphone, and other electronics, so you can actually fall asleep.
Your life is so complicated and full of emergency calls. You should just change your number to 911
I WANT to be there for my daughter.
Amy is my angel. Always encouraging and inspiring. Thank you Amy.
Ha, I don't even turn it off, I just sleep straight on through to my 7th alarm!
Me too, my mom didn't believe me until she visited recently!
Turning off the alarm ⏰ unconsciously? Nooo I can easily have it ringing right beside me every 5 min for 3-4 hours and still sleeping like a baby 👶 I most likely will wake up from my angry family /roommates etc.
Hahaha, I used to live with someone like you and I was the angry roommate😂
Baibai MS I'm so sorry it's inconsiderate from our part 😔😊
sasablink same😅🤦♀️
I've done both. A sleep specialist told me to multiple alarm clocks in my room that go off at different timea because I kept turning off the first one in my sleep. Turns out if I can't reach the alarm from my bed, I'll just learn to live with it and go back to sleep.
How obnoxious is your alarm? I use an obnoxious alarm that I can’t help but feel guilty about.
I love that I found you. I’m looking to meditate and journal and dream a little before I start meeting the demands of life.
It is my second day that I woke up at 5am and even though it's hard I love how productive I've been
Alarm in another room is 💯 not a good idea if you have kids 😂
or simply if you don't live alone haha
Seth Drebitko + Or having a baby brother who sleeps through really loud noises, but wakes up to me getting out of bed.
Came here to say this.
😂😂
I would never wake up to an alarm in another room😂😂😂 I am WAY too heavy of a sleeper...
You seem so real! I will try these tips. I want to wake up early to be able to work on my painting
Thank you!
Early in the morning I do breathing and meditation session. It is awesome! And then a couple of more things.
