I just purchased one of these during the Black Friday sale and received it today. I’m headed to my ranch tomorrow to do some work, and am taking it with me. It’s extremely dark where I’m going and it’s far away from civilization. This should be some fun testing! Thanks for the review and instructions on the features!
@@ExelArts it’s an awesome light. My truck headlights aren’t even as bright as this light. The cows hate it and I feel bad for them, but so the the coyotes. Its awesome though! I would buy it again.
I took delivery of my Marauder 2 yesterday , put it on charge and waited for nightfall. It reminded me of the scene in Dirty Harry where Clint Eastwood chases Scorpio on to the dark football field and then Fatso turns on the floodlights. This torch is awesome and looks great too. As for the square focus beam , i like it , it is much better than it comes across on the videos.
I looked at possibly buying this but found the Marauder Mini instead. For me 7000 Lumens is plenty light for around where I live. I have the Imalant 100,000 lumen flashlight and it's way too much Lumens as well as bulky. I was looking for a pocket or small size flashlight that had both spot and flood yet not overkill and Olight came through. Not saying to not buy the Marauder 2 but consider what you will use it for and if you want a mid size bulky flashlight. My only dislike about Olight is they send you very short magnetic charging cables. My Mini came in today so I am waiting for it to get dark and play around with it.
They may be better output but i hear some bad stories about them. They’re annoying with the fan and very dangerous. Olight and other brands but safety, UI, and innovation first and i think that is better tbh.
I was sold until I saw the square spotlight. Recently purchased the Marauder mini and really have enjoyed it. Olight has baffled me on as why they would do this.
Great review! Thanks but of all you tested, what flashlight would you recommend with a great combo of throw and flood about 5 to 10,000 lumens and with long runtime on turbo mode? :)
Quote from Kent Survival Gear & Review: "If you hear a chainsaw in the background just ignore it". Dude, FYI, if I am alone in the woods doing a flashlight review and I hear a chainsaw, I'm packing up and getting the hell out of there....Just saying...............
Just ordered the bundle with their new survival pen with light...had to get it since i have the bigger brother already the XR9 25000lm love the technical features. Liked Your review.
This should come with a better holder/holster, a HARD CASE like some lesser Olights do and an upgraded warranty.. Especially with that "special internal" special proprietary battery.
That square on spot it terrible always thought if it was a square it was a cheap light. I will pass on this olight. Glad that I saw this review before I pulled the plug. Flood however looks amazing. Great review on your part though. Have a great day
Wow !!!! hear something in the brushes and blind it while you see it at the same time. Then be night blind for a long time till your eyes readjust to the dark.
as a owner of Marauder x7 (not x7R) I can't justify the price and i can't justify the spec besides it having cool spotlight feature. I did thorough comparison and the battery lasts on depending on similar lumens it's barely1.2 to 1.1x times longer than my x7 so basically Marauder 2 is not that much a big improvement.. Having said that.. I do wished they made the size bigger (i don't really care about the form factor and portability if i'm carrying these style of flashlights) so that instead of three 5000mah lithium cells, but four or five 5000mah cells so its like 20000mah ~ 25000mah cells making it almost 2~2.5X times longer duration that old predecessors . just my 2 cents..
@@kentsurvivalgearreview586 okay great. Think I prefer the smaller one you have for weight, also don’t tend to need to much power on the head torch. Will have a think and purchase tonight in the sale. I don’t fancy strapping this marauder to my head though 😂
@@thebikepackingadventurer It feels good. Heavier than a lot of head torches, but a lot brighter and tougher. It really depends what you are using it for. If it's for long distance hiking, maybe look elsewhere. But for camping, it's great.
Obviously this is a "Search & Rescue" light. For people with boats or work on a boat. Helicopter S&R....not for the average "flashlight nerd" :)) ...LOL!! Has a lanyard ..as if any one is going to have it hanging from their hip. :))
Certain molecules in one layer of the cuticle, the tough but somewhat flexible part of a scorpion's exoskeleton, absorb the longer wavelengths of ultraviolet light and emit it in different wavelengths that are visible at night as a blue-green glow.
Well may be not after it's been on turbo for any length of time but with it's fetchers I'm considering it a forty five watt hour power bank having a very powerful beacon .
The cable is quite long, and you'd probably carry a "portable one".. along with that BEAST of a floodlight you mean? :D I think the cable's the least of your worries as far as carrying size goes ;) It is an absolute beast, I'd probably look into one if I was able to make it into the forest at night at all, in most of the forests around me it's not even legal to enter between sunset and sunrise, so I think my few smaller lights (still like 200 meter range on my main one) will do just fine for now. :)
For the price I was disappointed. Beam wasn’t as powerful as described especially when on the water especially looking reflective buoys and flood wasn’t as impressive on the videos. There must be other flashlights with the same performance for much cheaper
Its not all about the lumens , i looked at the equivelent Fenix lights and they are so bright that the washout is like looking at the Sun and is just plain uncomfortable.
Still, to this day, on Amazon, is damn near $300! wow.

Hey i like the look of it but why is the spotlight a square shape when the lights on instead of a circle?.
Just asking as I've never seen that before.
I have one, I think the spot beam goes through an aspherical lens so it basically projects the light in the form of the square led chip.
Olight may not compete with imalent or acebeam in output, but their interface is the best as well as the design!
Are the two brands you mentioned much better? I’m in the market looking for a really bright flashlight

Quick question is the light a yellowish light or cool white because from the video it kinda looks yellow but it my just be the camera
Its weird it doesnt come with a holster. I have the baldr, which is a quarter the price and it still came with one
