Mario and Luigi has meant more to my life than pretty much any other game. It was one of my first games, and my very first story driven game. It crushed my heart when I heard the series developer went bankrupt, and after almost a decade, I lost all hope in thinking the series would come back. But somehow, a small spark of hope remained. And when that beautiful trailer was shown in my eyes, that spark ignited into a spiraling inferno. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw those three simple words show up on screen. Paper Mario blew my mind, Mario RPG shocked me, but this game mattered to me the most. It felt like finally coming home. I am home.
I ain’t reading all that, but it’s really cool yeah game too. I’m excited I’m gonna pick it up when it comes out.
I'm right there with you. Mario & Luigi has always been my favorite series, so the long hiatus and Alphadream's closure hit hard. This was a very unexpected but very welcomed surprise.

@@Tobiazinth i was stuck in one of the floor puzzles in Somnom woods and despite watching a ZackScottGames playthrough of that section I was certain I had softlocked my entire save (obviously it wasn't)

Imagine being tuned in, waiting for the Direct to begin, and then the second you see this glorious trailer start, your boss comes to talk your ear off about the bat he found in his kitchen last night, and I mean, he's the boss so you just gotta listen to a story about a confused bat followed by a TED talk about bat houses, but hey, at least you got to see Zelda and Prime 4 when you clicked back over.

It seems to not be multiplayer. I honestly thought that on some items, you can press a button to make Luigi stand where it’s needed. Kinda like commanding a Pikmin to pick up a fruit
Well tbh the series is a type of multi task like where you need to make sure both brothers are helping eachother solve puzzles

I swear I could cry, like fr Mario & Luigi Partners in Time and Bowsers inside stories on the DS were my fav games (with Pokemon but lets ignore that). So hearing that the developers went bankrupt made me extremely sad. But now almost 12 years after I last played the series (I lost both games) hearing about the new game brings my inner child out again

I can’t wait for this game. I fell in love with the series immediately on GBA but Partners in Time was my favorite entry. Honestly PIT was my favorite JRPG of all time right there with FF games. Idk why, it just was so perfect for my taste. I really loved Dream Team and all the others as well but I am excited for a brand new Switch entry and new M&L entry in general. Should be awesome!

Bowsers inside story is one of my favourite games ever and am so glad to see this series come back

I'm really excited for this game too! I'm just so happy that Mario & Luigi didn't die when AlphaDream went bankrupt! I'm really grateful to the Mario & Luigi series for Minion Quest and Bowser Junior's Journey, basically showing just how not evil Bowser's minions and the Koopalings and Junior really are, I love the Mario & Luigi series, holds a special place in my heart for also being the only series that actually had a side mode with the Koopalings and Junior as the main protagonists, one thing I've wanted for the loooonggeeeeeest time. I'm so happy this series didn't go down after the bankruptsy.
The multiplayer part is actually such a great idea
I've been sooo excited! I've been replaying some of the older games! Second time around, I have been enjoying Paper Jam more than I should be 😂

It might be twin stick, actually! There have been games like a tale of 2 brothers, unrailed, and death squared where the controller gets split in half and one half controls one character and the other half controls the second at the same time!
I don't think it will have a multiplayer
Especially because one of the main points of the series is that the brothers actions make use of 2 buttons (normally A to mario e B to Luigi) but It would be cool to have a multiplayer option
But ine thing that I noticed
Its that in the hammer minigame the buttons showed are the X and Y
Which made me curious
What if they decided to put the hammer actions on the X and Y instead of using the R and L to switch the A and B commands?
The entire series was my childhood! Seeing the trailer for this new game hit me back with nostalgia. I can't wait for it, and I'm going to preorder it before it releases in November!

For the part where Luigi is moving indpeendently, a prompt to press L pops up above Luigi for a moment. I think it's just setting him to stand on a specific spot for the puzzle, not multiplayer
Somehow I feel like this is going to feel like Mario sunshine and Mario rpg cause peach hasn’t been captured yet.
Getting a new M&L game announced is hype on it's own but once you add on the tons of peoples thoughts that M&L being dead in the water due to AlphaDream going bankrupt you multiply that hype ten fold.
I'm more than confident this game isn't Multiplayer, but you can technically do a multiplayer run by simply using joycons and editing the controls.
From what it looks like, Luigi is not controlled independently. There’s a button prompt that looks like it makes him do whatever context sensitive action he needs to do
I’m glad that they’re bringing Mario and Luigi back but I wished it looked a little unique but it’s a start.

While still unlikely, this still gives me hole for a possible partners in time remake or sequal, hell ill even take a spin off/side story
we gotta get at least one of every game so the new guy can show us how he fits into each game style
What’s even better they’re going back to the superstar saga formula with the bros attacks being a spin on regular attacks instead of items(edit: I went back and noticed they MERGED the formulas which makes me very happy)

Dream Team, Superstars Saga, Partners in Time, Paper Jam and Inside Story, ive been playing Mario and Luigi for as long as I can remember and I woke up my whole house when i saw the trailer, and I'd do it again if it meant it came to us sooner

I think they could utilize the two joy-con capabilities in Single Player aa an optional control scheme. Each bro controlled by one joy-con each if/when they split up to complete puzzles.
Combat could consist of using the Triggers and Inner Z Buttons of each Joy-Con rather than the face buttons to make using each bro a little more uniform; you wouldn't have to reach your finger down or up off the joysticks to act or counter in battle.
I hope Starlow somehow makes an appearance

I doubt its multiplayer, it could just be that the right stick can control luigi independently while the left controls both normally. idk it just makes the most sense to me

1) Good: We got a amazing return of this saga.
2) Neutral: I cant process all of this, I was traumatized than this saga wont return cuz fault of Nintendo, and also the remakes Alphadream do just to SURVIVE, and Nintendo seeing them dying, without doing nothing...i hate this, they just spitted up this game, playing with our minds and making us suffering psicologicaly (if it wasnt for new and maker cant exist wonder) and economically...i cant process the trauma I just received yesterday...idk if cry or laugh of the boom-shot i receive...
2) Bad: I am upset cuz Toadsworth, Stuffwell, Alphadream and Charles Martinet are ☠️ rn cuz fault of Nintendo 🎉

I always watched M&L gameplay back when I was probably 5 or 7 and wished I could play it myself. I don’t have a 3ds but I do have a switch and this direct made my dreams come true

I'm cautiously optimistic. The title seems a bit flat compared to the usual naming scheme and the graphics in the trailer kinda hurts my eyes? But if it ends up being good, then it ends up being good and thats always a win. Considering nintendo seems to want to make good mario RPGs considering the recent remakes, maybe they're prepared to do so
