Three weeks ago, I ran in 7 degree weather with 45 mph winds and snow. It was almost unbearable running into the wind. But when I was done, I had a feeling I will never forget! I love stuff like that and it’s nice knowing someone else does too.
I love the ending! I think there is research on the benefits of practicing sport outside - if for any other reason, than because of fresh air and sun/natural light exposure. One thing about biking is exactly this - no way to escape it factor. No matter how tired or fed up I am, I need to keep riding to get back home. Still, the gym definitely helps me having better results outdoors.
Plus you learn how to orient and find ways in the unknown landscape, learn how to predict weather using your own eyes without phone, feel the daylight circles, hear natural sounds of nature without any “chill soundtracks” and more
I prefer outside run over any gym. Even most exclusive. Even in the rain. I don't know why, but I just don't get, what I want emotionally from exercising in a gym. It makes my muscles grow, but I'm not happy.
great video One thing I know for sure is that the joy of running (beyond the runners high of the need to feel the endorphin rush) is the memories of where I have ran at over the years in different locations And now that I have the Insta 360 X 3 I am starting to record those memories to be able to look back on them. On your concept of not having a choice of how you get back to where you started without continuing to run , try this I was once running through the back alleys and streets of Tokyo Japan and realized that I was lost. Due the language barriers and such I just muddled my way back to to where I started by using some of the surrounding tall buildings as landmarks. Probably one of my most epic and memorable runs. Wish I had that camera with me back then or maybe a cell phone -- lol but that as a few decade ago.
That's a great story. I lived in Tokyo for a while too and know how confusing those narrow streets can be - you were lucky not to have been run over by a truck :)
@@satiricalrunner oh I dodged a few in those alleys I found out real fast why they have those big old convex mirrors on blind corners I’m sure you know what I’m talking about BtW keep up the great videos They are very inspirational At the age of 67 I am training for my first 5K in several years next month Running it with my daughter Your videos have been spot on and so on point Thanks again
I ran my first 5K in 10 years at the age of 67 It was pouring down rain and the vineyards we ran in were a mud bowl It was awesome Thanks for the inspiration
Perhaps some time off and strengthening exercises, or even physio, could prevent that developing into something problematic. Always address potential injuries early.
Fair enough, but some of us live in very hot and humid climates. I counter this by running before dawn mostly but some people can't even stand doing that.
My goal is 50 to 60 minutes of Zoon 2 a day, jogging is the fastest and most enjoyable way to achieving it ! 🏃🏽♂️ 🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️, I do the my exercises in my basement with a few light weight, very convenient.

You stood up to the wind and won:)
I thought I didn't like running, but I decided to start because of inspiring people like you. I now see my surroundings as a great playground.
That is great! It is meant to be fun!

It is good to have gym for focussed exercise, and outdoors for freedom.

My whole running career started with orienteering :) I will do a video about that one day.

Yes, cold air and rain can refresh the spirit somehow
great video

Love this video. Describes so well why running outside will always trump exercising inside. Thank you.
Thanks. I think both have their place, but I just prefer the rain.

Great. The main thing is to enjoy it.
Bad clicking knee from running 6 miles on the coastline these days.

Plenty of people here who can't stand the thought of exercising inside or out :)
Thanks again for an satirical observation 😂 Hope you’re well? Best wishes
Just slightly damp, thanks

That sounds like a great program, but allow yourself a rest day for maximum benefit.
I don't like Jim. Jim is boring and carries everyone's germs.
Maybe don't lick the exercise Matt ;)
