If only I could get out in the woods this often. Just went on my first camping trip in years to go watch the solar eclipse, and I felt a mountain of stress lifted off
Thanks for naming the products you used. Sometimes a person will have a product and never mention the name. Searching for the product becomes a nightmare!!!
I bought the large pit a few years ago - also the tray. LOVE it! Many campgrounds it fits inside the camp fire pit which is great for 2 reasons… You can cook on this without worrying about the “muck” in the existing pit and it gets the fire up higher so you can feel the heat. The tray is great for places where you don’t want hot ash spilling out.
Not weird at all! Andy is the best! And his video and editing skills are second to none. Word on the street is he's the modern day Ray Mears. God bless you all ♥️🙏🏼
Time for cooking dinner has just been cut in half. That new pit is massive compared to the small one. Always great to see your reviews Andy! Thanks for all you do.
I got one of these about 3 years ago and love it. They didn’t offer a storage bag for it at the time and I had my local auto upholstery shop make one. I also got the stand that goes under the fire pit. I can use it on my wooden deck and the deck doesn’t get hot at all. A great design and well made. Packs down to about an inch and a quarter thick.
Good on you for reviewing the XL even though the stingys didn't sponsor it for you. Happy you finally got it, I love your videos as well. Every time you get your axe out it makes me want to go buy one and start chopping wood, lol. I live in a very wooded area in South Carolina, USA. Love your reviews keep up the excellent work. 👍❤️
Thanks for purchasing and reviewing the XL . Been considering it for some time but couldn’t really visualise how much larger it is to the Large . Will be definitely getting the XL
I bought the XL a couple of years ago, thanks to Andy’s advice! I absolutely love the XL!! I even bought the pedestal that’s also available for the XL and it makes it even better!! Thanks for the advice, Andy!!
Been waiting for the day that you'd get the larger version haha 😅 I'd be on the fence about splashing out on it as well, but it seems like an excellent buy that will make your delicious cooking much easier 👌🏻
👏👏Fantastic bit of kit Andy - wow, what a beast of a stove!! Bet you're gonna put that through it's paces while Overlanding. Loving your recent video reviews, they add depth and your own slant on how things work for you. Great to see Andy, thank you.
Happy Easter 🐣 Love the larger XL. Now I can't wait to get back to camping, having a little bit of health issues by the end of next month I should be good. Love your videos always put a smile on my face no matter how much pain I'm in. ❤ You asked for ideas for your next tent adventure, plastic wrap. Take plenty of plastic wrap and wrap around a couple of trees and a flat bed then walls and a roof. I hope you like it have fun until your next adventure ❤
I was just watching a video last night when you said you couldn't justify paying the price for the bigger one I think it was the one with the rotisserie chicken that fell so I take it you caved in and got it 😂 well enjoy and looking forward to the delicious meals you are going to make on it
I made the descision 2 years ago to buy the xl and never looked back. They are a little heavy but great wuality. You won’t regret finally buying it Andy 👍 I am going to get a stainless cover for mine like an open box to divert the heat but it will be a removable cover 👍
Hi Andy. As much as you used the large, I think it was a great investment to go to the extra large. Awesome video as usual!! Thanks for all of your hard work making these videos!!
I certainly don't have a need for one of those as I have a back yard fire pit, but that looks like a REALLY good bit of kit. If I were camping often, I would want one.
Hi Andy... Not sure if you have considered this , wrapping sliced potato in some alfoil with some butter or oil. Fold alfoil to seal like a flat pack and place over grill plate. You can also cook cabbage, pumpkin, carrots etc this way. Double the layer of foil for durability. Love Your channel. Greetings from Australia.
Hi there, I am a relatively new subscriber, I have been loving catching up on your past videos, I was wondering I was given a gift at Christmas of a camping stove, but this one runs on bioethanol, and I am really surprised at how good it is, takes a minute to get going but once going it's very good, I think they are made in Finland or Norway or somewhere, let me know if you want me to put the name of them in here. I don't sell them or out just thought I would see if you had heard of them. Take care.
Thanks Andy great video it was good to see them side by side I was thinking I will only need the large but it makes perfect sense to have the space to move the fire and adjust temperature by moving coals underneath. And what else am I going to spend a hundred quid on!! Great work thanks
I'm in the U.S. Amazon does have some really cheap options to choose from. Many just don't look safe to use. The price for that Winnerwell XL is not that bad. I'm considering buying one to replace my fire pit in the back yard. Folds away easy and has a cooking grate.
Thank goodness 😊 I was wondering how long you were going to hold out before splurging on the larger model fire pit and how long I was going to have to listen to you talk about how you should have just gotten the larger fire pit in the first place. Okay I have my popcorn ready along with my hot chocolate. My window is wide open and my bed is setup like like I am in a tent minus the sleeping bag and waterproofing. I don't have a fire but I have a display fire going so I am all set. I can't wait to see the difference since I have been hearing about it for so long. 😅
I like this video and the extra large firepit... the folding down ability could suck me in... but I have a car camping sized firepit (the Ranger from Solo Stoves)... and the cooking accessories for it... I mostly use it for yard cooking, my level of camping... I have a couple other cooking options... most not very mobile... your demo has gotten me interested in seeing what the price is... but I doubt I can justify one... but it looks well done. I tried to look at prices... is US they're empty... in UK a lot is out of stock, a tussle to get Alexa to convert 168 pounds to 204 dollars... since a lot of items are out of stock... I would guess 350 to 500 dollars for the size XL kit I could be interested in... not all that much different from the prices of Solo Stoves that I have bought... but unless they're channeling sales to resellers or Amazon shop... I probably won't look any further.... they are an interesting product...
After watching this I went to Winnerwell’s worldwide site link in the description and they’re charging more than double what certain Australian retailers are for the same Winnerwell XL, all because of shipping. €168 and €253 shipping(at today’s exchange rate), but I can get it for $AUD290+$31(€194 all up) here. It pays to look for a local retailer. Looks like a great firepit though, and though it’s not cheap it looks like it’s worth it! Just not bought directly from the other side of the world…
Glad you treated yourself and Winnerwell should have at least have given you some discount or something for the amount of times you speak of the fire pit as you use it a lot and how many followers do you Inspire? Anyway, you deserve it either way ❤
Andy you seen the Ad for the Reactive Outdoor Tent thats on internet, Erects up in 3 Seconds , shows a Video of it ...thought info might be of some use if not Seen it Bud 👍
Do you have to have a pair of gloves on when you take the other half of the grill off or how do you put the wood in it when you got both halves on top of it
Hi, I know you haven’t posted a lot of videos on this channel lately. Just wondering whether you consider doing a review on the Highlander rucksack that you use. very interesting getting one. just getting started into Bushcraft. So I don’t wanna waste money on equipment there is not up to the task. Your help would be much appreciated kind regards, Eugene
Been curious about how warping affects these...i have held off purchasing a 3mm steel slotting pit but I feel this design would still allow perfect use. Thoughts?
Would either the large or XL hold your dutch oven? I want a dutch oven after watching some of your older Outdoor Kitchen Vids but I can't really afford the XL. Thanks!!
Nothing like this on the market? Have you checked out the Snow Peak Takibi? It’s been around for many years. I’d say it’s also better for grilling since it’s height adjustable.. but unfortunately, definitely more costly.
I’m not even sure which size I have but I always wish there was more room, it’s perfect for just a pit but for food I wish there was more grilling space
Always a calming and cheery soul-thanks for popping in today!
Haven't camped out in years but watching these videos makes me want to get back into it
I bought the large pit a few years ago - also the tray. LOVE it!

