    Hi Chris! Thanks so much for all of these videos. I'm having the "360" in 3 days, 12/16/24. I'm feeling pretty good about having it done, and looking forward to relieving the chronic pain. I'm ready for a couple painful weeks, but hopeful for a positive outcome. You're a great person for sharing your experiences, and also very handsome! Thanks again! -Ken

    Thanks so much for your honesty and transparency. I met with my vascular surgeon today and he told me about all the "stuff" he will be moving out of the way for orthopedic surgeon. Scared me to death! But ai did make it through a c-section almost 30 years ago. Thanks for the bathroom info - best to be prepared in advance. Mostly, it's really good to see you standing there and talking about it. Way to go on your recovery. I hope mine goes as well as yours.

    I'm 2 weeks and a day Post-Op ALIF surgery. My front incision is horizontal, but they did not have to go through the back. My back bone aches really bad still but your videos help me not worry.

    Your scars look very neat. A bit scary though all those details but very helpful for someone considering ALIF or someone who will be undergoing that type of surgery in the next 48 hours like myself. That Retrograde "thing" is a sensitive aspect no matter if one has a same-gender partner or not. Thanks for sharing all this information!

    Retrograde Ejaculation is currently ruining my life after my alif surgery, it was optional to go through the back but I was horribly mislead and now paying the price

    Thanks for making these videos. I am going to have the alif next month and you gave me a heads up on what to expect. So I was told I was going to be in the hospital one night and you said you were in for five days until you used the bathroom? Also not to eat too soon? Mine is L4 L5 because the spondylothesis slip is pressing on the nerves in both legs and as a result, leg pain and cant walk much. Cant sit normally because it presses the nerves and intensifies the impingement and as a result leg spasms and pain. I have no choice, pretty much bedridden and all without any back pain. Doctor thought it was unusual. I wonder if I will have fewer issues without the plif and no rods.

      Hi Patty! Hopefully your hospital stays will be short and your recovery smooth to a pain free future. Every body responds differently.
      Sending alllllll the good vibes for you to do GREAT!!!

      I had L4/5 5/S1 fused with an ALIF. I also had a total disc replacement in L3/4. It took me three months to get over it completely. With a front approach only they often use a substance called BMP that they put in the fusion cage. It encourages bone growth and has a very high rate of fusion. Very few failures if BMP is used. The down side of BMP is that increases the chance of Retrograde in men . I hope you post how you got on Ms Patty.

    Thanks for sharing. Did you have hip issues prior to the surgery or is it a result of the fusion?

    • @bionic_living
      @bionic_living  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pablo! I had right hip issues my entire life prior to the spinal fusion. Stay well friend.

    How common is retrograde ejaculated? And what does surgeon do to not let that happen

    • @bionic_living
      @bionic_living  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is very low. 1.4% of cases. In my next video, I can provide some medical literature that confirms the rates.
      As my spine surgeon explained, the vascular or general surgeon performs delicate dissection in the front or anterior portion of the procedure down to the spine for accessing the fusion site. They will attempt to avoid injuring or irritating the nerve (possibly the gastric nerve) that allows the muscle to function to push out the semen during ejaculation.
      Again. In a future video I will use a reference to provide more clarity.
      Fortunately, I did not experience this complication. I was very blessed with my results.
      Are you suffer from spondylolisthesis?

      @@bionic_living Was it tight for a couple months? I'm 8 weeks post op. I think I might have a tear or something. It still feels so sensitive and I'm in superior shape. 2 weeks ago I banged a door really hard and it still feels pulled.

      @@vzeller yikes. Hope it’s okay. I recommend contacting the doctor to get their opinion. I am sure they have answer and plan. I also was in a brace the first 6wks… maybe up to 3 mos. It’s been so long I am having difficulties recalling.

    Damn, I had an ALIF artificial implant and I got RE. It’s been one year and still nothing. Half way through I also suffered for the first time from ED so now I’m completely nuked. Trying to remain calm but it’s depressing as hell

      Did you have a lot of inflation prior to your surgery? My specialist mentioned to me that typically it happens to patients w/ a lot of inflation which causes complications during the operation.
      I’m getting an ALIF done on 04/26/2024.

    Did you have any pain in your lower abs not on the incision but on the lower left side? I am 3 weeks post op and that area is killing me. My back feels fine, my sciatic pain is gone in my right leg but man that lower left feels like what I would assume a hernia feels like. I can only walk about 100 yards without pain and having to sit down. Thanks for any advice!

    • @bionic_living
      @bionic_living  ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on making it this far! And getting rid of the sciatic pain. I never had this left lower quadrant pain like you describe. I recommend to message the surgeon and get his eyes on it. Hopefully it just goes away without too much trouble. Keep me posted on your recovery friend. Stay strong. U got this. 👍👍

      @@bionic_living Thanks! Yeah I meet with my surgeon in about 20 days.. but might call the office. I was off all meds day one in surgery except tylenol never used the morphine pump or muscle relaxers and my surgeon let me go home the next day. But 12 days later the sciatic pain hit so bad... I was taking any and everything they gave me. So the pain from the incision or lower abs or back wasn't noticed until the sciatica stopped. (medrol pack stopped the sciatic) About to go try and walk a mile and see how it feels. Thanks and love the videos. Had no idea about the retrograde ejaculation? No one mention that to me but I have 2 kids 24 and 27 and had a vasectomy after the 2nd one in 2002, so not too worried about that but good to know that information you provided. Thanks again.
