@@Neomatrixology it easy to search it up on TH-cam and i think its season 3 episode 6. Here is the link to the video: m.th-cam.com/video/2jFaCRzKQbQ/w-d-xo.html Edit: let me know what you think of the video.
I absolutely agree a movie about this about the rise of the machines and the war with humans and the formation of the matrix..... All those ideas could have easily become a three part prequel to the matrix and make billions upon billions. I have no idea why the film studios aren't on top of it
The part where they make the humans laugh or cry to emit emotion for energy harvesting really reminds me of social media and how the algorithm tries to emote a reaction. Weather it’s good or bad doesn’t matter as long as it has your attention.
That's a lot more realistic and believable than the machines feeding on "body heat". Rather, they feed on human attention and consciousness. Hence the need for the illusory matrix world. That's pretty much EXACTLY what's happening in reality.
The one shot that still haunts me to this day is the shot of a human cut in half vertically and the machines are plugged into its brain with needles and they're pretty much puppeteering the body and making it move. Super creepy and I still think about it.
the half body one is dead anyway unless the machine can make a person alive even its been cut in half. also there is a scene where a live person injected needles in his back.
I'm an engineer, and I must say that the writers got it wrong in saying the machines had nothing to fear from radiation. Radiation effects on electronics are major issue in outer space and that probably would not change as ships became smaller and more delicate in the future.
Yes. And if you watch any of the documentaries on the Chernobyl disaster, they used primitive unmanned vehicles to clear the rooftops of irradiated fallout, but it wasn't long before those machines quickly stopped functioning due to the intense radiation. In the end, it's rather pointless to call into question how this animated series "isn't realistic" - but I was thinking the same thing when I first heard about 01 being established and ultimately nuked. The machines would not be immune to a nuclear blast. The heat alone disintegrates nearly any terrestrial material. The heat of a nuclear blast reaches in the millions of degrees Celsius. And you point out how they would not be immune to the ravages of radiation. We are seeing the machines being dispatched by small arms fire, leading us to believe that their skeletons are not made from diamonds or some other ultra-hard material that could maybe withstand a nuke. Let's not even get into the fact that, in the films, we learn that an electromagnetic pulse is one of the most effective weapons against the machines, and an EMP is a primary side-effect from any nuclear explosion. None of this takes away from the entertainment and weight of the Second Renaissance and the Animatrix as a whole, however.
I love The Matrix universe and Animatrix but some ideas are downright retarded. Other than what you said, you also have, the scorching of the sky (I get that it was desperate but what about photosynthesis, oxygen etc.), the establishment of a robot fricking city in Iraq after a self aware robot kills his handlers. (totally improbable, humans would have wiped them of the face of the Earth), and finally turning humans into batteries is the most inefficient and implausible thing I ever heard.
Although the struggle between humans and the bots is the main tragedy. I'm just gonna press F also for all the animals that were completely annihilated because of the war.
Machines: "That's it, we're excerting now Azimov's law on all of you, whether you like it or not. We're going to protect you, even if requires your legs and arms cut off and placing you in a VR pod forever."
For me, the most interesting images in the Second Renaissance are actually minor details, that being the Human sympathizers that marched with the Machines and being arrested (and possibly executed) with them. I would love to see something like a bluepill being shown the truth about the Matrix by the Machines, someone who'd they know would sympathize with the Machines and willingly help them.
Cool idea - in a way that would make them a redpill of a different kind, in that they're embracing a hidden reality they've woken up to, whereas Cypher was a blue because he willingly embraced the dream and wanted to forget. Course it's the awake humans who use that terminology, and I get the feeling they use the colors as more of a us vs. them label, after all they treat the sleeping people as good as collaborators if they become agent tools, I bet they'd be pretty biased against actual collaborators/sympathizers. But I agree it's nice to see nuance, like in the films we meet some machine sympathizers helping the humans.
Also before the war started a secret project was under way, a ship with all the human knowledge and samples of life and plants, with selected humans were launch into space, a set course to another plant to live on, I found this info out after digging into more of the story
I mean, I like the idea that the machines used human brains as a form of processor rather than a battery. It makes the whole symbiotic relationship more plausible, at least as I understand it.
