Radiation therapists administer doses of radiation to patients who have cancer or other serious diseases.
Radiation therapists operate machines, such as linear accelerators, to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to the region of a patient’s tumor. Radiation treatment may shrink or eliminate cancers and tumors.

Love the very detailed information with data visualization!!! Now I’m in the digital marketing data analytics field and just recently my sister went through the process of breast cancer . What I notice through her process was the lack of bilingual staff members ( my mother and grandmother are not fluent in English). With that being said it dawned on me that there’s a great opportunity to help the non English community (Spanish to be more specific) however o feel that my age(45) and perhaps the education process to become a Radiation Therapist is against me. Please feel free to provide feedback

    • @parism9302

The risk of exposure is quite small as when treating the patient with radiation you are not in the same room and usually, you'll wear radiation badges to monitor how much you have received

I’ve been told that may occur more on the dosimetry side of things, and less for the Radiation Therapists. Until things get like the movie iRobot where robots have smooth interactions and manual dexterity like humans, I wouldn’t worry too much. By that point the future will either be like Wall-E or Terminator, and we’ll have a whole set of new problems than just finding a job.
