    Dumbledore warned him in the duel of the ministry. “We both know Tom that there are fates far worse than death” - Dumbledore referring to the fact he knew his soul was split and where his final destination might be.

    I always had the idea that Voldemort had made so many Horcruxes made his soul "crippled" which affected his intelligence, judgement and patience, hence why he does things like not bothering to check if Harry is dead beyond just trusting Draco's mom.

    Well, little correction....Nagaini died before Bellatrix. It was only in the movie does she die after. In the book, Neville kills her in front of everyone before the second wave of fighting broke out. But I do think in that moment, he knew he was in trouble. Because that is when the Centaurs joined the fight, and the villagers of Hogsmeade, and the house elves in the kitchens....all came to fight. The Deatheaters were overwhelmed , and Voldermort couldn't kill a anyone anymore , nor did any of his spells have any lasting effect, thanks to Harry's sacrifice in the forest.

    Villains always close to the end of the story sometimes realize that they r about to lose. When Nagini died, he realized that all work for immortality has been for nothing. he was never gonna c the next century or the one after that.

    It’s almost comical if the story hadn’t been so tragic due to so many lives lost, that Voldermont worked so hard to achieve immortality just to die at 71. Dumbledore lived to be almost 118 and would have certainly lived longer up to 137 yrs the lifespan of wizards according to the ministry of Divine health. So Voldermont prematurely died 47 yrs earlier than Dumbledore when he died and 66 yrs earlier than the expected lifespan of wizards.

    Talking about Voldemort, it’s always been interesting to me how the one student that actually showed interest and wanted to delve deep into magic, became Voldemort, and all-powerful but other students even the Harry Potter crew seem to just kinda cruise along (except hermione) and never became too powerful.

      all witches and wizards are mightly powerful dude, they just probably dont feel it at all necessary to become immortal & take over the wizarding world, after all power is just a matter of perspective.
      For example the Marauders all became Anamagi, an extensive ^ gruelingly painstaking charm to enchant.Whereby they must hold a specific leaf under their tongue etc for an entire month
      &
      Dont forget what Snape said in the Philosophers Stone -
      I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death -
      and that was just the first years

      I know what you're saying, I read all the books waiting for the trio, especially Harry, to develop as characters and wizards, but they never really did, in fact the shadow golden trio (Neville, Luna and Ginny) had more development than the main one. That fact disillusioned me from the franchise more than whatever JK Rowling did or said afterwards.

    • @juliie007
      @juliie007 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The other issue is that we don’t have enough information about wizards in general as the narrative is from Harry’s perspective who was not raised in the wizard society. I feel that it was a waste of Ron’s potential to have not filled the information gaps for Harry since he was raised in the wizard world and is aware of its intricacies but Hermoine a muggle born filled that role. I know that JK was trying to show the readers that muggle borns are just as talented though it still didn’t make sense. Draco on the other hand seems to fill the role that was meant for Ron by giving Harry the insight he needed to see into wizard culture realistically when they first met at madame Wilkins and inadvertently onward for most of the books series.

    If Voldemort had done what Lucius Malfoy had suggested and "why don't you seek the boy yourself and kill him?" Then there would NEVER have been the protection that Harry gave to those fighting with him, as Harry would NEVER have been called to sacrifice himself for them for the old magic of love. Voldemort gifted them victory... Tut tut tut

    I think -Voldemort,- I mean Tommy Riddle, misconstrued the lack of strength of his spells~ He knew how much energy he was putting into the spells and past performance gave him a level of expectation for the results.
    He blamed it on _The Wand._
    I think his spells weren't giving him the bang for the buck because he had torn his soul into bits and those bits were being destroyed one by one, and none of the power was effective after Harry had sacrificed himself (destroying nearly the last of the horcruxes~ only Nagini remained). By destroying the horcruxes they not only untethered his soul but diminished the power of the magic he had possessed.

    Hmm. Voldy never defeated HP. HP put his wand in his pocket when meeting Voldy in the forest. It was not a dual. Additionally, HP foiled Voldy by faking death & the crucitus curse. And, IF Voldy knew he was about to die, why didn't he leave? He'd the power to do so. I think comma and all Voldy's arrogance and ignorance, he believed He'd defeat HP.

