@Dinesh M I might have been a bit more careful but if I didn't I don't think anyone will be able to misuse a name dob and palce of birth.. Some document numbers yeah.. They may.. But not what was shown in there
Well thank you for your message. Truthfully having experienced it myself, it all depends the person who assesses your application and what mood they are in. I went through a lot of trouble to get a lot of documents and there were never checked which was a waste of exercise. Anyhow the most important part of this is if you can have more than you need on your documents you're able to hopefully get it
OCI Card fees in the UK. The total cost to get an OCI card in the UK is £201.44. The amount includes OCI application fees of£194 and another £7.44 for VFS Service Fee. You can pay the OCI fees using Cash, Debit Card or via Postal Order or Bank Draft payable to “VF Services UK Ltd.”
OCI has a lifetime value. The passport has a OCI sticker which also is lifetime. You can carry your expired passport with you and your OCI card you will have no problems, otherwise you will need to pay the embassy to transfer the sticker from expired passport to new passport which to me is a waste of money. to my understanding you don't even need to take that old passport or the sticker inside it as the OCI book works on its own on arrival. Hope that helps
Hi there, thank you for your questions. You can apply if your mom is an Indian citizen as that proves you are of Indian descent. I don't see any reason why you couldn't apply while in the Marine Corp as you are not giving up your US citizenship. It's a Port of Entry card for India. Good luck.
To my understanding you have to process this. 1: if your wife is you can have the application supporting through her. 2: alternatively if is born in India and has a birth certificate he can also obtain it through himself. Hope that helps and good luck
You need your spouse's details for your OCI application but these will NOT be seen in your passport. I know it's stressful but would get through it and then it's done. Good luck.
I don't understand why you are worried about the address. People moves very often different countries, different towns, different cities. It is a record purposes only... You can always go online and update your file, but there is no need. Again congratulations on getting the OCI I'm glad my video was able to give you some help.
I dont think you have to re-new OCI with the new passport. I travelled with my old passport where "lifetime" visa is stuck on...and the new passport and the OCI. But the immigration in India only looked at my new passport and the OCI. They did not ask my old passport two or three times I travelled
@Dinesh M . I never had to renew my OCI when my European passport was renewed. I travel every year to India with my OCI & my new Passport without problems. Only time we have to renew OCI is when we turn 50 years, with the latest photo.
@Dinesh M . That is such a pity! I was then lucky that nobody wanted to see a new OCI, with my new passport. I have passed through Mumbai & once Delhi as well, by God's grace... without problems
Hello. I have a question. I don't think you know the answer to it but I have no one else to ask and google makes no sense. Can I apply for OCI if my mom was an Indian citizen? and can I apply while I am serving in the U.S marine corp? Because I never heard of anyone applying for OCI while in the American Military.
Morgan Alvarez as long as he has not resided in Bangladesh and Pakistan yes. I’m in the same boat. Indian passport process is very taxing though, I had to return 3x for my sister’s OCI as they kept rejecting it yet I fully complied with their requests.
My understanding you are entitled to a OCI as you are both born in India with a different nationality. You would need to follow their website for OCI passport.gov.in/oci/ Hope this helps you
All you will need is a birth certificate if you was born in India this will be document you need. If you can prove your grandparents are genuine( in other words ) your parents passport would have your grandparents is names in it. Thanks.
parm bansal This is not entirely correct. Yes a birth certificate is a sure fire way. Just because you have grandparents passports that won’t be enough. You need to categorically prove a link. Not all passports have child’s name in them. Especially those that are nri and need to prove the family link. Birth certificate and also surrender certificate are crucial.
No dual citizenship is no an option. When you get dual citizenship then you stand for election. So if an Indian live all his life outside of india and came here and stand for election it is just madness.
Hello #parm bansal, I am a foreigner my wife is Indian and although our son was born in India, he is currently holding a foreign passport, is the son eligible to obtain OCI? and if it is possible, can I apply it at the embassy or must I be in India at the time of applying?
Hi sir finally I got it for my wife oci card but thing sir I apply in Kuwait There mention in oci card address in Kuwait address I have one small confused why not mention my home India address sir just tell me sir pley
Hi. Please share what proof of residence is needed in case of my grandparents being from India. I was born in India but brought to South Africa while still an infant so I don’t have any Indian passport to hand over. Will there be any complications if I don’t have an Indian passport to surrender? Also, I’ll be showing my grandparents address in India as proof of having Indian roots so I need to know which documents would be needed for that. Thank you.
I asked VFS about oci renewal. They don't say anything directly just sent me information from website. *I have oci that linked with my old EU passport and now I got a new british passport.* *Do I need to link it with my new passport or it's okay to carry my old passport while travelling?*
With sequence with this passport. After renewing his British passport. He carried the expired passport along with the OCI, upon arrival in India there was no questions and he has done several times. I'm not telling you what to do but just as we too had trouble finding out. Thx good luck
@@parmbansal1 thanks for reply but now all sorted out... now they sent me an official letter and mentioned everything in it clearly... so now we don't need to renew OCI but this rule is not for all. It depends on age... (if your new passport issue before age 20 or after 50 then you must renew your OCI)
Hi In my case I'm processing my oci through my spouse as she is Indian. When the time I submit all documents Does it's mandatory to include my Indian spouse name in my passport as well. Can you please help me in this. Thanks much
Hi please clarify this child born in Canada for Indian parents who have PR obviously the child got Canadian citizenship but he wants his child to spend years with his grandparents, so to live in India, for more than a year what we need to do. Do we want apply for any separate card like OCI or any thing else. If so kindly send the link to follow confused greatly
Hi Sathish. Sorry for the late reply. It is quite simple. Your little child can obtain a visa or apply for OCI which he or she will get through the parents ( this can take 2 months) however it is lifelong. Also please be aware both parents need to have a consent letter allowing grandparents to take the child away for one year which may be an immigration issue. I hope this helps and you're able to navigate through to your destination

babu reddypogula if you have an OCI in Kuwait then no problems. The address doesn’t matter or pay a fee to get it change. It does not matter, you are still aloud to stay in India for life.
Sir i want to marry in Pakistan and I my wife can't come in India for many years that's y i have to take citizenship of Pakistan then I want to come back because my family and property is here . Oci could be possible for me and my wife?...
Yes you can. I've flown into Amritsar airport 2 months ago with my Oci and no issues with it.
parm bansal do you need to carry your other passport or just present OCI?
Dude I think you should blur out the details on the card.... U never know how it could be misused
I don't think there was any sensitive Info there.. Basic info of palce of birth and dob, nationality etc.. Even the oci number was also not seen
@Dinesh M I might have been a bit more careful but if I didn't I don't think anyone will be able to misuse a name dob and palce of birth.. Some document numbers yeah.. They may.. But not what was shown in there

It is life Long however after 10 or 15 years you need to update the photo.
you can track it all online the process how it is going for yourself.
What if am not Indian citizen but I stayed for more than 4 year
Hi I'm sorry to hear this. I think the person has to be alive to process a OCI for a spouse. But do please check with them
Brother I just want to know what documents do I need to collect to make my wife oci cards, which website should I use ?
bro, just go to your local Indian embassy website ( the country out of India where you live in). Just google and you will find all info.
