An original musical orchestral arrangement and composition recorded, mixed and mastered at Dreamweaver studios.
I was a younger man composing and performing fusion jazz music when I created my Everquest account in April of 1999, and it opened a world to me I didn't know could exist. I made many new friends, many that I have actually met and know in real life. We had many great adventures and made many great memories.
My oldest daughter and her husband met in Everquest when they were teenagers, and they had my first grandson last May. So when she told me about the unveiling of Everquest Next at SOE Live, it stirred up lots of good memories and I began following it.
I was very excited to learn that Jeremy Soule was hired to do the music for it, he is a generational talent and I admire his body of work immensely. All the memories and emotions began to move me musically, along with excitement for Everquest Next.
So I began arranging and composing this musical tribute as a way to share my feelings and memories with others.
I took the liberty of combining the original Everquest theme in an arrangement with Mr. Soule's initial work in the opening movements, and from about 1:55 the rest of the score is original and I let the music say what I could not express in words.
It's been a labor of love, and my only hope is that it stirs similar memories and emotions in others.
I use several sound libraries, but for this I used the following EastWest Quantum Leap Sounds libraries:
Symphonic Orchestra
Symphonic Choirs
Ra
I used Presonus Studio One 2 as the DAW and Ozone 5 for mastering.
All instruments and percussion were performed and recorded live, no audio loops or slices were used.
for anyone that ever appreciated everquest for what it was and remembers what it was like loading that game up and being welcomed into the first ever "3D" mmorpg in the world...this is clearly for you..../claps hands, this is great!
This game brought me so much joy. This game formed strong friendships that still thrive. This game introduced my wife to me... I love you EQ. You are missed by many. Very nice composition.

I'm sitting here, in my chair, with this song in the background as I scroll through 11 ( yes ELEVEN) years of screenshots on my computer from my time in Everquest. I can not describe the feeling that rises within me when I look at each adventure that I embarked upon with the sounds of your masterpiece surrounding my thoughts. You sir, are amazing. Truly a delight to listen to your work. I'm throwing money at my monitor right now to buy this song... why isn't it working. Oh.. free you say?

How can a person that makes such a wonderful music have only ~90 subscriptions? Thousands upon thousands of subscribers wouldn't do you a justice. Keep great work and thanks for sharing!
Amazing work here the way the song played out it does not just say Everquest I ore do you remember your time in this world now its coming again but this time in a new way. The music really touched me and my wife she and I are both EQ fans but this really reminded us of our journey through Norrath. So Thank you so much for doing this.

Really good work sir. The new theme in my opinion lacked the "original" everquest in it, but your theme is just spot on, a blend of the old and the new without sounding too over the top. The only thing i'm missing is perhaps a bit more substance to the start of the song..as it picks up (and just becomes super awesome), it's more than clear that substance is something you rock at