    This is the part of the story that really doesn't make much sense. All he had to do was get someone else to kill Harry. Unlike others, I think Harry is way more powerful than he is givin credit for. That being said, he still a student. A couple of death eaters can take out a teenager no matter how strong he is. I know what people are going to say. Voldemort is too narcissistic to let someone else kill Harry. Sorry, but no one is that narcissistic. It's definitely one of the major flaws in the story.

    • @gidzmobug2323

      He did say that, but there is nothing in the narrative that says HE has to kill him. He wants to be the one that kills Harry he doesn't have to be the one. It's a big flaw. Quirrrell tried to kill him. So there is no reason other than Voldemort's own narcissism for someone else not killing Harry. And sorry that just makes no sense.

    • @lxena8033
      @lxena8033 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If he got someone else to kill Harry, like he did for Dumbledore, it shows incredible weakness on his part. I mean why follow a wizard who was defeated by a 1 year old.... and continued to be beaten by him.

    • @johncampbell3390
      @johncampbell3390 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lxena8033
      No weakness at all. All he had to do was put a kill order. No one would have questioned. Better yet, to really prove that Snape was loyal, he could have given him the kill order. Multiple ways to do this and not look weak.

    • @gidzmobug2323
      @gidzmobug2323 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lxena8033 Draco Malfoy was supposed to kill Dumbledore. Snape (as per an agreement with Dumbledore) did the job instead.
      Dumbledore would have died soon, anyway (he had been wearing Gaunt's ring).
      As it was, Harry was an unintentional horcrux. A bit of Voldemort got into Harry when Voldemort killed Harry's parents (notice that Harry can speak Parseltongue in book #3).

    During Harry's speech to Tom, doubt must have been creeping up on Tom. But I don't think he ever expected to die. He would have fled if he had expected that. He kept persisting in his chosen course until the elder wand was taken from him and his rebounded curse struck him dead.
    It is a shame. But Harry did offer him the opportunity to surrender, even as he methodically explained to Tom why he was going to lose. Yet his pride drove him on.
    It is actually a common thing in real life. Evil goes just a bit too far, never expecting that its fortunes could turn. But when they turn, it is very sudden. The world is waiting with bated breath for the evil man in Moscow to suddenly see his fortunes reversed. This is why the Bible says: "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, Neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb."

  • @Edward-nf4nc
    @Edward-nf4nc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    1, Nagini died before the second part of the Battle of Hogwarts. Bellatrix was the last to die before Voldemort. However, she died thinking Harry was dead, so she died knowing Voldemort would win.
    2, there was something Voldemort had the second time that he didn't know before, fear. He feared Harry Potter. He was going to kill Harry in the graveyard to prove he was the more powerful, but he failed, so he had to except, even if only to himself, that Harry was a threat! The Death Eaters now had proof that Voldemort's powers were questionable! Then Voldemort fixed the wand issue and could now kill Harry, but Harry beat him again, leaving him to question if he was stronger as he should have won that time! Then he discovered Harry knew of his Horcruxs and was destroying them, which scared him, and then in the Great Hall, Harry returned from the dead! Now he knew he was in great danger! Here he was, facing the Chosen One as a mortal! His fear of who was the more powerful of them was so great he knowingly tried to used a wand against it's rightful master! He would not have done that during the first war.

    Harry wasn't saved by his mother's love. Virtually everyone Voldemort killed was dearly loved. "Saved by love" was just a story Harry was told when he was young and impressionable enough to wholly believe that. Dumbledore didn't want anyone pondering why Harry lived. Harry was saved by Voldemort's spell rebounding and placing part of Voldemort's power into Harry. Harry was saved by becoming a horcrux. Neither Voldemort nor his followers could be allowed to realize that. Only Dumbledore and Hermione ever reasoned it out.

      @@curiotimetv I agree. He wouldn't have been alive to become a horcrux without Lilly's sacrifice. The curse REBOUNDED. That doesn't just happen-- Lilly's sacrifice is the cause. The rebounded curse tore Voldemort's very unstable soul apart and a piece latched on to Harry because he was the only living thing near - that's why he became a horcrux. Voldemort didn't WANT Harry to be a horcrux. He wanted to kill him. Yes, everyone Voldemort killed was loved BUT no one stood between them and death, willing to die without fighting just so their loved one could live. It was Lily Potter's sacrifice that kept him alive; It was all explained in the books.
