The old ELS 501 SD40-2 trailing the emd former Bnsf SD40-2 on this cold morning hauling steadily in county O great video and one of these days that pole will be fixed 😂😂when it comes down.
Always a nice scene on that gentle curve is the late afternoon sun shines upon a train that hopefully wi'll make it to Green Bay. One can tell by the footprints that Jason checked upon the Shrine of the Broken Pole. So far so good it's maintaining the pace and best yet it's still upright on the rails
Now why in the world when y'all have all dem good trains to watch down in st tammany would ya be watching a train from way up in Michigan?😂😂 Says someone who has the CPKC & UP to watch up in Bossier Parish😂😂😂
@ We have all of the 7 major class one Railroads coming into the New Orleans area. I literally spent my whole life around and or running trains. Retired UP Road Engineer, and I’m a 4 th generation Engineer. For a little over a year I did run out of and into Shreveport and Monroe down to Livonia. I’m mostly running Standard Gauge Steam Locomotives and only occasionally a diesel these days. I still do both Railroad and Aviation operations consulting work. Only once in a while I will watch a video from Jaw Tooth, Distant signal, Jason, WWOT, and a couple others, just for the hell of it. I’m not a railfan. With all 7 of them within less than 10 minutes to 45 minutes from my home I have never gone out to just watch a train. Except I did go out to help when UP brought the Big Boy and 844 to New Orleans. I did chase both of them to Addis to get some good run bys for myself and friends.
Yeah Broken Pole Crossing.. Quite the long Train. I wonder if California would allow Smart Siding for all the new homes that will need to be rebuilt.. Yup, counted all 64 of them..
Flashing ditch lights add complications to the electrical circuitry, which adds to places where they can fail. The FRA doesn't require flashing ditch lights. But if the relay that operates th flashing circuit fails after the engine has left its original terminal, it may run for the rest of the day, but must be repaired before operating the next day.
Saw "broken pole crossing " and knew it was county O time!
Our favorite broken pole sight 😂😂😂😂!!!!
If all that siding is fire resistant it’s going to be real popular in LA.
Awesomeness, thanks for sharing!
Oh, those Mega log cars!❤
I'm glad to see that ELS is running smoothly
Nice job great video thanks Jason

The pole won't come down. The termites in the two pieces are holding hands!
@erie910 Well good to know that
Cool to see a nice long train.
Good afternoon enjoy that video👍👍
Another awesome video Jason, stay safe and warm much love from Seattle Washington ❤😊

Thanks. Jason really enjoy your video
Hello Jason Asselin:
1:16
Those cars appear to be freakishly long.
At broken pole crossing super long train with a green freddy on the last car thanks Jason !!!
Always good, Jason! You have about as much snow as we have in the Thumb.
good train video
2 locomotives and 64 rail cars including 2 Mega-Haulers!
They were hauling the mail so to speak. Actually, lots of smart siding.
Ahh, thanks; I was wondering.
They should have had 502 bring up the end. That was big load and quite a pull for 501 and 503.
Good morning I enjoy that video👍👍
I bet all the finished lumber is headed to, Florida, they can't stop building down here👍
Very nice video ,greetings 👍🚂
Beautiful ❤️
Its about 5° here in east central Wis. My guess is its a bit colder by you. Stay warm while catching those awesome vids! 🥶👍🇺🇲
Saw u pop up in one of Jaws videos 😂 … “but wait” …
Seems like a lot of speed for a railroad that derails quite often !
Good morning from St Tammany Parish, LA, 13 Jan 25. I counted 65 cars and compartments.
Now why in the world when y'all have all dem good trains to watch down in st tammany would ya be watching a train from way up in Michigan?😂😂 Says someone who has the CPKC & UP to watch up in Bossier Parish😂😂😂

Does ELS have any other hidden gems like 1221 that could come out and work if needed?
Did they leave anything in the yard?
Hey Jason, cold in the desert lat night 25. Brrr
Yeah Broken Pole Crossing.. Quite the long Train. I wonder if California would allow Smart Siding for all the new homes that will need to be rebuilt.. Yup, counted all 64 of them..
Jason, I counted 64 cars. In terms of weight, I would say 2350 tons, without the locomotives. Greetings from Cold Berlin. Sven
Longest train ever for ELS..
Is 501 the only locomotive they have with flashing ditch lights?

Is that a bunch of lumber plastic wrapped? I'm curious as to the destination?
That's a pretty good size train for E&LS.
That's the LP brand smart siding yes it's a lumber product of sorts just not boards or plywood or such
@@jonathonruple3297 I believe it is "OSB" house siding. That is why they need the tank cars to make up the glue to hold the OSD together.
That's a lot of siding
I didnt hear the MEGA LOG HAULER
Back down to two engines
65 cars 2 engine
the same sequence once again ????
I counted 65.
19 cars of board feet
Looks like the RR is just shuffling cars back and forth just to look busy for car count.
Counted 64 cars
Too busy checking out the graffiti to count.....
no school so im first
Jason what's good my guy? 🫡
