Really nice catches, mate. 👍 Some of the station announcements in the last section do kinda make sense (For example, Tattenham Corner, which at one point was intended to become of Thameslink.) but the Ruislip Lido Railway stations are just plain bizarre!
Yeah, a lot of the stations in the system (eg. Hastings, Tattenham Corner, Ramsgate) could definitely become part of the network if Thameslink expanded. The Ruislip Lido stations are interesting, I agree!
I wouldn't be surprised if the guy who manages the information system is a bit of a train geek and volunteers at Ruislip. He probably uses them as test stations on the PIS so as not to mess around with real ones when testing new features.
Nice! I heard the red signal announcement at city thameslink and we were there for 30 whole mins, it was kinda creepy considering nobody was on the platforms
Uckfield has been on the cards for electrification for a while now - I don’t think it’ll go ahead though unfortunately. The government seems to be more in favour of battery trains on the route.
Thanks! They are all super rare after all - maybe you will hear some of them at some point on your travels! Quite a few of them seem to be dead announcements stored on the system never to be used though.
I downloaded these from the website AlanThomsonSim to use in Train Simulator scenarios. I believe the upload has now been deleted. Other train announcements are available if you search for them online (I believe the LNER 800 announcements are available if you search “LNER Class 800 announcements download” on Google.
Nottingham, Rugby, Sheffield are rarely interesting for me. Wow.. also there’s no calling at Birmingham New Street, Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool Lime Street and etc… Weird idea much but I’d like to see it :)
(Thankfully) I’ve never heard one of these announcements before so I’m not too sure. I believe the emergency evacuation announcements are used in case of eg. fire, derailment, or any other of the minority of incidents where it is safer to leave the train than to stay in it.
Thameslink haven't ever run services to East Midlands Parkway, or beyond Bedford for that matter. I believe the announcements are in the system for connecting to East Midlands Railway services. But you never know, Thameslink may be considering running into the Midlands...
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Got it. I definitely hope so. The lack of good connections on the MML from St Albans makes me want to cry. In my train fantasy dream, EMR would stop one intercity service in each direction hourly pick up set down watford junction style. I say fantasy dream, because there's not a chance that's going to happen as far as I'm aware. But if Thameslink could make extension, at least it would make the MML less painful.
@@EmeraldPixelGamingEPG I've never really understood (except from a congestion perspective) why EMR don't stop at St Albans. It's the largest city on the line between London and Sheffield which doesn't have direct EMR services.
Could be something to do with EMR's 810s. SE 707 used these announcements, so maybe EMR 810 might use them! But then at the same time, the 810 isnt a desiro or desiro city so i dont know
Yeah it’s quite funny lol - looks like Thameslink relying on electrification plans to go ahead in the near future should they want to expand their network!
I think a mix of tests and things carried over from the software of the classes 707/717 trains (especialy the second since Great Northern & Thameslink are one Company). The Ruislip Lido RW stations were probably the idea of Matt (male voice) who is in charge of the PIS on the (Southern?),GN,TL trains and also a member of the RLR.

And ditto with Kings Lynn - thameslink now runs here
nice video featuring all TL, SE, SN, GX and GN stations!
Thank you!
Nice! I heard the red signal announcement at city thameslink and we were there for 30 whole mins, it was kinda creepy considering nobody was on the platforms
Thank you! That is a little creepy, City Thameslink is quite a gloomy station...
Keep up the great work mate
Thank you!
I’m more concerned with why it’s got Uckfield on the announcement list. When Uckfield isn’t electrified for the 700s
Uckfield has been on the cards for electrification for a while now - I don’t think it’ll go ahead though unfortunately. The government seems to be more in favour of battery trains on the route.
just about to say this lol
I'm more concerned about East Midlands Parkway 😅
I’ve heard the first one - red signal.
Great video! Never heard any of them tho :(

more of this please! where did you get all this from?

Do a Southern one

Would definitely be interesting to see Thameslink going to the north - sort of defeats the point of the name “Thames”link though…
As somene who commutes from the far ends of the line I hear the red signal one at least once or twice a week!
I think the alarm is for after the evacuation annoucement plays
4:50 how do you spell the unopened station there?
I believe it’s spelt “Wixams.” It’s a new-build town just south of Bedford.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney just did a google search and it turns out wixams might be built for east west rail
That alarm just before point 5 lol
For all of the random stations, it could be part of a ‘Change here for services to’ but I don’t know
Some of them I think likely are - others I’m not so sure about. The closed stations are interesting.
weird how east midlands parkway is on the announcement list
The chime is for the class 377
Can someone tell me some examples of scenarios of emergencies on trains where those announcements and the alarm are played and the train is evacuated?
(Thankfully) I’ve never heard one of these announcements before so I’m not too sure. I believe the emergency evacuation announcements are used in case of eg. fire, derailment, or any other of the minority of incidents where it is safer to leave the train than to stay in it.
derailments, power issues, motor issues, passanger issues (eg fighting), fires, anything
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Usually if things get that bad the manual PA is used…
This is great I love it
The random "bongs" confuse me, always hear them on southern
Interesting, how rare is it for Thameslink services to ever reach as far as EMP?

What the hell? I've only seen Class 185's at Sheffield. That's the closest I'll ever get to a 700 in Yorkshire
Well the announcements are on the system from Bedford up to Sheffield! Maybe Thameslink are planning something…
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney The platform at Syston, sileby, barrow, Attenborough & Beeston will have to be extended for that to happen

@@bedfordshireeastmidlandstrains yeah that is also true
I can’t go one thameslink without hearing the strike because one time the central line was on strike and now the Elizabeth 😭
Yeah, it’s annoying…
4:52 ITS GEOFF MARSHAL🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Indeed! I wonder if he'll record any more announcements.
I never saw geoff marshall do the thameslink announcement
he made a video, something like 'i am the voice of thameslink trains' (slight clickbait lol)
it couldnt even get to some of those stations

Thank you for your support! Glad you enjoy my content.
I have actually caught a 700 in london Victoria before
Does happen on the odd occasion - seems to be more common on strike days.
Is that Julie Berry?
Yup - it is indeed!
@ItsAllAboutTheJourney I'm a local on Greater Anglia, and I recognised her voice from Greater Anglia
It's also Matt Streeton and Geoff Marshall (on Brighton Main Line Project announcement)
4:50 how is that station spelt?
I believe it’s spelt “Wixams” - it’s a town just south of Bedford.
i heard the red signal announcement yesterday, between finsbury park and st pancras thameslink
Nice - good to see the drivers making use of even the redundant announcements!
I’ve heard it too! It’s not shown on the PIS.
Why are these random things on a thameslink
Also I have heard the Victoria I have been on a Thameslink to Victoria
Good question - I’m not sure. Possibly remnants from announcements brought over from other older systems or plans that never went ahead.
Also Folkestone Harbour is confusing cause it was closed long before Thameslink
