THIS MELODY IS NOT COMPOSED BY LAURA KAUFMAN but was written by composer JAY BARBEAU, who was hired by SONY ONLINE to compose the music for the very first EVERQUEST I onlilne game. SONY ONLINE hired Laura Kaufman to re-arrange and re-orchestrate Jay Barbeau's original EVERQUEST theme for the new EVERUQUEST II game series. Thanks PAUL ANTHONY ROMERO, composer of the EVERQUEST I extension games.
This game will always, always have a special place in my heart, until the day I die. I want to be buried with the original disc package of this game; that's how much this game means to me..I normally don't comment, but I'm making an exception, because this game is beautiful..every game has its flaws yes, but this game is just..fun..epic, atmospheric..the adventures I had with my family and friends, the people I met and the experiences I had..I'll always remember them. This beautiful game and the wonderful players I encountered in it have pretty much shaped me into who I am today..just wow, may this games legacy live on forever, and let the people who still play it have as much fun as I did, and Darkforge..if by some chance you're out there and you read this..thank you, it's Tekk - From Guk!
i miss this game i played when i was a small child and barely grasping proper teamwork as a berserker and illusionist but man it was fun the soundtrack to this game gives me impressive amounts of nostalgia; i wish i had played the first everquest as well
I don't play Everquest anymore, but I sure miss the game and I miss this song. It is a great song to listen to when waiting for the game to load up. Thanks for putting this song on youtube.
This music is brilliant...the change of tempo really adds a high adventure flavor and EQ2 is the first and only mmo i ever fell in love with...no longer a gamer but its awesome to hear this music and remember fun days!
@Anriel2 You are not alone, i thought i was, at least one of a few, from my understanding, there is a MASSIVE amount of us out there, from EQ1 EQOA,to EQ2 who get extremely Nostalgic from audio, video, even discussing the game! I met my wife on EQOA! Sony literally changed my life with EQ! Hence the reason i took the time to make this profile to share those feelings with everyone else! EQ community is the BEST bunch of kick ass people i have ever known! LONG LIVE EQ!
I started with Everquest 1 in 5th grade, played until EverQuest 2 came out, Upgraded, And still continue to play, I've been an Everquest Player for 9 years!
THIS THEME IS NOT COMPOSED BY LAURA KAUFMAN, but is her new arrangement of the original and very first EVERQUEST game. Laura re-arranged the original Everquest melody and re-orchestrated it for Everquest II. Thanks Paul Anthony Romero, composer for the Everquest I extension games.
I started back when I was 10 years old, and 6 years later the game still rips me up just listening to it. I first played a trial with my Dad. He made an ogre dirge on the Outpost of the Overlord.
Ha I remember playing EQ1 when I was 12... The old theme tune doesn't get me for some reason - but the remade EQ2 song gets me every time. Never thought I'd get nostalgic over an MMORPG. I was only 12 too, I just used to remake characters over and over and probably only got to level 25 at my highest. I'm glad I didn't really get to the highest level because it takes the mystery out of it when you're younger.
THIS GAMES AWESOME!, the only MMO where you can actually fight whatever you see and level up from it without actually having to quest all the time!, and have your health fully restored after like, every kill! :D
EverQuest is just like: Warcraft Warhammer Final Fantasy Harry Potter Gladiator 300 Pirates of the Caribbean Conan the Barbarian He-Man Thor Lord of the Rings Master and Commander Underworld Game of Thrones Chronicles of Narnia Shrek Kung Fu Panda Spirited Away Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Laputa: Castle in the Sky Princess Mononoke Howl's Moving Castle The Princess Bride Indiana Jones and Star Wars
ahhh I love this song ! Really god Job! I hoped the game would be have a PvP system on the german server ... I think i would play always today when there were a pvp system =( now i started WoW but in hasnt got so epic moments like EQ2 and no music like EQ2 ^^ oh man the music is sooo beatiful^^
I cry.. I am for fuck sake crying of nostalgia when I hear this song. It's such nostalgia it's sick. I wish I was 12 again when I first played this with my best friend :) But we aren't friends anymore though :(
I don't like EQ or EQ 2 as a game. I myself have played wow for around 5 years and WoW has some great music but I can honestly say I'm jealous WoW doesn't have EQ's music, or this piece in particular. Fantastic music thanks for posting!
@StuartTheGamerNerd thank you very much for the offer, and ill definatley consider it. but right now, ive got my sights on a different MMO, the only one i can play with my best friend in the whole world. FF XIV.
@StuartTheGamerNerd FF XI was party centralised. i know people who made great friends there. (id recommend getting the PC version of XIV if you get it at all.)
@EQOAnostalgia Hahah :D I wrote that two years ago... But ye, I'll cherish this nostalgic feeling for the rest of my life... No other game has ever made me feel this way!
@Skijaramaz awesome!, i'll have to look into that!, I hope its better than the last online one of that series, that was my first MMO I ever played using a PS2 controller but in the end that only disappointed me because I couldn't figure out how to do anything in that game but kill a couple creatures which was kind of borring
@CaptainViral84 ya, i've noticed that too ever sense I started playing!, everyones all up there in the high leveled area's, or maybe if that still happening to you maybe you should think about transfering your character over to the freeport server were all the people from the new FREE everquest 2 extended players are testing out the game without our trail ending this time!
You literally cannot hear this song ANYWHERE in the game unless you wait on the character select screen for like 5 minutes now :( Or if you disconnect while loading.
my only complaint is the fact that necromancers are evil only now. On the first EQ, i had a Human Necro and earned rep like crazy to be accepted by the Felwithe guards, and the shopkeepers.
because there is different stories and such throughout the game it changes every so often lol this is how the game originally came out but i mean people have beaten the game so they obviously add stuff
@Skijaramaz well then, welcome to the free version of the game, join me in the only free playable server available, the one called "Freeport", there me and me sis could help you out and you could help us, we paid a perminant 10 dollars for her account and 5 for mine to continue playing the awesome float-around Fae race in eq2 extended :D
EQ 2 never lived up to expectations. I didn't like the overdone bit mapping... everything looked like shiny plastic. The lore and stories never gelled like EQ 1. All in all it was just not up to par.
@cooleobrad1337 If you've been playing WoW for 5 years, I'm going to assume you never played EQ in it's day. And for that, I pity you. I've played WoW since launch, and EQ months after its launch. To liken the two is to liken a great family outing to the Grand Canyon to a pleasant family meal. One is nice, but the other surpasses all expectations and will stay in your memories forever.