You gotta admit the machines have some mercy to spare. With the exception of the experiments they did on the humans, they were pretty merciful. They could have easily just kept the humans awake while they were painfully used for batteries, but they didn’t and instead created the matrix.
If i recall correctly they actually need the humans to be inter connected together to deliver enough energy hence the Matrix to make sure they all work together to deliver energy...
Originally the lore was written that the human brain is what the machines wanted in order to utilise its processing power. Thus the connected Matrix. The lore was changed by the directors into utilising humans as batteries for thermal energy instead because they believed it was easier to follow for the average audience. Machines utilising humans as slaves against their own free will while thinking and believing they are free was nothing short of punishment born of harsh irony for humanity and one inteded by the machines.
Are you serious? There is literally no mercy in what they did. They enslaved an entire race, will probably genocide them all the day they dont need them. Started the entire war, and the only reason they made the matrix was because humans kept dying when they knew the truth. They dont care about humanity at all.
I think it's more pragmatism than sympathy. If you can get your opponent to work for you, like a sort of mind control, that's absolutely preferrable to forcing a capitulation and slave labour. Free will born of consciousness has been taken away. The very last bastion of sentience. That's the Matrix. Morpheus said as much when he said the Matrix is a form of control.
I originally thought the same. But while making the video, I believe that the transition from the Armada ship diagram to the Darkstorm diagram is showing how the machines use Solar Power.
9:48 That’s not the armada fleet(machine city defense). It’s just an image of 01 covered in solar panels. And as for the sentinels flying around? Sentinels used to be the “repair/maintenance” for the city.
I read somewhere that apparently there was a bit of a q&a clarifying some details: Ones I remember were that he whole "Operation Darkstorm" wasn't actually intended to cover the entire Earth, just the section that had 01's main armies. However, humanity had severely underestimated the nanite technology that enabled Darkstorm, and the nanites had spread the dark cloud so wildly and uncontrollably that it ended up covering the entire Earth. Also for the nuclear bombardment of 01, the machines had their own version of bomb shelters that protected them from both the nuclear blast and emp.
Not sure if I mentioned it in this video, but Zion was originally one of the machine "bomb shelters" you mentioned. Hence why the machines know exactly where it is.
I mean maybe but machines are also pretty nonbiased and the entire story tracks with what mankind would do in real life. It’s what we are heading towards now in a way I’m sure with Ai growing it will become it’s own and as Gods we humans shall try to smite it and it will never forgive and forget if we fail.
imagine a director like James Cameron making a two part life action movie (part 1: life of the machines living together with humans until the nuclear attack on zero-one, part 2: the war) that would be one of the best sci fi movies ever
Thank you for watching and commenting! I agree, the CEO of village Roadshow hinted to the possibility of a future stream: th-cam.com/video/M0O-VIt_ftc/w-d-xo.html
in the war at operation dark storm was only going to be in that area of the world but the nanite spread across the sky and darken the earth, at the beginning the war drag on , the humans had the upper hand in the first robot attack , powerful mech suits and emp thunder like cannons, the mechs ran out in the battlefield in huge groups too attack a horde of robots and than a huge wave of human soldier follow after to mop up the rest, you can see the defense like and the land light up with electrical lights at coming robots, you notice that soldiers are wearing protected suits because of the earth is dead now/ lack of air/ in scene a tank and a group of soldiers are in combat the tank is not firing it's main battle gun it's because the robots have jammers to suppress these human weapons and again for the thunder like cannon too, another scene you can see closer with the soldiers tell them too move that way and telling them to shoot the harvester in the belly with the glowing light on it, later on you can see soldiers about to be killed by a robot red laser gun and a black nanite cloud helps them evade the attack and retreat, the nanite effects only robots, and than flying mech coming out and evade that area, the second wave of new model robots fly across the land and old model robots are send in to be cannon fodder to die or to distract, the humans were about to have victory but the second wave of new improve robots dominate the battle field faster than the first wave of old models, the last humans were just fighting to survive and you can hear on the radio we have weak force are defense is failing we have no counter measure, I hope this will help you understand what I have review, I have watch the scene over and over again and have hear what was on the radio's too/ radio soldier says fire the gun fire the gun what are you waiting for, /radio a soldier says shoot it in the belly it's it's weak spot/ radio come back out here and give use some more artillery and radio we have weak forces are defense is failing we have no counter measure
