C2 command and control is also pretty good for your ai squad control needs you can to anything from basic commands to breaching and clearing a house. It even lets you command your ai squad mates to throw grenades and gives you the opportunity to command them to flank and move on a position via waypoints also it allows you have them stack up before a breach

I just discovered Antistasi and its incredibly addicting. Im new to Arma, for the most part, so its a lot to learn and im not interested in jumping online and getting bitched at for not knowing every detail lol so Antistasi is perfect for me.
Figuring out the engage stuff was probably the most confusing part, but once you get it down it opens up so many opportunities. Ai just move by themselves, using cover, to chase and engage enemies which allows for a lot of autonomy.

ai squadleaders always use engage command which is why you rarely fight an enemy squad in formation
5:00, using 5-5 is actually useful to me. It quickly lets you know if any of the AI under your control have died, and the report was missed. It also says their location, but I mean, just holding tilde will show you where they are(as long as that hexagon outline is enabled I guess). You are absolutely right that the team feature is the most important part of commanding the AI.

Might be a silly thing to do, but i always try to finish the mission with all ai teammates alive. Takes a lot of time and reloads, but it kinda shows how much difference it can make in a battle if im giving right commands to the squad at the right time.

Is there a way to have them fire at something ONLY after you're being shot at, without having to set them to stealth? Having to do it for ambushes is way too tedious for me, and IIRC stealth makes them prone when in the open, so having to order them to do either crouch, stand and prone then let them do whatevs afterward is waay too much work, that and on top of having to have them hold fire :/

I had a problem recently, was doing some stealth mission (and had little to no idea about commading so was just looking around 1-8) and so I set up my squad to Stealth - do not engage unless engaged - which is what I wanted, but they were also constantly going prone the moment I stopped moving (and then bugged completely, but anyway)
I tried to command them to be on stand up all the time, but then should something happen, I'd drop and they'd just stand there
So I ordered them to Automatic so they mimick my stance, but again, every stop they'd drop on the ground. I miss (or there's an option like that, but I don't know about it) an option to tell them to go stealth in terms of engagement, callouts and movement, but with full stance mimicking
"Stealth" forces the AI to be as quiet and small as possible. So if they are not moving, they go prone to lower their profile. Use the proper Behavior and ROE for the right situations.
You really should try the engage command. Fire command is also extremely useful for an ambush (like killing two patrol guy without worrying about AI teammate shooting at the main force at the distance)
Fire Command rocks for ambushes, but unfortunately I don't often command AI. I'll have to mess around with the standard Engage bit
@@TacticalMetalhead When you issue an engage, the AI will start pushing towards the assigned target and trying their best to kill it. You can use this to basically having an autonomous fireteam fighting for you while you doing other stuff with the rest of your squad.

Stealth also makes them whisper and toggle to stance combat, with these other is like moving normally and moving with the formation but they will not shoot on sight@@squaremug

why my keys dont work, like when i press ` and then 7 it just doesnt work, but when i have smoke granades its changes like ctrl + g
You probably have ACE loaded in your mod list. Reset your keybinds back to default and delete your # keys from ACE Weapons, located at:
Esc
Configure
Controls
Configure Addons
Select the drop-down, select ACE Weapons
so how do you select the soldiers or a single unit who's are beyond the F12 keys?
You have to bind the capability of "cycling" your group bar. I cannot recall what the keybind is called off the top of my head, but it's under:
CONFIGURE
CONTROLS
COMMANDING

When i left clicka nd click play as character (the team leader) i cant command them in eden editor
the character must be "group leader" with the group icon above his head
why is their a diamond shaped indicator over each unit instead of the usual hexagon?
Great question. I am using a UI mod called DUI Squad Radar. The mod features all sorts of settings, and I have mine customized to my preference. I can forward the Steam Workshop link if you'd like
Can i make AI to target enemy soldiers? If i use the basic "target command" they dont care it
They won't engage if you set them to "Hold Fire". If you are experiencing AI issues that are not personal errors, the problems can be generated from:
The mods you are using
Unoptimized scenario
Unoptimized client settings
Unoptimized server host settings
Server host having a code mistake somewhere
Etc.

If you put ai in vehicles, will they function or just drive around
The vehicle will operate properly. For example, take an 8-man infantry section (including yourself), attach 3 crewmen, and put the Crewmen in one of the base game APCs (Driver, Gunner, Commander seats). Should be able to move around and fight as a mechanized formation with no problem, you can dismount your infantry while the vehicle supports in whatever capacity you need. I recommend grouping the Crewmen as Green Team, and infantry as Red

Or how could I set up a whole team and then tell it where to land?
Or how do I get it to patrol an area and attack everything it sees?
@@Gabozxc quite complex questions, but the easiest thing is setting up Support modules in the editor for combat support. Or better yet, having some people to play with to fill in those other roles. I'm infantry centric, vehicle stuff is not my expertise. But anything you can think of is something you can do in Arma 3 with enough experimentation

@@TacticalMetalhead I don't think it does. I've been trying to get a rank Platoon to follow my commands. But no matter what I do they refuse
Every unit within the platoon has to be below your rank. All dismounts from other vehicles must be in coloured teams under your command. It all gets very complicated and even though you can't really micro manage your AI it might be easier to use the high command feature.
Why pressing 7 doesnt do anything in my pc?
You may have a keybind issue. Press ESC, go to CONTROLS, and head to COMMANDING. Take a look in there.

WHAT KIND OF WAYPOINTS ARE YOU LOOKING TO MAKE?
@@TacticalMetalheadAs we all know Arma Ai is kinda dumb.
So essentially Arma 2 used to allow us to set multiple move points for AI in the map just like you could in the editor. All you had to do was hold shift and click.
You can set a chain of like 20 movements forcing you ai to specific areas that you as the player knew they would not get hung up on.
For example if I told a guy to drive from kavala to pyrgos, he's most likely gonna freak out at the bridges or get caught on the many random cobblestone walls in the fields.
This would allow me to line up his travel path better and force him to cross point I knew were smoother.

AI is better in CQB env after you add LAMBS AI mod.
That is true. Unfortunately, I've noticed a lot of very strange bugs with LAMBS lately so I tend to avoid it. I hope the Devs provide some updates soon!
@@TacticalMetalhead I may have found an amazing combination . Try Lambs together with CF_BAI. I think its the most realistic behaviour from the AI with those 2 mods
