Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has been out for a month now, and as a variation from our Sekiro boss rankings, I'll be uploading a few Sekiro Speedrun tutorial videos. Today we will be running the Sekiro Any% Shura Ending route with more of the major skips like Gyoubu Skip, Bull Skip, Folding Monkey Skip, Guardian Ape Skip, and more. This gets you a faster time, but sadly has you fighting less bosses.
I originally set out with a goal of hitting under 1 hour with this route and then doing more advanced skips. With the skips I wanted to acheive sub-40, but it was clear after a few runs that getting closer to 30 minutes was possible. I was thrilled with this run and I'm excited to do more Sekiro speedruns. Smaller maps are more exciting to explore when all the interesting stuff is more concentrated

yeah its honestly a really small game when you look at it. first playthrough takes hours and hours because your exploring everything but after the first playthrough you realise just how quickly you can glide through sekiro.

@@madmanlucina Git Gud and run away, basically. Do people actually do these runs for reasons other than putting them on TH-cam? I can't see any reasons why you would want to skip boss fights.
@@Leonhart_93 I like speedrunning because its an example of constant work towards perfection. Every speedrun has some rng and a ton of skill involved so its such a good feel to see the timer lower and lower. I personally dont speedrun but I enjoy watching them often.
@@Sp33dyJohn This argument doesn't work for these "any%" runs as they call them, which means the more you can skip through textures and bugs, the better.
From my point of view you can't get time perfection from those...
Lol, the game is actually so short what made it longer was me dying again n again n again.
actually dying is really the only thing that prolongs the game so much. if you never die and collect all the things you're done in less than 10 hours.

Yeah, game is surprisingly short an easy in the second - (number) time. Just finished today in 16 hours on secret ending with 20 life.
Not really “beating” the game. Dude is skipping 90% of it thru exploiting glitches and shit. Whatever floats peoples boats I guess

for the bull skip, if you are on pc demod, use KB+M practice the jump and you should be able to nail it better than with controller

I haven't been able to land it with joystick, and I suck with KBM xD, and I was only able to pull horse/demon skip like...twice

I honestly can't understand how airswim run is even fun to pull off... You skip basically everything and the bosses that you do fight in the route, you cheese the fuck out of. They turned Genichiro (spoilers for those who haven't played, but uhhhh the fuck you doing here in the first place) which is my favourite boss in the game... into a pushover in < 1 minute. That's where I turned away. Cool he has the world record and all, but it's boring to watch.

Loving these runs from you. I’m not a huge fan of the air swim skips or honestly even out of bounds skips at all and I’m glad you have the same (general) opinion on that. Super excited for all memories/beads runs

I remember when the mod was saying he didn’t want to do more walkthroughs... Im so happy he is still doing this. Its just exciting enough to watch but with a level of relaxation you don’t feel panicked while things potentially go awry.

Distortion uses air swim if I'm not mistaken, that's a different run.

Look guys I'm aware, distortion does his thing and is good at it. Demod even says in this video if you watch it that he knows that his route isn't the fastest and there are ways to cut time everywhere, it's still a good time and he explains how the skips work, it's all for fun.

Hey Demod, thought I'd share the good news that I FINALLY beat Genichiro the other day. Hopefully I'll be able to cross Lady Butterfly off my list soon, but until then I'm on to Senpou temple!

Ha stoopid I have beaten the game in under 9 minutes you fool
Using dashing attacks will keep lady b in a stagger loop and you can cheese her first phase easily in you need to. It's a little less effective in the second phase but still works. She's a great boss to learn how to use block/deflects fluidly in combat so only 🧀 if absolutely necessary
@@mollywhoppedsouls_pvp worked out great in 2nd phase too, use shuriken to get her to the ground when she's in the air and just stun lock her to death, in my 2nd phase she couldn't even spawn her minions, she did it very late, the second before I finished her off. the stun lock ist op on her.

Do a light exercise

Stare in the mirror trying to find any glimmer of hope and life that may be left in your eyes
Drink yourself into a coma

i took my time with the game in total took me about 30+ hours to beat the entire game and do everything i could find at least, fantastic game except for the last boss gah!

I love that skip for Gyoubu and figured it out not from him but from Demon of Hatred mostly because that skip is far more manageable if you trap him in a corner (if you take too long with Gyoubu he destroys the watchtower I believe). Even in 2023 a lot of these strats still work and I’ve been able to consistently pull them off! Awesome video showing off some of the best things about this game!

@@kinorris1709 forgive me, as this comment happened three months prior to me Beating the dark souls trilogy. I had seen a mod in which someone married the fire keeper so it led me to believe that you could in the base game, (without mods) marry the fire keeper. I was saddened to find that you can’t (without mods) lol.
You can get the Flower and the Stone before Genichiro, but you have to Grab the Mortal Blade after Genichiro to trigger Owl at the top. Its a little time save :)
That's a neat idea! Would you save time though since you don't directly fight Ape anymore for the attack power?
Not a speed runner myself because of all the glitches and skipping but I dig these videos you do regardless, Demod. Always enjoy your take, especially on FromSoft games.
@Charles Hastings most definitely, watching speed running has eased my anxiety of pushing through certain areas, if a blue faced naked guy can hop through it with ease, I should be able to.

@@lukethecoolfool That's where I got stuck too! Honestly though, after I beat him, I cruised through the rest of the game and beat it a few days later. I really miss the RPG elements and game play diversity you get from From's other games. I had a lot more fun playing through DarkSouls3 before I jumped back into Sekiro. Now I'm finishing Nioh, another game I put on hold for some reason, and it really solidifies my feelings towards Sekiro. It's a really beautiful, well crafted game, but far from my favorite. I'm not sure I will ever feel like playing through it again. At least not anytime soon.
@@consoul.34 I truly believe I'll never beat that damn monkey. I havent even tried, just thinking about it puts me off from the game lol. I'm actually playing through dark souls 2 for the first time right now and I'm having a blast with it. Hopefully Elden Ring returns to the former more RPG-ish elements that made soulsborne games a unique experience per playthrough.
@@lukethecoolfool I'm also rippin some DS2 right now. Though it's so much slower than DS3 and Bloodborne I'm having trouble getting into it. That monkey is a real son of a bitch, he gave me the second most trouble past Genichiro. But once you get your strategy down he becomes manageable. If you get too frustrated you can always look up some tips. Or I can tell you how I finally put him down.

Is this monkey skip still working? I swear I am in the right spot (even get the boss HP gauge to appear in the corner), but I die before the area loads, and I have nothing to grapple to.
Cool speedrun although I would like to see a max attack gain shura run. Is it possible to get the double apes? And can you get lapis lazuli when you do the shura ending?
I think this is the first time I’ve truly enjoyed a TH-cam video. I just bought the game, I can’t get past the first boss, and this guy knows the game like he created it. Wild!

I just beat The final boss last night! It was such a wild ride, but this game is just... just so friggin' good. I feel like I'm actually good at video games now! As a Dark Souls/Bloodborne fan, I was kinda in the fence about this game. But of al things, this is what seal the deal for me. I LOVE the flow of the game. The movement and grappe thing seems to give a lot possibilities and the combat is awesome and different.

I just finished the game for the very first time. Idk if I should play new game plus or start all over from zero and get the other endings (I got the best one already) because in new game plus I find fighs too hard but stealth too easy D:
