Hey bro I feel even worse, four years ago when to doctor because out of the blue I couldn’t use my right leg, I had been working as mainly restaurants for about 39 years in the kitchen most of the time which means freezer 10 minus zero to get frozen, walk in around 35 degrees and worst kitchen line close to 150 plus, so that did not help the situation when doctor saw the x rays, beginning I questioned why he wanted both knees and both hips , gets what he asked me how I was working in that condition, right hip destroyed, left one almost gone and both knees were shot, I had 3 surgery in a year and half right hip, left knee, right knee all replaced, no problem with the left and after a year my left hip pain I couldn’t even walk out my bed in constant pain, no sleep even worse tha😢my original problem right hip. Now I’m looking forward trying to get my life back, sorry for my long story, my reality , worked so hard now I have metal implants

Your definitely not alone when it comes to age and joints failing. I am 46 and just had my right hip replaced, and my left needs to be done as well I have had 4 knee surgeries all Orthoscopic, my right ankle which was my most painful and invasive surgery before my hip left wrist surgery. Both of my knees will probably have to be replaced within the next 5 years, my left is bone on bone since both sides of my meniscus had to be removed because they were too bad to repair. And finally my back has more bad than good parts left. The biggest thing that sucks is knowing that I will have to go through this hip replacement again on my right, the best thing about it is having a great orthopedic surgeon that knows I will feel better soon then I have in years when this is all over with. Inflammation in these major joints caused by arthritis is not good for the whole body I'm finding out. It can cause a certain type of anemia called anemia of chronic inflammation also called anemia of chronic disease it affects every bit of your well being, so although the surgeries to fix these problems suck it is well worth it in the long run. Good luck on your bionic journey hope it's gone well for you and your back to doing the things you enjoyed before.

Hey man, I just had my 2nd hip replaced 2 days ago, with the 1st only 6 weeks ago. It was a shock, since mine was from AVN, not arthritis. But either way, you’ll be right as rain in a few weeks/months. Here’s to a speedy recovery!

hey Chris, sorry to hear about what you are going through bud. Your story is inspiring and gives me great hope. I have had a herniated disk only at this stage, but seems chronic as lower back just always seems to flare up. Am doing pilates 3 times a week and staying as active as possible. I had 1 dog, and now upped it to 2! Got a little chihuahua, the mindfulness part is critical as you say. Its about 30% of it I would say. Love the videos man, real inspiration.

Hang in there man! Totally ridiculous but hard things are hard! I'm in Chennai India recuperating after my left hip high performance dual mobility hip reconstruction by the great Dr Vijay Bose at the SIMS hospital. He did my right hip 12 years ago, hip was resurfaced which has been fabulous. I was expecting when I went under that the left hip would be resurfaced as well but woke up to the news (Sept 3rd 2024) that the head of the femur couldn't be saved. I was devastated hearing this but once heard the details of the dual mobility I've come to accept it and plan to test it to it's limits with my active lifestyle. Point is man, never give up! Patch it up with duc tape if you have to and keep on truck'n. Grateful we live in a time where we can repair body parts like auto mechanics repair shocks! It hurts man, but everyday there's improvement. That feels really good. Stay strong!

So far no pain anymore but will begin external PT next week. I still can't walk without a walker...yet. Do you know if your hip issues were a result of your needing spinal fusion? Is this typical post spinal fusion? Re over compensation, are your knees doing okay? Wishing you luck and speedy recovery.

@bionic_living - kinda lost tbh. I go to pain management, and they say don't get surgey because I'm young ( i'm 36) The injections don't help then I get opinions from ortho or neurosurgeons and they say I need a fushion and for me not don't listen to pain management. At this point, I'm not sure what to do.

Have had back issues for about 40years no surgery there yet have DDD and stenosis have had therapy shots etc. After this hip is done will be looking for a spine surgeon any tips or advice??
