Your half and half is gorgeous and the colours go so well together. Thanks for all you tips and tricks ❤
You are so welcome Carol. Xx
We share a birthday! Hope you had a fantastic one! I've been really enjoying your podcast since I found you about a year ago. You choose lovely patterns, colors and yarns. Very inspirational. Thank you!
Thanks so much Happy belated birthday! :)
You certainly were not too chatty for me !
I really appreciate you taking about the gauge problem that resulted from your crocheted provisional cast-on. I have had the same problem with multiple projects and since nobody else had mentioned that problem, I thought I was alone.
❤❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing that you experienced the same gauge issue. That helps confirm my own thoughts around it and it really is a thing. xx
😂😂😂. Oh my goodness Tash I would just love to be inside your head to see how it works. So many lovely projects past and present. Your Eric Bibb show sounds as if it would be a really great format for an evening out. What’s not to like good food, good company and great music. Happy belated birthday. 🙋🏼🏴
Thank you so much xx
Happy belated Birthday. 🎉 Thank you for another lovely Podcast 😊
Thank you so much Tanja. x
(pff think my comment disappeared just now, hope it won't come out twice 🙏) ...Loving your half and half so much! it is gorgeous! Love it when you are chatty, that is what we are here for! Great that you enjoyed your birthday! Hapy happy birthday! 🙌🏻✨🌷💚
Thank you so much!! That makes me feel better. :)
Hi Tasha, just wanted to let you know that you got a lovely mention on “Big Little Knits”……regarding adding short rows to The Anker Tee. XxxxX
Thanks so much for sharing with me Elizabeth. It was so lovely to hear Selma's kind words. :)
Hello, this got punted to me in my suggested videos, I have wanted to knit the half and half wrap for a while, your colour choices are beautiful 🤗
Thank you so much. :)
Hi Tash. I love your color choice in your 1/2 & 1/2 triangles wrap!
I’ve made two large one’s and am working on a third as a gift.
I tuck one long corner under opposite side over my shoulder and then the same on the other side.
The shawl stays put with no need for a pin or broach.
It also sits nicely around your neck.
Thank you so much Kelly for the tips on how to wear the H&H. I am going to give that a go. :)
What a lovely podcast with your works in progress taking centre stage. The shawl in red and pale blue looks stunning. I personally love the Dolman Sleeve Knit. I received 2 full cones of yarn the smaller one is pale turquoise and it is one ply and at precise intervals it gets thicker I have cast on size 5 needles and was I surprised it looks stunning and I cannot put down. The big cone is a cream beige and this one is also 1 ply with a different thickening at further intervals apart. Perhaps I must try using the yarn. Enjoy the weekend ❤😊
Thank you so much Rosemary. It is so lovely when our knitting delights us, especially when it is unexpected. Glad to hear you are enjoying your knitting. :)
Happy Birthday! 🎉🎁🎂! It’s a little late but heart felt. Enjoying your podcast and I love the saddle shoulder sweater that you are wearing in this episode. You are very nice and inspiring too🩷
Thank you so much Kathy. Hope you are enjoying your knitting. xx
❤
Happy belated bday! Great to hear you had a fabulous day 🎉
Thank you so much Allyson. x
Thank you for the episode! And happy belated birthday! 🥳 I think the folded armhole and neckband on your camisole look so great! I always struggle with a folded hem when picking up stitches afterwards (instead of starting with a provisional cast on), so maybe you can do a tutorial when you do the second armhole? Just the end when you fold down and sew down the ends to the rest of the top 🤗 have a lovely rest of the week and great weekend! 🥰
Thank you so much Christina. This is a really different kind of sew-down to normal as you are sewing down on the RHS. There is a video on the technique but it is narrated in Danish. You can still see how it is being sewn down though. But I am happy to do one on mine if someone might get something out of it. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm happy to do that. :)
Yay you’re half and half wrap is done! Great job, have a look at Leslie Friend, she places one corner (tip) over her shoulder wraps it around her neck like you did and then tucks the other corner underneath and places it on her shoulder. Kind of like a half knot and it works really well and stays on in place, I wore mine like this a bit last year. I think it was on one of her podcasts?!
I know what you mean about cami no9 but it looks so good. Your finishing is so neat, worth the effort.
Think your husband may have lost his sweater 🤭😂
Thanks for sharing, Karen 🥰
Ha! You were right!! I wore his sweater to work today... ;)
Thanks for the tip on watching how Leslie puts hers on. She is very stylish so i will have to go check it out. :)
Hope you have a good week. :)
Great podcast!❤ I’m glad you had a restful birthday! 🎂
Thank you!! 😊 I really did.

Happy Birthday 🎁🎈 mine was on Saturday 18th 🥳
Thank you so much Claudia. Happy birthday. Hope you had a lovely one. :)
Haooy birthday, Tash!!!
