He was the only one doing the right movie. Would have loved to see more of him and some more fleshed out fight scenes, maybe with some of the other gods that he butchered off screen.
Given the limited time frame and the director's limited vision, I'd say Bale's performance was stellar. If we had just a little more time and a bit more of a serious, dramatic, high stakes plot, I'd say Gorr might well have been one of the MCU's better villains.

Bale was wasted on this movie His portrayal of Gorr was compelling and dark, completely at odds with the rest of the film. Makes you think that Gorr could have been an iconic villain had the film been different.
This is one of those films that had some of the greatest potential ever, like you can see from a few scenes alone that if they kept it more darker and actually killed off a few characters it would've had a much darker weight to it
It’s also interesting how Natalie’s character seems to be a superior fighter to Thor and Captain America, with zero background whatsoever in fighting and their decades and centuries of development. The Critical Drinker is right: When anything goes, nothing is good anymore.
it's also interesting how captain america is able to instinctively use the hammer and its various abilities meshed into his own different combat style within seconds, but no-one gave a shit about that making no sense. one assumes that a mystical electric hammer conferring worthiness with a quasi-sentient nature probably helps out the holder in a fight otherwise we'd have to wonder why captain america can remotely hold his own against thor or enemies who could threaten thor when his combat background is literally "plucky weakling who got strong then spent a few years training" compared to thor's literal centuries of experience

I was almost sure that this movie's issues weren't as big as people made them seem. Now, it does seem Bale is carrying this movie-as one could expect. I didn't expect the vfx here to be so incredibly bad. They are very off-putting and wouldn't feel out of place in a movie from the mid 2000s, which is not the best compliment you could get.

This movie truly sucked, It felt like a slap to the face after waiting for Marvel to release something good this was when they started falling off big time, this movie felt more like a money grab. They just completely ignored the fact that Christian Bale was literally the god killer, supposedly in the comics hes way more dangerous. They really ruined this character, it could've been a re-occouring character that slowly dwindled different gods until they actually had a big fight, one that wasn't just a comedy skit with woman thor who suddenly knows how to fight, this truly felt shallow.