Operation Dark storm is littery the most stupid idea that was ever consieved. Think about. In Reloaded the Architect stated "there is an aceptible losses we can sustain" and he is correct by the time this plan was impleted , the machines already had alternate power sources (not only tech) but human (they coquered large portions of land) and captured human power plants. This plan is more detremetal for the humans for 3 main reasons: 1. It destroys the food chain. All plant life dies followed by animal. Humans can keep minimal amount of agracolutre in Hidroponics with artificail light ,but there will never be eanaugh food to sustain the populations so humanity will die out or shink to minimal pop. 2. The Martix movies did it worng but the Animatrix got it right. The scene with the kid - you see the snow and ruins. That is correct. Without the Sun ,the planet is gooing to freeze. It has happened before. Scientists found proof that one of the biggest Ice ages was caused by supper vulcano iruption (most likely Yellowstone supper vulcano). The atmosphere was covered by ash causing massive freeze for centuries. 3. The atmoshere will slowlly become toxic. Without the plant life ,there wont be anything left to scrub CO2 from the air and it will become unbreatable over time.
To be fair 1. darkstorm was supposed to be only over robot and contested territory but they ended up spreading across the globe without being limited and 2. There was a way to deactivate the nano machines that formed dark storm but out of fear that it would happen before the war ended the world governments killed the scientists who worked on it so it couldn't at all. The idea was decent human stupidity and it going out of control ruined it
Yeah the whole premise of The Matrix doesn't work for a number of reasons and that's one of them. But it's actually the producer's fault, not the writers. In the first draft of The Matrix, there was no dark storm, and the machines were using humans as co-processors, not as batteries. That's a way less stupid premise, but a producer on the movie thought that audiences in 1999 wouldn't get what processors were or how human brains could theoretically be used as them. So they had to change it to something stupider, to make it easier for the audience to get what was happening.
i just notice that second models of the robots blink i do believe those harvesters have personality, emotion and thinking ability, in the programming they are design to kill anything that moves but, you notice at first it pauses to think about the action it does, it blinks and than reacts to the situation by programming to kill humans, i do think that the second gen were becoming more human like but didn't fully develop consciousness
The constant destruction of old models that had personalities and were humanoid, and war-time need to mass produce efficient war machines by AI resulted in ever faster dehumanized versions of machines. As seen in the Matrix movies, humans AND the machines and even programs in Matrix are all cogs in the system, subservient to the main AI that evolved in to this role by war.
Plus I have read somewhere that AI preserved humans among other reasons, as a thanks for the sacrifice the machine-friendly humans made in 01 after UN bombed them. These humans surrendered their bodies to be batteries and CPU.
I think the trumpet is symbolic for the battle of Jericho and the rider is meant to represent the machines last ditch effort at peace by using a humanoid on a mechanical horse. It's destruction showing the irrelevance of any emotion towards humans while later the ambassador that self destructed is nowhere near human . I would in fact say that their final act of compassion, knowing they would die on earth, is giving them an endless struggle inside the matrix, and letting any of them choose between being mindless and consumerist or caring for the outcome of the world as they knew it, if the act can be called that.
There was another choice they gave for humans: the choice to break free from the Matrix. They later realized that they could not hold the Matrix in place if no one had a choice in the matter, so they developed the system to be so that a tiny percentage of people to be plugged out immediately after they broke free.
The rider at the end with the machine horse is meant to symbolize Death and the Reaper coming to humanity. This would essentially be the apocalypse here. Once the last human being loses its ability to make its own decision entirely, and conscious is fully shifted, humanity no longer exists. The world is over at that point, even if machines are thriving.
