    A lot of people don't know that there's a lot a silica/quartz in play sand and it will go through the respirator and cause lung damage. Should never use play sand. That's why the sand used for blasting is so expensive. Just looking out for your best interest. I wore a really expensive respirator and still got lung damage. Thank you for the video cuz it answered my question and saved me from going through real-time testing.

    Thank you for the review. There are so many people that are discouraged when they purchase a smaller air compressor for household stuff and realize that the limitations are there. It just depends on how patient you are and the amount of work that you have to do. I do golf clubs and have been doing them for decades and when you think about the small areas that you are working on it only takes a few seconds with the right media. So, those of you who think that you need a huge air compressor that wakes up the neighbors. Don't be discouraged. You can still get the job done, it just takes patience. Thanks again.

      Thank you for your comment , i came here to see if my compressor would run this blaster, i purchased the blaster for pool calcium (at most 1/2" line) my compressor 2.5 h.p. and by your comment i feel a little better

    Thank you for showing that this will work with a small compressor. I have a 20+ year old 4 gallon, 2 HP, 2.6 scfm at 90 psi Campbell Hausfeld compressor. At 50 psi it should be adequate to meet the 50 psi, 3.5 cfm minimum air requirement, yet when I tried it, no media would move through the blaster. The media was Harbor Freight's 80 grit glass bead. I could see it lying in the air bleed hole at the exit from the container.
    After some thinking, I took the gun apart and found it was assembled wrong. The nozzle inside has a gasket and an O ring. The nozzle had been assembled and inserted backwards. The nozzle has small hole which should go towards the ceramic nozzle. That small hole is centered right above the media input. It is what creates the vacuum via the Venturi effect to pull the media up. When it was put in backwards, a large hole was over the media input which created almost no vacuum. It works fine now.

      @JackofAllTrades1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome, glad you figured it out. Maybe it was a return that somebody had already messed with.

    • @coricorgi2801
      @coricorgi2801 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There were two in stock at the time. I looked both over and picked this one because the exterior box had less shipping damage. I suspect it was poor assembly workmanship. Before I found the internal nozzle was backwards, I took out the exterior ceramic nozzle to inspect the passages for any blockage. The set screw had been tightened down so hard it cracked the ceramic nozzle into two pieces right under the set screw. Since the ceramic is under compression, I used JB Weld to epoxy the pieces back together. The JB Weld is holding up fine.
      Now that it is working, I sort of regret not getting the smaller handheld gun that you reviewed. If I could figure out how to reduce its air requirements a bit, it would be more suitable to the small parts I am cleaning. These are like steel shield or support covers in electronics which I can remove. I put them in a large clear plastic bag and spray inside the bag, then just pour the excess material into a small plastic tub after I am done. The bag has no openings so I make sure it is large enough to contain the volume of air being sprayed. A large rubber band seals it where my hand is inside so some air can leak out to keep the bag from filling up like a balloon. The advantage is no mess.

      @coricorgi2801 thanks for the feedback, from my testing both can be used with lower air pressures and volume... they are just limited.

    Thanks for sharing this. For smaller jobs it seems as though the pistol style gravity fed blaster should be sufficient.

      @bobbarron6969 for wood I'd try something soft at first like walnut blasting. If thst doesn't work then step up to sand.

      @@sydurgraham7760 I had problems after a while with moisture.... because my little air compressor was working so hard and getting hot. So I got one of those small inline filters from harbor freight to help keep the air dry. It will clog too from time to time if you reuse the sand and have debre in it but I think moisture was more of an issue.

Should i go with this sandblastor or the pistol gun type . I’m not going to be using it a lot and it’s $89 for this type your reviewing in this video vs $50 for the gun type here in Canada .
