I just got a 104001 and I will say I Love It. I've watched several videos. I paid close attention to the positive and negative reviews. To me it seemed like a Do Your Own Thing and Be Creative. So that's what I did. I took all the electronics out and made it Brushless. I also replaced the Center Spool with a TRL 22X-4 Center Diff. I do plan on to a lot more 👍🏾👍🏾

Can I offer some info? WLToys made a fan port & a secondary port which the fan plug fits - that's what I gather from your narration. Why are you confused about it? What they've done is to make it so the fan saves you batt power (Didn't you say the original batt was smaller?) by not running when the esc is cold. You don't need it running all the time and if you do, you use up batt power quicker. Just my 2 cents.
I'm not confused about it but I think the fan should run full time so there is no chance of the ESC to get hot that way,just like brushless ESC have the fan running all the time, I think that wltoys should've just had live power as a small fan like this doesn't really chew up that much power at all
Seems like it could use a better weight oil or spring so it doesn't bottom out all the time..
Yeah a heavier weight oil would be better especially in the rear

Most rc that I know or had the fan turn on when the esc gets hot.. but a cool idea would be to connect a light to the port and would turn on when it's got hot enough..
I love mine for only $120 (now $146.99). But still a great toy to not get too serious with but can still get a little :)

I imagine their choice to not have the fan always be on (if I understood you correctly) was related to power consumption. Fan eats precious minutes off that really cheap battery they like to give you in these types of things. (I fear all stock batteries from almost all products in all categories, dont mind me I'm just crazy.)

this one being a larger 10 scale handles even better thant he 12th scale 124019 in my opinion and is built better overall, thanks for watching 👍

Presumably the fan only runs when needed... why waste power? They probably did that intentionally.
I'm so jealous though, everyone else is getting em but mine hasn't shipped yet and I ordered around the 6th... lol
Waste power? Lol these fans don't chew up much power at all, I'd rather run it all the time like most brushless esc fans do and run the car cooler at all times then make it over heat, watch my review video and you'll see what I mean 👍

Received mine today and it feels extremely undergeared. The 124001 and 144001 are much faster with the same electronics