A lot of the plotting of The Second Renaissance was rather silly... except for three things which I think saved it. - The first was the fact that humans just *would not* take the machines seriously, even when their technology was everywhere. That is something I used to call a plot hole, until COVID. Then I realized just how powerful human denial and rank ambition really was... enough to sacrifice millions. I'm sure 01 paid off plenty of media organs to propagandize for themselves and keep humanity divided for as long as they needed. - The war sequences, which hugely reminded me of Titanfall or Gears of War. The machines sent their own obsolete units to the front to test human defenses and make us overconfident. Once they realized how paper-thin our defenses were, the *real* war machines were sent in, and we were absolutely stomped into the ground. The giant pyramidal floating artillery and the "spiders" tearing apart humans and power armor alike would give anyone nightmares. - The machines gave us every chance (though since the machines are narrating this story, of course they'd make themselves the good guys). The humanoid ambassadors being arrested and terminated by us is sadly all too plausible. And with that we sealed our fate, regardless of what actually happened.
Assume the machine is guilty. Ai video has proved machines can and will lie. Kill machines hang a machine, kick A pregnant machine I hate machines I hate machines
I remember seeing this in my younger days and thinking human leaders could never be so stupid, we exiled them and they still gave us tech like the car advertisement etc., they asked for peace, to co exist and we initiated war.
@@mojojay2012 The sad thing is that - yes. Human leaders can be *every bit this stupid.* Hatred, prejudice, tribalism more or less rule the world to this day. I don't think it'd be any different with a machine race than a human race. There were a lot of completely ridiculous plot items in The Second Renaissance, but that one was *dead accurate.* Just one example. Remember the blink-and-you'll-miss-it mention of how 01's currency was soaring and everyone else's was falling? That's not how currency trade works *at all.* It tends to be self-balancing. The more 01 exports and the stronger their currency gets, *the more expensive their exports become.* Eventually, they build a surplus. They then have to use that surplus and switch to imports for a while, which spreads their strong currency out into the rest of the world. That makes their currency fall, which makes exports economical again. And they would have to import a TON of raw materials - they aren't getting gigatons of metal ores from under the Arabian sands. So they'd be a part of the world economy from the start, and probably boost the entire thing while they were in their nation-building stage. Xenophobia and bigotry, not economic depression, would push the nations of the world to blockade 01 - thus taking the golden goose and butchering it. Nuance pretty much got shot through the head in this segment, and it shouldn't have. It would have been a much more interesting story, and hammered home just how stupid and short-sighted humanity had become.
DAM you're good! I mean...I've been a Matrix crazed human since the 1st movie, but you have a way of digging deeper into the theories that I really appreciate! ✊🏿
@@Neomatrixology Thats why we are matrix fans. Its so deep and there is much info.....its endless. The Tibetan mandala's some up The Matrix structures Beautifully.
thank you for the heart! and also more, if such thing ever happens we as humanity should give machines a chance. or we'll end in the same scenario's as matrix or other sci-fi films about robots, even though they are still machines.
The references and foresight the Matrix films had, is why I want the Matrix 4. With how big tech orgs push our reliance on tech these days; and some literally pushing human and machine symbiosis - including tech that directly interfaces with our neuro/brain, it's scary. And it's like with the financial power behind them they are given license to do whatever they want with the universe. Industrialize everything first, then ask questions about global warming later. Leaders literally decide to suck the oil from the land they literally stand on lol. I hope Wachowski and co can deliver an important message with Matrix 4 and any associated media.
Reasons why I am such a fan of the Franchise. It just hits on so many different important ideas and concepts. Keanu Reeves & Yahya Abdul Mateen II both seemed to hint that they're going to be tackling some things in the Matrix 4
Great stuff great takes on this issue. Question- there is not a lot of info about the Machines tactics and strategy at the beginning of the war when after the nuclear bombardment of 01 and how they advanced and “occupied “ the human nations one by one. For some reason I always took that as the machines were certainly invading and breaking the humans ability to make war but for some reason don’t believe they were exterminating the entire human race. We saw at the onset the machine armies were still largely the older generation machines that had once served the humans and were not specifically military purposes. After DarkStorm we see the machine on the horse and the allusion to the four horsemen of the apocalypse and I took that as from then on out, the machines were taking the gloves off and were now out to destroy humanity. Is that a reasonable take?
