Metal Gear always has these moments where bosses are deflecting or dodging bullets or doing things that makes them virtually invincible, but then somehow you magically beat them in gameplay

Well, that was actually Raiden seeing himself as Snake in the simulation. They even show actual gameplay footage from VR Missions while Raiden was talking about his experience. We've been playing as Raiden even in MGS1. The whole point of MGS2 was to break the 4th wall and introduce Raiden as an avatar for the player. Of course, all that was changed after MGSV. Then we all became Medic.

Like, well, we see how Raiden got in and wonder around Shell 1, well the second scenario, which of course would be unlockable after you finish Raiden's, we get to see how Snake entered the Big Shell, disguise as a SEAL and wandered around Shell 2, and the story says so that he defused the bombs on the struts of Shell 2. But, alas, we will never get to see the areas of Shell 2 and it left me dead curious, unless Konamy throws in an editor, to let fans make versions of what would be the Shell 2 area. Solid snake lied telling Raiden he came into the mission via a "marine helicopter" as a water bug crawled out from under his leg..That gives us a reaction from Raiden knowing he was lying as when we swam off the coast of Manhattan into the Big Shell just 4 minutes into the infiltration we witnessed someone ( Solid Snake ) take out all the guards on the elevator lift moments before we reached the main goal & mission ourselves playing as Raiden. Another amazing fact is when Seal-10 are getting destroyed by Fortune on the AB connecting bridge. Snake doesn't answer because he didn't want the Marine to ask who are you!? as he never came into the rescue mission from a helicopter with the Frog-Men ( Navy Seals ) who's intentional mission was to rescue the president.. Solid Snake swam & cut the gates before Raiden & the same way as Raiden.
I love the way MGS2 was done. The frames were smooth, the introduction of the characters were intriguing. The action, slow motion sequences, and transitions were done so well it kept me wanting more, and it delivered. This was my first Metal Gear Solid game and it was perfect because I didn’t know who Snake was, and thru Raiden you learn as you go on understanding the mystery and legacy behind him was befitting. It’s also the most technologically relevant of the Metal Gear games.
So, did Kojima think we were all actually that stupid? Or was this supposed to obviously be Snake? Edit: Most of you are misreading my question. It took me a few months after playing this game to realize that the similarities between this game and the first one was that a Snake clone is interacting with the player in a terribly obvious disguise.

I heard that originally you played as raiden in the beginning. Then after you meet solidus, “plisken” explains what really happened at the tanker incident. Then cues the tanker chapter playing as snake which would be the twist reveal. But konami didn’t want to do false advertising or something so they went with playing the tanker chapter first.

I heard that originally you played as raiden in the beginning. Then after you meet solidus, “plisken” explains what really happened at the tanker incident. Then cues the tanker chapter playing as snake which would be the twist reveal. But konami didn’t want to do false advertising or something so they went with playing the tanker chapter first.
Only now I see that all seal team have unlimited ammo hahaha x)