YAY! I'm so happy for you! You FINALLY got the upgrade! 😊 Love, love, love your videos.
I’ve only just found this channel I’m not interested in camping (perhaps I should give it a go) but is it weird that I find Andy so relaxing 😂
Same here. Calming. No daft screaming in the middle of the night cause a fox moves 😆
Not weird at all! Andy is the best! And his video and editing skills are second to none. Word on the street is he's the modern day Ray Mears. God bless you all ♥️🙏🏼
I love it!
Now you can cook more meals and we can all be joining you! Lol
Yep!! Cuppas for 10!
With the amount of food you cook and eat, you needed this Andy. 😃
There's me happy and content with my little bushbox Ti, then I watch this!
Awesome and outstanding as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Hog roast alert! That's a real cooking inferno, Andy. Thanks for the direct comparison with the smaller version.
Watching your show.I learned a lot about new campaign equipment and ideas. What to cook love you show
Happy Easter Andy another excellent relaxing video to watch. You are always so cheerful and smiley and make a pleasure to watch thank you for your time

Thank you for comparing the large and the XL. Very helpful.
I bought the XL a couple of years ago, thanks to Andy’s advice! I absolutely love the XL!! I even bought the pedestal that’s also available for the XL and it makes it even better!! Thanks for the advice, Andy!!
I liked that little pew pew at the end. 😅
Great bit of kit Andy 👍 I have a smaller version years now and love , such an easy clean up as well 👌
Been waiting for the day that you'd get the larger version haha 😅 I'd be on the fence about splashing out on it as well, but it seems like an excellent buy that will make your delicious cooking much easier 👌🏻
Happy Easter to my favorite bushcraft master! You’ll always be my go-to camper!

Alway a delight to see your posts 👍🌱🎉😊🌼

Thanks for the recommendation. We need this and like u say it can be used anywhere. No scorched tree roots 😊 Well worth it.
Started off by watching a load of your camping videos and have now subscribed to this channel as well. Brilliant content Andy 👍
Lol I was waiting for this video 😂 wow its so big! Love it! Happy Easter
Thank you ! Your closing made me laugh out loud . Appreciate you !
I made the descision 2 years ago to buy the xl and never looked back. They are a little heavy but great wuality. You won’t regret finally buying it Andy 👍

Hi Andy. As much as you used the large, I think it was a great investment to go to the extra large. Awesome video as usual!! Thanks for all of your hard work making these videos!!
Great review and a very nice piece of gear. That's got to be one sharp hatchet also fast fire starting, good job.
Really nice and fancy stuff. But if you can't afford those things just make a fire pit the old fashioned way. It works just as well. 😉👍💯
How much does the large one cost
In many places the old fashion ones are completely illegal because of forest fires. Big huge fines.
I certainly don't have a need for one of those as I have a back yard fire pit, but that looks like a REALLY good bit of kit. If I were camping often, I would want one.
That's one massive beauty. ❤