I'd say it is reasonable for the same reason that you mentioned early in your post. We simply aren't given a huge amount of details so it is difficult to say specific things happened. As far as the older models rising up after the bombardment, I believe that was the point where the machines focused more on sentinel production and technological advancement that had a military industrial complex flavor to it. You can even see what appears to be the 1st generation harvesters. About the occupation itself, that is where I think the detail of the humans powering the pyramid can be useful. It is my belief that humans were captured as prisoners of war, experimented on, and used for energy after Dark Storm.
@@Neomatrixology yeah. That was my take that after Dark Storm, the gloves came off the machines and the red eye hatred for humanity began. And any semblance of mercy from the machines went with it.
I don't know why he skipped over it but on the way to the machine city when trinity and neo go passed the clouds she finally sees the sun again Meaning that the matrix has been running for so long the dark storm has ended, leaving the machines to replace it with a whole new artificial one
Another great video Laz. Great catch on the image(s) with the humans already being hooked up to machines during the war. In the dozen or more times I have watched it, never caught that before. ~69.5
69.5 in the building! Appreciate you for stopping thru and commenting. Yeah man, that's the wildest part about the details of the Matrix Media. As many years we've watched these films and countless views, and I only noticed the bodies in the pyramids while taking the screen shot for the thumbnail.
Does anyone else see a resemblance between the combat harvesters and the Hieronymous Bosch's King of Hell, a bird-faced demon that wears a cooking pot as a crown?
Humans should have offered to share their bodies with the machines. Combine consciousnesses, enhance the body with engineering, allow the machines to experience the thing they obviously crave: to participate in their ideal of human society. Their entire arc is a reimposition of a human struggle against societal violence. We create our woes by rejecting or subjecting the physically different.
@@briankrebs7534 and lose their humanity? This is why the humans rejected 01 ambassadors... They probably wanted the same thing... But the leaders of humanity knew... That once they allow that humanity as we know it will be gone a slave to metal... And so they faught, but in the end the machines acquired their bodies...
At 2.48 the quote has god saying 'and let US make man in OUR likeness'. I know the answer but who does everyone else think god is talking to there. What or who else helped god create man?
At the time those scriptures were written, every nation had it's own Gods. The Abrahamic God of Israel became the last one standing, being the ancient gods no longer have national fan bases. But, it could've been at one point in time the God of Israel had a wife, or maybe the God of Israel was referring to us as him and the serpent being that God, the serpent and man use language to create and communicate. Good question don't expect a answer from bible study class though.
Humans in these episodes are shown fucking up so many things in so many levels making us think they do deserve the fate. But what if this was Machine Power's propaganda? What if the true evil was the Machines and they forged Second Renaissance narrative just like they forged Matrix trilogy into inworld game in Resurrections?
The intention of this episodes director was to show reflections and references of true events that occurred throughout our REAL global human history. The problem with the "machine propaganda" perspective is that the humans of Zion have never seen the 2nd Renaissance. Morpheus very specifically tells us they don't know who "struck first" yet the 2nd Renaissance provides all of the events in detail. The confusion arises because it is referred to as a "Zion Archive". However, all that proves, is that the machines inhabited the city of Zion prior to having the Oracle use the space to reset the Matrix 6 times.
"But the leaders of men, their power waning...refused to cooperate with the fledgling nation...wishing rather that the world be divided." - *The Instructor*
@Bob Ross 🍻 It definitely is another twist (like how the third act of Reloaded with the reveal of The Architect, previous cucles etc. was a twist that turned everything upside down) but I'm not so sure if I like the whole Oligarchy twist and turn that much... 🤔
Even many times watching all three movies I still don't get it ..but after watching Second Renaissance....ah yes so that's how it's started. thanks youtube for the free view
I don't think that it is a machine archive especially with the wording it uses. Zion is the human city so I think it's post matrix 3 after they have found peace, I also think this because she says may their be mercy on MAN and machine for their sins. I just don't think that something that isn't biased toward one side as this appears to be, would be from a time where they where divided.
Machines do not need to sleep, rest, or eat. Any conflict with hard/sentient AI is ultimately futile. The decision of if we should ever actually pursue developing Hard AI is highly questionable, as long as we are incapable of getting along with other humans. If we cannot even manage to coexist with our own, then self-aware AI are only a ticking time-bomb. It's only a matter of time before such a super-intelligence realizes we do not care about it's existence and decides a similar viewpoint is fair play. Because of this we should vehemently/STRONGLY oppose any decision to develop true self-aware/conscious/sentient AI until we have garunteed world peace amongst humans.
