I bought my Mk7 Golf R new in late 2015 (It's a 2016). I added an APR Stage 1 tune right away, then went Stage 2 in late 2017. Mine is also a manual which predictably had to be upgraded with my Stage 2. Sunroofs aren't available in the US but I didn't really want one anyway. The heavy Stage 3 clutch took some getting used to initially, but I prefer the more substantial feel of it. As a lifelong exclusive manual transmission driver, I never really understood others' complaints about driving in heavy traffic because driving a manual is just second nature for me regardless of driving conditions. Being several years into retirement hasn't changed my mind one iota as I would still rather drive manual in any traffic situation.

Same here. My dad taught me to drive manual at14yrs old I believe. Owned a brand new 2004 golf manual. Until I moved to Texas. Owned the car for 18 years. Never let me down. Gave it to my cousin. It had 198,000 miles. And the motor is still strong as hell.
