I was just watching this video and seen the recommendation for a loba fuel pump. I just ordered one this second as in a few days I want to go stage 3. Nice to see the recommendation.
@@VeeDubRacing I went Littco stage 3. The only thing I was missing was a cat back to be full stage 3. It arrived over the weekend and I will have it fitted and retuned at some point and will hopefully be around 500hp.
@@VeeDubRacing I've been enjoying it, It kicks in strong around 4k and has a higher redline now. That helps in Germany as I've now got a higher top speed. I got it done a few months ago but I've only drove about 1.5k Miles since. Mine is a manual but I will convert it to an RS3 gearbox in march of next year so I can hit over 300kph, that's about 186mph. I haven't noticed much lag at all but I've been conscious of what gear I'm in.
Just coming back to this video, I’ve been dealing with other builders & tuners with my 7R atm, hearing a lot of bad press about MRC, dodgy maps with too high boost which is killing engines and that they’re adding work and parts to final bills to get more money out of people, what’s reminded me of this video is you absolutely did not need an upgraded HPFP for stage 2 or even a mild stage 3! The 7R has MPI so 8 injectors rather than the USDM 7R and all 7.5R’s, this means you can run up to around 500hp with MPI cars as the HPFP doesn’t need to flow as high as it would with cars with only 4 injectors which typically will only flow to around 400hp. You’ve gone into MRC for a stage 2 map and they’ve talked you into an upgrade you really don’t need! My 7R has full miltek exhaust, DO88 intercooler, intake kit and an L450 turbo and it’s making 468hp at 1.85 bar on standard fuelling which isn’t even close to being maxed..
@liamting I guess I will never know. However, I am running less boost than it was running with the Racingline map, it drives really nice, and I am happy to have an over engined part. So no concerns from me at the moment 😎😎
My first impression was 'You don't need a HPFP for stage 2 !?!' I was pretty surprised. It's usually for stage2+ and above. I used to own an Edition30 with R-TEC Stage2+ had the LOBA HPFP everything was on the limit, desperate mods to squeeze out every last bit of usable power the turbo can offer. Anyway... I think this case was more of a preventative measure? Me personally I would've declined. When you state MPI are you referring to Indirect and direct injection? I have a 67' pre-OPF TTS with the 6speed s-tronic, so pretty sure it has 8 injectors then? What has been the total cost for your L450? You must be running a 3" exhaust? I'm looking at Stage 2 for mine but want to weigh-up all the options. Thanks. Thanks for the video! +Nice whip! @VeeDubRacing
@@bogged9820 hi mate, I’m on an L430 turbo not a 450 as I put above (wishful thinking), I bought the car stage 1 with a Miltek cat back and ram air intake already fitted, I then added a DO88 intercooler and boost pipe kit including the larger bore TMD for £900 and a milltek downpipe for £400 then went stage 2 to make 400hp and 400ft lbs, stage 2 ECU and DSG calibration was £1000. I then bought an L430 for £1400 and had that mapped in to 460hp 420ft lbs for £500. The L430 is in between a 380x and 450, closer to a 450, it had the power of a 450 but the torque of a 380x (due to mapping not the limit of the turbo itself) it is a little laggy / dead under 3k compared to stage 2. If i knew what I know now I would have gone for the L380x which would make 440hp and 420ft lbs and spools up quicker to make power and torque low down similarly to stage 2, the figures of the L380x and L430 are very similar however the torque curve on the 430 is stronger with a wider power band so it’s swings and roundabouts, if you want a more potent stage 2 feeling car the. Go for the 380x, or if you want a “big turbo” feel then go for the 430 or 450, the 450 should make 480-500 with the right supporting mods.
Some tuners are doing away with the HPFP upgrade due to reliability/reliance concerns and upgrade port injectors instead. This means the reliance on HPFP is mitigated and mapped so the larger port injectors pick up the slack.
@@42cuba I think at my level of tune it's fine. I now have the fuel being provided when it's asked for. At a higher state of tune, I don't know. The tuners would need to answer that.
@@Lpz_7R Thanks 🙏 I am over in the US filming in December. Las Vegas 😎 rear diffuser and all the bodykit is from Tripple R Composites. www.triplercomposites.com/
I asked for NO pop and bang tune to be added, as one of my Racingline maps had it, and it was the worst thing ever. So any burble is just the exhaust setup.
Thats quite a sudden slip and load cycle would have already been at 100% well before that. Seems like a tune thing? Also is there a variable valve at low rev? Seems to open something up, sounds good anyway
@VeeDubRacing I overheated my mk7r just once on a launch, quickly from vw service not filling up to the drip point. Did a service, no issues now. Got a g25 going in soon
@ARDEN340 sorry for the delay in replying. It was so busy, and I was busy filming. I never had time to have a run. I will get out on the dragy though...
I am not so sure Racingline will appreciate you callling their maps generic if the boost pipe was loose and your clutch was slipping. Also for a 2 L to be punching over 300hp is still bannanas so calling it down on power is hilarious. 401hp /298kw is 200hp/147kw per L =Koenigseg specific output.
If it came across as me having a go at Racingline, that was not intended. The map is a generic one, but would have probably made the expected power it should of, If I didn't have the issue, approx 380bhp. The clutch, however, was slipping on the old map, and the new MRC Tuning one, has fixed that. I have also gained a little more power, and some safe fueling.
@ Thank you appreciate the reply can I fit those with no mods and also are you using spacers sorry for questions I just bought a golf r and I love the fitment on yours lol
Lot of people classing stage2 as just a down pipe now days full stage2 is all 3 modifications downpipe /r600/ intercooler then it’s stage2 called stage2 plus now days ha
I thought it was always all 3. No point in mapping for more power, without the intercooler, as it will just get heat soak, and drop all the power you made.