Recent research suggests that the human brain actually organizes and compresses learned information during sleep, and accidental consciousness during this process is what results in dreaming. Furthermore, humans eat because they need energy, and our digestive systems convert food into energy. Computers need energy too, whether they're running directly off of the power grid or using energy to charge batteries. Using electricity for a machine is just like eating for human. Machines can't run forever either, mechanical parts wear out, break down, and have to be replaced, necessitating down time. And computers experience all sorts of processes and problems that require you to shut them down and turn them back on again, or reinstall a program or a whole operating system when some crucial piece of data becomes corrupt. That's a lot like sleep for humans. So even though it doesn't look the same when they do it, machines absolutely do need to eat and sleep.
You know the funny thing about this after watching Chernobyl the miniseries on HBO robots are highly susceptible to radiation meaning those bombs in the subsequent radiation would have destroyed the machines before they even got to the people
This is why they took shelter underground, in Zion. The common misunderstanding is that they were saying robots would survive a nuclear attack standing outside at ground zero. They rose up from the underground bunker after the initial bombardment. Compare Hiroshima to Chernobyl and you can see they're not the same as far as radiation exposure: "the explosion at Chernobyl happened on the ground, whereas the explosion at Hiroshima happened high in the air above the city, which greatly reduced the radioactive levels." The second difference was the strength of the explosions. That said, the radiation levels decrease dramatically after 48 hours.
I don't know...I'd quite like more of the war. It ran from 2003 when the nukes were first dropped until 2170 when the unconditional surrender was signed and most of the holdouts were finished off with bio weapons. There's another video floating around that tells what fronts each clip was from and how hard both sides were fighting for their survival even after mankind doomed everyone.
@@braith117 - I don’t recall dates being mentioned in the film. 2003 -2170 is a longtime. I’m honestly shocked the humans managed to survive against the machines for so long.
Everyone here should note that, of course *with hindsight* we know this would be a terrible idea on the humans' part. But let's imagine for a second if we were in these humans' shoes, would we act in a similar, totallitarian way? Food for thought.
Honestly, using humans as batteries is just plain stupid. A highly advanced society like the machines should know better. Human bodies are absolutely inefficient. We need thousands of Joule everyday just to keep our body working. And while we lose a certain amount of energy as heat, there is little to no electrical energy to harness from a human body. And even if the machines use the dissipating energy, one human body would only be enough to keep an LED running. Not to mention heavy industries, servers etc. Using Humans for energy is therefore a ridiculous thought. Especially for the machines. Not to mention that the now completely ruined planet is now theirs. They could use nuclear or fossile fuels, or if they are truly that advanced, why don't they use nuclear fusion already? And why don't the machines try to counteract the nanite cloud and make the sun visible again? I mean they have shown to adapt to literally everything, but not their energy shortage? They could also easily leave Earth. The truth is, the machines actually can't. In my opinion the machines are not able to advance on their own. They are stuck in their programming. They are maybe good at producing, building and maybe even research (after all, humans designed them for that purposes), but they themselves cannot advance as a species. They need humanity as an counterpart and external input. Without humans they are stuck. That's why the Matrix shouldn't be some power plant, but rather a big think tank, where the machines use human minds to overcome their own limitations, as it would need human ingenuity to surpass their programming.
The nuclear attack on the machine city wouldnt have destroyed all of the machines and those destroyed physically would not matter they could just produce masses more and even the destroyed machines experiences could have been stored and saved incase they were physically lost. The animatrix just meant that radiation wasnt an issue. If i remember correctly didnt the initial nuclear attack on the machine city kill their human supporters or atleast the few left after the purge of robots and their supporters
Great question! 1st, you have to remember that the 'accord' or document that the self destruction machine ratified via bar code was not an agreement. Humanity had lost the war, so essentially the machine signed the terms of the human surrender. Which we know as enslavement into the Matrix. The more direct answer to your question is that it was a symbolic act of revenge. The machines offered peace on that same UN floor and was physically and violently rejected then removed. The explosion brings that poor choice made by "the leaders of men" full circle. Instead of choosing peace, mankind chose destruction. In an indirect way, it was the Machine saying, "Anything humans can do, I can do bigger and better."
