Another great looking video. Crisp images. Steady shots. Very nice. Following the ELS is turning into a drama…tune in next time to see what happens! Must see tv.
Re: Radio: adjust your skelch if you have it. Yes, digital scanners arebavailable that do unencypt trucked transmissions. They are in the $750+ price range.
I believe that all trains are required to perform a brake test before they enter the mainline after doing switching maneuvers. On tanker cars they can just look to see if the brake cylinders are extended or retracting like they should. The design of tanker cars the brake gear is easily visible.
Bud, ETD works and has a digital read out of the air pressure in the last car, its up to the crew members to comply, road test ( apply and release ) are FRA mandatory ….
In a previous video I asked if these guys perform an air brake test on their train before leaving each pickup &, or setout point. This requires a walking inspection of the setup and the release of the brake cylinders. The telemetry device does not relieve you of the walking inspection. I haven't observed any of these crews of performing such a test.
Jason, I’m not an expert but I’m reasonably certain that that buzzing and crackling you hear is from a digital transmission instead of analog because here in Vermont when I try listening to any of the police cause they are scrambled so all I hear is that buzzing. The police went digital because a lot of people who may be breaking into a place would have someone at home, listening to a scanner and send them text messages to let them know if the police are on the way or not and this is the way they stop that because you can’t hear what the police are actually saying. I don’t think there’s any kind of police scanner that would pick up digital because they are specific to a particular agency on that frequency it’s a specific device on the transmitter and receiver
The P5 horn on 1221 is absolutely a thing of beauty to hear.
@@brianwilson7314 I call it the Rock Island horn. In fact, I that horn a lot when I was little.
Until watching your vids, I never realized how much time was spent in switching!! Thanks for schooling me!
It's a long, drawn-out process.
Keeping the wheels turning and the economy running..cool catch Jason 😎👍
Looks like business is picking up for ELS. Glad to see!
Yeah, it's been a busy week for them.
Your right that is what she said 😂that's a big load right there 😉of tankers. Yea luckily that's a mechanical issue and not the DR word.
Thanks again for another amazing video Jason. You da man👍
You're welcome! It was a busy day in Pembine.
Great video
Glad you liked it!

Like I've said before, good to see the old iron work horse out earning revenue. BTW, great video as always.
Excellent work Jason , must be a record for tanker cars 🎉😊
It is!
One busy railroad.
I Love it! Thanks for sharing!

Nice video with the switching.
Yeah, it was a tough one. I've got more of this switching in the next video.
Good morning I enjoy the video👍👍

"fly a drone" thought that was Homeless Drunk Drone Guys job? :P
They really should rebuilt the motor of 1222 and have that for service also
I've never seen them perform an air test during operations. Does this shortline not require them?

every time. FRED wouldn't work if they didn't do it.

people that cross in front of the train should be called Darwin's...lol
That car almost bought it. What an idiot and they have a headlight out too.
U can only change their minds one kar at a time...
Is 1221 former SP lineage?
Came from Reserve Mining.

That extra racket in your radio is somebody way off. Turn you squelch knob to the right until that noise stops.
Pretty sure nobody was coming there.
Who? Huh?
That was when the tank cars were blocking the crossing.
I know they have to signal at every crossing, if allowed, it just seemed silly.
Sounds like a keyed mic. Maybe one of the conductors has a defective handset? Might not be you at all.
I was wondering that myself. Maybe it was a bad connection somewhere.
Pembine Pembine PEMBINE…
What are the chances we will see 1221 off the tracks ?!?
that is what she said jk
Sorry to say Jason, but stupid is everywhere…..🤔
Don't Worry Kids Nowadays probably talk worse than you think
All that salt! Yuck! That just destroys vehicles!