Amen.
amen
This is how i felt about EQ 1 :D
EQ2 had the best musical score I had ever heard in a video game.
i miss this game
i played when i was a small child and barely grasping proper teamwork as a berserker and illusionist but man it was fun
the soundtrack to this game gives me impressive amounts of nostalgia; i wish i had played the first everquest as well

Ahhhhh brings back memories of 2004.. I loved this game.. Makes you feel like you are in the land of the fantastic!!!
This music is brilliant...the change of tempo really adds a high adventure flavor and EQ2 is the first and only mmo i ever fell in love with...no longer a gamer but its awesome to hear this music and remember fun days!

This makes me remember the old load in screen when they had the boat and making my first characters >.< I want those days back.
I've never played eq2 but I have been playing classic eq since I was a baby! I've been playing this game for literally 12 years!
Oh my god, I just nostalgia'd all over the place... *cry* I'm in high school now! I want to go back to 4th grade!
Everquest, none besides - none above!

this musiq is so awesome !
One of the beste game musiqs
Sorry Jeremy Soule, this is the best theme song ever. It can't be beaten.
Even though it's the theme from EQ2, it sure brings back the memories from EQ... ahh 7 years of history :)
THIS GAMES AWESOME!, the only MMO where you can actually fight whatever you see and level up from it without actually having to quest all the time!, and have your health fully restored after like, every kill! :D
EverQuest is just like:
Warcraft

300
Pirates of the Caribbean
Conan the Barbarian
He-Man
Thor
Lord of the Rings
Master and Commander
Underworld
Game of Thrones
Chronicles of Narnia