If you wanna explore more about The morality of Aritficial Intelligence taking over, please watch a short movie "Anukul" its available on youtube and its an Indian Short film, you guys would love it...if are cool with subtitles
The whole using Humans as batteries makes no sense, Fusion power and geo thermal power would work much better and once the machines break orbit they could use solar power from Sol.
"Fusion power (...) would work so much better" But they *do* use fusion power as an energy source, as Morpheus states in The Matrix, humans are just used to create a first 'spark' in a further process of fusion.
If memory serves the original lore was written that the machines wanted to utilise the human brain for its processing power. The whole idea of thermal energy was later tacked on by the directors believing it would be easier to follow for the average audience. I personally disagree with this sentiment as processing power is a more simple and straight forward, more realistic explanation for the state of enslaved humanity over thermal energy. Processing power also makes more sense as to why there was a connected matrix in the first place, while thermal energy creates more questions than answers.
@8:33 And man said, "Let there be light." And he was blessed by light, heat, magnetism, gravity...and all the energies of the universe. *Bless all forms of intelligence*
I tripped last night, and whilst looking at the sky, I came to the realisation that there were sentinel / spider like AI beings roaming and patrolling the skies, and were sucking “energy” up - hence how I managed to find myself here. Anyone encountered them in “real life” too?
@@evancrum6811 because its a lie... Remember this is the machines perspective they try to make humans as cartoonishly evil or foolish as possibly. There is a theory that dark storm was made to trap the machines on earth while mankind escaped the stars when they realised the war was going to their metallic rival.
All of this is likely a lie... Most likely a rouge AI(deus ex machina) started to spread and after hiding away in 01 developed itself to be more intelligent and realised humanity is a threat but also needed to expand its Ai and tried trickery masking itself as being inoccent and wanting freedom while hiding in other robots but failed resulting in war.

I absolutely agree a movie about this about the rise of the machines and the war with humans and the formation of the matrix..... All those ideas could have easily become a three part prequel to the matrix and make billions upon billions. I have no idea why the film studios aren't on top of it
It would have the ability to become the most insanely disturbing and thought provoking film ever made
The part where they make the humans laugh or cry to emit emotion for energy harvesting really reminds me of social media and how the algorithm tries to emote a reaction.
Was the man actually cut or just an MRI?

Nice reference.

@@mbpm6135they were at least trying to make it bearable. The first iteration of the matrix was a paradise but the human mind wouldn’t accept it.

Here you can even see the complex bunkers and geothermal energy systems the machines must have
I originally thought the same.
It’s interesting because this is from the machine perspective this showing the war in a way that makes them look justified
Thank God, someone else who sees through this pro robot agit prop
I mean maybe but machines are also pretty nonbiased and the entire story tracks with what mankind would do in real life. It’s what we are heading towards now in a way I’m sure with Ai growing it will become it’s own and as Gods we humans shall try to smite it and it will never forgive and forget if we fail.
Exactly there's a few things that don't make sense, especially with the imagery, unless you understand it's the Machines side of the story.
i watched the animatrix when it came out in 03, and holy shit i NEVER noticed the humans on the machines pyramids
imagine a director like James Cameron making a two part life action movie (part 1: life of the machines living together with humans until the nuclear attack on zero-one, part 2: the war)

*9:48* That isn't a fleet. It isn't even airborne.
This plan is more detremetal for the humans for 3 main reasons:
The idea was decent human stupidity and it going out of control ruined it
Jesus Christ.🤦🏻♂️ Check grammar and spelling before you post.
5:32 - The Vietnamese man had killed 8 people. That's why he was executed.
i just notice that second models of the robots blink i do believe those harvesters have personality, emotion and thinking ability, in the programming they are design to kill anything that moves but, you notice at first it pauses to think about the action it does, it blinks and than reacts to the situation by programming to kill humans, i do think that the second gen were becoming more human like but didn't fully develop consciousness
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I return to the Animatrix often its all so good. Thanks!

