It was an amazing ride those years leading to that point. Honestly, I doubt any other game will ever create this experience again. The comradery, teamwork, friendships and the community as a whole was amazing. I dream a game like this will return!

This brings back memories ... My first MMO was Ultima Online, a few weeks after EQ came out, I switched. Played EQ until Planes of Power. I dropped the game when my guild was on Plane of Time, and switched to WoW, because I got my hands on the beta back then. Have been playing WoW ever since ... I'd still play UO and EQ, but unfortunately, there is only so much time a man can spare for gaming. I am happy to see those are still alive and well.
Was overlooking a power plant in Fallout 76 when this came on. I shorted out a sec,,, this isnt the right chill music for this world, but it works So Well!
This is pretty much the last raid zone I did in 2004 on Druzil row. The game pretty much ended here for me, except for some group content in GOD. the music is one of the better music scores of EQ (Faydark theme is the best!). I wish they would have used this music in a zone that was more accessable.
If only the ticking of the clock, was present in the music.Made it much better. Not that this version is necesarrily bad, but it just put the cherry on top, ye know what I mean?
I rage quit EQ the day I gained access to this zone. My PC was top end for the time, had a great connection, fiddled with every setting imaginable, and as the MT for my guild this zone was unplayable. Sony was well in control of things at this point and was using their top tier gamers as their software testers. Well, I did software testing for a living, and really didn't want to do it for them for free anymore. It had become commonplace for new zones to get accessed, bugs reported, and eventually patches made. But this zone was so bad, well... it was the last straw, I saw it, at about 5fps for 2 hours...
To me this is the true end of EQ, kind of like how Icecrown Citadel was the end of WoW.

Quite possibly the BEST piece of music ever to come out of EQ. This and PoE.

This song, in super high quality, is amazing to listen to on a super high end home theater. The bass hits in the beginning are absolutely deafening.

Goddamn this zone was so good. PoP was anus with all the backflagging required for new recruits but the payoff was so worth it.
