@@MUDmotoTRIP but watching all the fun you are having might make me sad. I need to fix up my bike and get out of this mexican beer virus lockdown. :-( Subd!
@@craigblanckenberg4607 you're right brother! here too everything is blocked. Italy is slowly starting again. Take advantage now to fix your bike so it will be ready for the summer
You guys are riding some pretty vintage bikes there. The last year they built an XL600 was 1987. I had one and it was a hell of a machine. However, it was not built as an "enduro". It was a dual sport and the last of the truly great thumpers in its day. It also produced more horsepower than its cousin, the XR600 made the same year. Partly because the XR used a single carb, while the XL used a dual carb setup. Even though the XL was also built for the street, it was a very capable offroader. They handled exceptionally well in the dirt in all conditions, as seen in this video. BTDT myself and have actually had to carry my bike out of a mud pit like what was shown in this video. Keeping in mind the XL600 had a dry weight of 320 pounds in 1987. Lets see a 13 year old kid do that these days. It's not going to happen.
Don't feel bad my 83 XL 600 left me stranded exactly like this rear wheel buried in soft wet sand with a suction on the wheel no way could 1 man get it out because you would sink to your knees also.
I smiled the WHOLE video through!
My fav bike and fav kind of riding... exploring.
Have owned a 1983 xl600r since ~1992.

Did the 87 xl had more hp then dual carb 85 xr ? I was always told xr had better cam bigger carb bigger header lower gearing & stiffer susp
