Great video and crossing! TBH, this is easily one of my favorites, if not my favorite, in Greater London. I always do wonder what gate mechs these originally had, given that the bells are mounted on two of the masts rather than within the gate mechs. The horn salutes you got were neat as well.
Oh love the bells! Never heard anything like those before, sounds like someone ringing a handheld church bell! Like the one arm full closure also. Very nice crossing. Great catches esp out of the tunnel. The signal box still there is it still in use? ❤😊👍
Very glad you enjoyed the video! The crossing box is indeed still in use, primarily in control of the barriers under supervision of a much larger signalling centre these days though.
Very great video of the older style bell equipped level crossing I don’t know how rare these are compared to the modern siren type alarm level crossings