Thank you so much Rhonda. xx
Happy Birthday!!🥳🧶
Thank you so much Violet. x
Happy Birthday! I'm with you on the picking up of stitches...I winge any time I have to do it, though socks I can manage and chide myself because there are so few (typically). I will check out that summer tees--that ranking sounds great especially since I have the humidity factor where I live. Thanks for the recommendation.
Thank you so much Jessica. :)
Dear tash, I like the charisma stitch pattern which creates kind of a vertical striping effect that I find more flattering on me than horizontal stripes. But bottom up construction has not been a successful experience for me: my outline tee grew more than 5cm in length and I am not sure how to shorten it… I enjoy the try as you go Snow Wonder type project where you can adjust the fit as you do. Love your colors. Happy birthday!!! Marie
Thank you so much Marie. I am totally with you on preferring top down to bottom up. I usually feel nervous the whole time when doing bottom up that the lengths will be right. At least this pattern is a bit forgiving in that it is quite blousy about the ribbing. And because i am doing the ribbing later, i can make it a smidge longer if i need to. If something ends up way too long and it is bottom up, that is tricky to fix. You pretty much need to cut off the bottom and pick up live stitches and knit down. A pretty time consuming process so you would have to really want the outcome. :)
Another great podcast, thank you. So glad you had a great birthday🎉. By the way, I'm english and live in Greece and have been to wolongon dam. Sorry about the spelling.
Hi Suzanne. Thank you so much. Thanks for saying hi and sharing where you are from and where you are at now. Funny you have also been to Wollongong. It definitely is a bit out of the way from Sydney - but pretty down there. Thanks for watching. xx
The edging on your tank armhole looks very nice. No sign of the creative pain. Your birthday mug is striking and beautiful! Pens inside it will mark the interior won't it?...has done with my pen holder. My son who lives away gave me a great moose mug and I think of him every time I use it, and it makes the hot choccie even more special. Just saying.... Of course you have the amazing keepyourdrinkhot cup now. Never heard of it but what a great idea.
Thanks so much Joan. I know what you mean about the pens marking a cup. I had thought about maybe highlighters with lids so there wouldnt be any staining. But taking to work for hot chocolate sounds like a nice idea. I dont mind drinking hot chocolate as it cools. So i dont need my fancy mug for that. Thanks for the thoughtful idea. I like that you think of your son when you drink from a mug he gave you. :)
Happy birthday!!
Thank you so much Janet. xx
Your gold needle is an Addi Lace. I have an old one too that I no longer use as the cord is stiff. I was told that the gold/copper coating was meant to be warmer on your hands when knitting.
Thank you. Yes, i think i hear that as well. I just dont enjoy the way the stitches dont slide as easily on the needles.
Happy Birthday Tash 🎉Hope the fam thoroughly spoilt you Love your podcasts and love your finished Half and Half I’ve made 3 of them! Clearly I enjoy knitting wonderful mindless garter stitch 🤣 Such a soothing brain break or a distraction from the hubby’s footy watching He’s a primary school principal, so in the same career zone as yourself I have boundless respect for what you and he do and a big understanding of the endless hours of work involved Thanks for finding time to share your knitting adventures 🧶Yarny hugs from Melbourne💜🐨
Thank you so much Simone. Thank you for the encouragement and stopping in to share. I am impressed you made 3 H&H's. That is a LOT of knitting. It is very soothing though. So i expect I will make another one at some point. I want to see how much i wear this one. :)
Belated birthday wishes, young lady.🎉💐Thanks for another engaging episode. You are a champion to spend so long sewing down on the cami 9.Beautiful finish, btw👌Bec's gift is stunning. What a lovely friendship you have.Have a great end of week,Tash.🙏xx
Thank you so much Annie. Hope things are going well for you. xx
Happy belated birthday!
Thank you so much Deb! x
I love the tip about yarn choice when knitting for someone with whiskers 😋
Thanks Cindy. Yeah - it's a thing! :)
Happy birthday Tash, lovely knits as usual. So lovely to sit'n knit with you. ❤
Thank you so much Linda. x
Great podcast as always. I especially loved your podcast suggestion. She is so funny and informative at the same time. The soup dumplings and chicken nuggets had me laughing. Have a great week
Thank you so much Jennifer. x
Happy Birthday! Mine was yesterday the 21st🎉🎂🍾
Happy birthday!!
Glad you had a nice birthday, another Lovely podcast. My Sorrel Knitting is calling me, have a great week 🧶❤️
Thank you so much Micheline . Hope you are enjoying your Sorrel. Just you mentioning it makes me want to knit another one. xx
Oh that red is nice!! A big brooch would look great on that blue side that you prefer. The blue sweater looks very comfy.
Happy Birthday!!! Lovely gifts!
Thank you so much Evie. X
Happy Birthday Tash! Fellow Taurus! Lovely knits and great information as always. Look forward to your next one and the short row ribbing tutorial. I have been referring to your underarm stitches video for picking up for my sleeves - and my 'gaps' are far better now. :) Have a great week!
