So nice to have cheaper recommendations like Drops and my favourite go-to Järbo MellanRaggi as well as the luxury brands like Isager and KfO Pure Silk which l dream of trying!
glad to hear! yarns can definitely be sooo expensive, and I totally get that not everyone can spend 2000 sek on a sweater... sometimes it's nice to treat yourself, but there are so many great options at different price ranges :)
wow, that's great info! hmm, like I said - I'd love to try it! I saw that koutovakika likes to hold it with a strand of silk mohair, don't remember why, but maybe it could have something to do with that?
@@woolandbeyond If I understood correctly she used silk mohair to give some shine and dimension to the fabric, although Melody surely don’t lack dimension 😂, yes its not that shiny. For next season Im hoping to solve this problem so I can make more of that gorgeous warm cuddly fluff. Please keep us posted on your channel when you will have experience with this yarn.
I am looking at starting the Beyond Basic Sweatshirt soon and am wondering if you know the number for the mohair color you have used. I love your combination!
Really enjoying your podcast and designs! I'll be visiting Malmö in April and would appreciate any yarn store suggestions. I can get Knitting for Olive (mutual favourite) and some Drops locally, but want to explore Isager, Gepard and other Scandinavian yarns I can otherwise only mail order from here. Thanks! And good luck with the book!
thanks! and cool that you're coming to malmö! however, the yarn stores here are not really my faves... I love to shop online since I can do it when I'm waiting for the kids to fall asleep etc, but if I were to go to a yarn shop I'd definitely take the 20 min train to Copenhagen! the yarn shops there are a lot nicer and has a lot more variety!
I enjoyed your recommendations! My favourite silk mohair is a tie between Isager and Krea Deluxe. I find the Krea to be less fluffy but more shiny. I've just started knitting a sweater in Emilia & Philomene yarns Daphne (merino and silk and it's the softest shiniest yarn I've ever used!), and Ms Phillipon (50% merino 50% cotton).
i'd love to see a video talking about different brands of mohair you've tried and compare them. as a fairly new knitter i just went for drops because it's so talked about but would love to branch out
I really like Sandnes Garn Tynn Line for a summer project, it also has a sheen ❤

Melody- very light, verrry warm and I enjoy wearing it but it shrinks after blocking! Would live to learn how to prevent it.