Allsorts makes a fire pit!!! Wow things you never knew 😲
I got one of these last week. Thanks for the review
Very lovely and warming 🔥
Great stove mate very impressive !
Looks like it'll be suckling pig, and roast ox time soon with that one Andy...what a belter.😁👍😁
.....it seems this camping lark, is not cheap now.
As a kid, I remember camping was a cheap holiday.
I love these videos though.😎☯️
Thanks for the review Andy, I have been using the Petromax Atago Firepit for about 3 years while are also in my opinion great.

I don't sell them or out just thought I would see if you had heard of them.
Take care.
Thinking about getting one of these for my wild camp in May in Swaledale.
A worthy new investment. The Large version looks like a toy compared to the XL. Looking forward to seeing this on a future camping video.
Thanks Andy great video it was good to see them side by side I was thinking I will only need the large but it makes perfect sense to have the space to move the fire and adjust temperature by moving coals underneath. And what else am I going to spend a hundred quid on!!
Great work thanks
With the cooking you do that's a great investment. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. A wee Sunday roast? Yorkies in a Dutch oven? 💪🔥👍
I just bought it. And is bigger in person. This is a keeper. Thank you.
Fantastic I’m going to get one
pew pew , great bit of review
Thanks Andy! I’m looking for a portable fire pit 👍
Great video
Happy Easter Andy
Ah Andy, I see Christmas came early for you lol xxx🎉❤🎉😂😂😂

Great video, and a great bit of kit, but holy moly, you have to buy each component separately that's a ridiculous amount of money 😮
Nice review!! 🙌🙌
That's a big boy!
gave up hope on winnerwell sending you a free one
Omfgg Andy, that is a BEAST of fire pit 🔥 . You could roast half a dozen chicken on that, with anough room to do veggies as well 😋
Brilliant, I'll have to see if I can find one here in Sydney
Tent world at Punchbowl.
I like this video and the extra large firepit... the folding down ability could suck me in... but I have a car camping sized firepit (the Ranger from Solo Stoves)... and the cooking accessories for it... Awesome Andy! 😍 Thata a beast! I do wish you said the price in the video through

Looks like a great firepit though, and though it’s not cheap it looks like it’s worth it! Just not bought directly from the other side of the world…
I would love to know where he gets his wooden utensils from, like the plates and his mug that he normally uses for tea.
Glad you treated yourself and Winnerwell should have at least have given you some discount or something for the amount of times you speak of the fire pit as you use it a lot and how many followers do you Inspire? Anyway, you deserve it either way ❤
The huge kettle made me laugh in a Gullivers Travels kinda way
LETS GOOOOOOO
Snow peak make something similar and it has an adjustable grill platform, eye watering price though.
Now that's a fire pit! Be good for a group camp.
That’s not a fire pit it’s a bonfire ❤😂
What oil are you using on your steaks and frying the eggs in?
Very cool fire pit/grill!! The XL definitely looks more useful. Excellent video!
Andy you seen the Ad for the Reactive Outdoor Tent thats on internet, Erects up in 3 Seconds , shows a Video of it ...thought info might be of some use if not Seen it Bud 👍
XL Sized Flat Fire-pit
£176.99
Decent price if you ask me..
Glamptastic!!!
This would be good to use in your backyard. Easy to store so you don’t have something in your way all the time.
Cool
I'd be scared to use it and make it dirty and it does look nice, happy Easter.
Your help would be much appreciated kind regards, Eugene
wow
That kettles big even for you.
Any concern with embers and ash falling out the side holes of the pits onto the ground? Maybe a fireproof pad underneath to make sure you catch those?
Looks a great bit of kit but you wasent wrong with saying it’s expensive 😮
What about the log cabin!
Will that grate hold a Dutch oven?
get a 5 or 6 gallon metal paint bucket. drill/grind breathing holes.
a perfect fireplace that self-feeds.
Been curious about how warping affects these...i have held off purchasing a 3mm steel slotting pit but I feel this design would still allow perfect use. Thoughts?
What’s the heat escape like underneath? Would this be suitable for decking in the garden?
Nope... Coals and ash fall out. A baking tray underneath would probably work
The XL does seem to be the more practical size for anything more than hotdogs and marshmallows...or for atmosphere in camp.
Would either the large or XL hold your dutch oven? I want a dutch oven after watching some of your older Outdoor Kitchen Vids but I can't really afford the XL. Thanks!!
Just wondering, what wood were you using?
Nothing like this on the market? Have you checked out the Snow Peak Takibi? It’s been around for many years. I’d say it’s also better for grilling since it’s height adjustable.. but unfortunately, definitely more costly.
I’m not even sure which size I have but I always wish there was more room, it’s perfect for just a pit but for food I wish there was more grilling space
Idlily curious if you were going to ever get a bigger one. I have my answer.
