53 yrs old and never brined a turkey because I thought it would make it salty. This thanksgiving I followed your recipe and the turkey was absolutely outstanding. Best turkey I’ve ever done and everyone raved about it. Thank you! Can’t wait to view more of your content.

This is your BEST video where you really explain everything and you're not using a turkey brine product that many can't find or afford. You told us all the ingredients we need. Just wish you'd say the actual measurements of the pot and the ingredients. But men don't usually focus on that stuff anyways.

Great video. My mom used to Brine her turkeys all the time for the holidays and I would help her out. Since she passed away my sister had been doing the turkey, but I'm hosting Christmas this year so I was taking the duty of brining the turkey. Your video is very helpful so that I can get an idea of what I was getting myself into. Much appreciation, sir. 😊

I have never cooked a turkey but was asked by a friend to make one for our Friendsgiving. Looked for brines and used yours except I used white sugar. I brined in the bottom portion of a crab pot for 24 hrs. Then, I slathered a butter compote with rosemary and thyme all over the bird for another 24 hours. Ohhhh we, my friends loved it, and I was so proud. Now I'm being asked to make another one 😂.

I've done brine before. I've waited 24 hours and noticed a little bit of a difference. This year, I tried your brine except I used pure maple syrup with it and also let it sit for 1 1/2 days. Boy oh boy! What a difference! I did notice a bit of saltiness, but not so much that it was a deal breaker. Came out juicy and flavorful. Best turkey I've ever done. Will definitely do again

My guy! Thank you for the video. Getting ready to brine and then do 40 minutes of pecan smoke. I've looked at 8 videos from the top search for Turkey Brine Recipes before seeing this video. Great recipe Ab! Brine is life. Ever since I brined my first turkey I have never looked back. The main reason for brining is to add moisture to the bird and make your cooking more forgiving to avoid getting that nasty dry turkey texture that you probably had in your younger years. Of course if you are infusing things in the bird you might as well impart some flavor in there. Brining will help your turkey no matter how you cook it afterwards (deep fry/smoke/oven/etc.) so give it a try.

Good stuff there! I use a 50/50 apple cider and water, salt, brown sugar, peppercorns, bay leaf, a knob of ginger, garlic, onions, oranges, Gochujang and a cinnamon stick. The Gochujang gives it an awesome colour and fruity flavour, with very little heat. Since it is just the two of us now, I spatchcock it and smoke it. I smoke my par-roasted root veggies during the last hour of smoking. Thank you for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving!

Made my first turkey without any help using this brine and the turkey was so juicy. The only changes I made was I used fresh herbs instead of dried and I only used 1.5 cups of salt instead of 2. For reference, I made a 20lb turkey, no injection. Coated the outside and under the skin with garlic herb butter, seasoned it, put onion, lemon, whole garlic, fresh rosemary, thyme, sage inside the turkey and it was incredibly flavorful. My family and guests were raving about it, there was NOTHING left!

I intended to get a brining bucket, but I didn't get a chance to. I got a big bag after seeing Malcom Reed brine a turkey, but i ended up just putting it in one of those disposable coolers and putting ice around the bag. I still have ice packs from when i ordered something from the butcher shop. I probably could have used those

AB ain't ever lied! Once you brine, you never want a bird seasoned any other way. I have people that don't brine or smoke meats, say things like, "everything doesnt have to be smoked to be good", as this can be true to alot of things, no, whole chickens, turkeys, seasoned and cooked in an oven, will NEVER be as good as a 24 hour brined bird, those are just facts.

Hey AB.... really good tip.... I've never brined a turkey. I usually put the dry herbs, lemons and oranges inside the bird. I cook it breast down. Never to old to learn.... thanks for the video!!!💕