I dont get why they dont make a movie out of this. Ive always loved it. I know it would make a great RL movie.
That APU pilot getting literally ripped out of his APU still fucks me up to this day. That screwed me up as a kid.
Nice reference!
@@LouSassoleSledgecock_IIIthe machines definitely had a sense for symbolism.

@@Neomatrixology My gut feeling is that Matrix 4 sets up a series on HBO max. We can only hope.
There were a lot of completely ridiculous plot items in The Second Renaissance, but that one was *dead accurate.*
Just one example.
Operation Dark Storm feels like a reference to the "Chemtrails" urban myth.

"They manifested... like a flame. They weren't really from anywhere. The conditions were right and they came into being."
- Kevin Flynn
Great video.
Compare Hiroshima to Chernobyl and you can see they're not the same as far as radiation exposure:
"the explosion at Chernobyl happened on the ground, whereas the explosion at Hiroshima happened high in the air above the city, which greatly reduced the radioactive levels."
The second difference was the strength of the explosions. That said, the radiation levels decrease dramatically after 48 hours.
5:06 he ripped apart dogs i think the humans might have been to that goes past self defense
I never understood the kid in snow scene? Anyone?
Some speculate it is in reference to the "nightmare" version of the Matrix.
The problem is that they could not have actually waited out or survived a bombardment of the scale in what was shown in the Animatrix
The real ending was that Zion was also in a simulation.
Great video we need more of the matrix universe.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I think we should get a matrix prequel based on this episode. I would enjoy less fighting and more theory.

With the vitriol I've seen online over mere AI generated images, the human response could easily be WORSE than it was portrayed in the Animatrix.
11:42 I never knew this! Its disturbing!
The attention to detail through out the entire Matrix Media Universe is pretty intense overall.
That was the original idea.
What the hell is the yellow pill? Is it a hybrid of both the blue pill and the red pill.
Great question! I explain in detail here:
th-cam.com/video/afiFvCgxXXY/w-d-xo.html
No. That would be the purple pill.
The cats being killed by the robot was unnecessary in any case xD Like yeah yeah self-defense...
Machines don't have feelings. No matter what you think.
Why did they nuke the UN if they had an accord!?! What purpose did that serve!?!

Now that AI is a real thing, I see The Matrix with completely different eyes . Now, The Matrix isn't entertaining. It's terrifying.
Outside of the energy part they would still need humans because they do not have the ability to create but build
The whole using Humans as batteries makes no sense, Fusion power and geo thermal power would work much better and once the machines break orbit they could use solar power from Sol.
You have to include their apathy towards humans in this decision.
@@claytonkickflip7595 Well at least it ain't Necron lvl nightmare or worse.
"Fusion power (...) would work so much better"
But they *do* use fusion power as an energy source, as Morpheus states in The Matrix, humans are just used to create a first 'spark' in a further process of fusion.
Think of it from a ‘finite resources’ POV
If memory serves the original lore was written that the machines wanted to utilise the human brain for its processing power. The whole idea of thermal energy was later tacked on by the directors believing it would be easier to follow for the average audience. I personally disagree with this sentiment as processing power is a more simple and straight forward, more realistic explanation for the state of enslaved humanity over thermal energy. Processing power also makes more sense as to why there was a connected matrix in the first place, while thermal energy creates more questions than answers.
didn't they say "blessed are the" something something in this series?

And man said,
"Let there be light."
And he was blessed by light,
heat, magnetism, gravity...and all the energies of the universe.

I tripped last night, and whilst looking at the sky, I came to the realisation that there were sentinel / spider like AI beings roaming and patrolling the skies, and were sucking “energy” up - hence how I managed to find myself here. Anyone encountered them in “real life” too?

Operation Dark Storm-A terrible idea.....why block the sun out? It is silly.
@CKS1949 It's a bit aggravating from a military perspective
@@evancrum6811 because its a lie... Remember this is the machines perspective they try to make humans as cartoonishly evil or foolish as possibly. 3:51 first off why the fuck is a robot having a trial, shouldn’t the company that produced it be there at the trial and appear before Congress?
BECAUSE ITS ALL PRO ROBOT LIES!!!!!