Kung Fu Panda
Spirited Away
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Princess Mononoke
Howl's Moving Castle
The Princess Bride
Indiana Jones
and
Star Wars
Reminds me of when I first got into Everquest 1.... That was a loooong time ago
I love this game so much ;)
A glorious theme for the greatest fantasy MMORPG ever made.
I tear up every time I hear this song.
oh god the memories, how I wish I was back there in its heyday wandering around Qeynos Harbour, how lucky I was
yeah it does bring back memories, i quit maybe 3 years ago almost
When this song will play
No matter the day
all your troubles
will fade away.
Seek your path
not society's wrath
lets be heroes
in the land of Norrath.
Good times before the game went free to play.
Good times before the game expanded so rapidly with so many expansions and level increases so quickly. Was much more fun when Norrath was smaller.
@@angelaf3005 fun is back now it's a niche game with only dedicated passionate players
I like to listen to this and eq1 theme and just lose myself...
ahhh I love this song ! Really god Job!
I hoped the game would be have a PvP system on the german server ... I think i would play always today when there were a pvp system =(
now i started WoW but in hasnt got so epic moments like EQ2 and no music like EQ2 ^^
oh man the music is sooo beatiful^^
I WANT TO PLAY THIS AGAIN!!!! RAWR!!!
I cry.. I am for fuck sake crying of nostalgia when I hear this song. It's such nostalgia it's sick. I wish I was 12 again when I first played this with my best friend :) But we aren't friends anymore though :(
For some reason this sounds like back to the future in the start to me...
I don't like EQ or EQ 2 as a game. I myself have played wow for around 5 years and WoW has some great music but I can honestly say I'm jealous WoW doesn't have EQ's music, or this piece in particular. Fantastic music thanks for posting!
@cooleobrad1337 I played WoW too, for two years, played EQ2 for about two or three years... Maybe four.
EQ2 is so much better.
@StuartTheGamerNerd thank you very much for the offer, and ill definatley consider it. but right now, ive got my sights on a different MMO, the only one i can play with my best friend in the whole world. FF XIV.
i started back in 2006 i remember making my froglok guardian, i still have him to this day! XD
@StuartTheGamerNerd FF XI was party centralised. i know people who made great friends there. (id recommend getting the PC version of XIV if you get it at all.)
yay when i get back from my summer place i am going back to the land of Norrath
@EQOAnostalgia Hahah :D I wrote that two years ago... But ye, I'll cherish this nostalgic feeling for the rest of my life... No other game has ever made me feel this way!
Beatifull song
Used to play on Blackburrow ^^ ~Mystiic
@CaptainViral84 you better, sense using Everquest 2 Extended launcher the games first 5-6 expansions are free to play now :D

@Anriel2
cool i played for the first time eq2 when i was 12 too
1:21 chills
I'm not certain if I like UO's stones more than this, its a close draw.
my only complaint is the fact that necromancers are evil only now. On the first EQ, i had a Human Necro and earned rep like crazy to be accepted by the Felwithe guards, and the shopkeepers.
i mean, necros are kinda inherently evil
because there is different stories and such throughout the game it changes every so often lol this is how the game originally came out but i mean people have beaten the game so they obviously add stuff
is any here looking forward to hearing what EverQuest Next music is going to sound like?
lol! OMFG! Back to the Future III
@StuartTheGamerNerd I know EverQuest 2 is free to play but its my old Dell XPS gameing laptop is five years old and can not run it.
As much as i didn't like this game compared to EQOA... it had some really fuckin epic music!
Everquest next's tech demo just came out.
@StuartTheGamerNerd agreed. my dad was an ass to sell our copy! >:(
The very first 10 notes sounds like a combination between the theme for "Home Alone" and "Back to the Future" :P Am I wrong? lol
F2P now
it will be dubstep ofcourse
i kinda think this sounds like the music from the jurasic park movies.
eq2 music. eq1 screenshots. lawl.
and guys srsly you can go back to the game now its free
@Skijaramaz well then, welcome to the free version of the game, join me in the only free playable server available, the one called "Freeport", there me and me sis could help you out and you could help us, we paid a perminant 10 dollars for her account and 5 for mine to continue playing the awesome float-around Fae race in eq2 extended :D
why'd they change it WHY THEY CHANGE HALF THE THEME NOW!?!?!? :'''(
But I want to listen to this when I start up the game, not Scarstone music!
@Stargeek2006 Not for me :/
i bet the reason on why wow is more popular than this (its free now) cuz wow is way easier than this
EQ 2 never lived up to expectations. I didn't like the overdone bit mapping... everything looked like shiny plastic.

its f2p now fyi
how can any game create such a great atmosphere and flop so bad through the leveling system?
Noob, those slides are from EQ1
To bad they had to ruin this game by making it pay to win
Epic music, for epic game.