Thank you so much Leanne. Happy recent birthday to you too! I'm so glad you have found the tutorials helpful. Happy knitting and looking forward to your next podcast. x
Happy Birthday! Glad it was a good one. Love all of your podcast.
Thank you so much Patsy. x
Happy birthday 🎈 thanks for another enjoyable podcast.
Future fibre reminds me of Daria. Such a drole humour. 👩🌾🐑
Thanks so much. Yes, i appreciate her sense of humour. Her edits are effective in helping that come across. :)
Happy Birthday🎉 Great gifts. Another lovely podcast packed with interesting tidbits.
I can't believe that you've tracked your knitting all the way back to 2013 and maybe further. Abd that you could find the leftover yarn to mend your "friend from the vault". Very impressive. That must have been before Ravelry or maybe not.
Thank you so much Lisa. When I started really getting into knitting again, ravelry was still in Beta phase but nearly ready to launch fully. I had a look and saw I joined in September 2008! I loved being able to search for patterns and see other people's projects and what they had made with certain yarns. I also always lost bits of paper with notes on them so I decided early on to put my notes (and my yarn) in ravelry and have pretty much kept quite consistent with that. So good when doing a repeat knit or thinking of what to make or remembering how much yarn i have in a certain base. :)
Happy Birthday!!! My husband’s birthday was Monday the 20th so we were celebrating him. I am really looking forward to your Poppy Tee. I really want to make one as well but I’ll wait to see how you enjoy the pattern. 😊 Have a wonderful week! ❤
Thanks so much Maryann. I really shouldnt cast on but I am so keen. Maybe if i hit some goals in my other projects - split off sleeves again for Snow Wonder, finish the second armband of Cami #9. Incentive to get those things done. Have a great week. :)
Happy birthday! Here’s hoping your next fortnight flies by so you can enjoy your weekend away with hubby. Re your snow wonder jumper when you cast on extra stitches under the arms how long do those stitches stay on? Or do you just leave them and decrease as the pattern says (even though I know you often do rapid decreases frequently on your arms) thanks again for another great episode!
Thanks Michelle. I have a feeling the sleeves are going to be a bit snug so i would just try on the sweater as I go and see if it feels like i need to start decreasing soonish. Even if i was tapering the sleeves, I wouldnt usually start doing that until about 4" past the split. It is very much trying on as i go and decreasing based on fit. :)
Your work is stunning! Love listening to your TH-cams. The half and half shawl you made is inspiring me. Did you do the larger one?
Thank you so much. Oh, yes! I sure did. It was a lot of knitting but it was really enjoyable to watch it grow and i am so happy i made it. :)
HAPPY 🎉BIRTHDAY🎉
Thank you so much Sheila. X
Another great episode Tash! I was wondering what length circular needle you use for the half & half wrap. Do you need one longer than 100 cm for all the stitches to fit? Yours looks fabulous!!!😃
Thank you so much Susie. I used a 120cm needle. I think you could get away with 100cm, it would just be a bit bunched and you would have to be careful not to lose stitches so i would definitely have needle-stoppers on the end when you put it down to be sure. :)
Happy Birthday again! I love your husbands sweater on you. I know not everyone likes the oversized boyfriend look and it doesn't suit every body type the same but it sure looks great on you. Very youthful in my opinion.
Did you use the same needle brand for your neck and armhole finishings on the cami no9? I found out that my 3mm metal needles from ChiaoGoo and Knitters pride are not exactly the same size! Probably doesn't make a difference on a larger gauge but on the small needles it will. And I feel the same about the cami. I made it in a vibrant green in 100% cashmere. Which I love but I wouldn't consider it a basic staple because of the colour. I would like it in a neutral colour but I don't think I can do the finishings again. The sewing down is just too painful. But it's what makes this cami "special" so leaving out this step like the pattern suggest as an alternative is not an option for me.
Thank you so much Ursula. I am with you on the Cami #9 - the finishings are what make it special but this is the stuff i dont enjoy doing. So it would be a hard ask to do it again, but as you say, not much point without doing this step. I have found someone of my needles arent exactly the same size but it is more the 3.5mm and 3.75mm that dont seem to quite be the same across brands. All the other sizes seem pretty close. For the 2mm they are all the same. It was definitely the style of knitting and circumference of the needle that made the difference to my gauge. I felt it as i was knitting it, so i knew. But just kept pushing on ... It has turned out ok but if i was to do it again, i would magic loop or 2 circs the armhole as well. IF i do it again...
@@mostlyknitting maybe next year when I am able to tell myself it wasn't that bad lol
The red poppy looks so good on you… just saying. I know you like the blue better so if that’s what you feel best in, that’s what’s important. I think I like the poppy side best on you.
Thank you so much. Xx
